Tried posting this last night. Pessimism put aside as game day approaches. This is a different year, different attitude.
MIAMI 24 UNC 21
And a bonus...
...national sports media discovers that rogue elements within the UNC medical and athletic departments had indeed dabbled heavily into advanced cloning in the previous decade and has successfully replicated Connor Barth as Casey Barth. Also revealed is that the Tarheels had licensed the same technology to Florida State, who employed it to clone Roberto Aguayo as Ricky Aguayo.

June 2016 - Audra Cohen has been named the head women’s tennis coach at the University of Oklahoma, OU Vice President and Director of Athletics Joe Castiglione announced on Thursday. Cohen spent the previous five seasons as head coach at North Florida where she led the program to four NCAA Tournament appearances while winning four Atlantic Sun tournament titles.
“We’re genuinely excited to welcome Audra Cohen as our head coach for women’s tennis and new member of our Sooner Family,” Castiglione said. “Audra is one of the premier rising coaches in the country. She has an impressive record for winning championships and developing successful, high-caliber teams during her time at North Florida. Inspired by her own journey as an NCAA national champion and professional tennis player, Audra is committed to providing our student-athletes with the very best experience possible in all phases of their career growth. We look forward to working with her as her leadership characteristics, passion and energy will positively impact the future of our program.”
“I am so excited to take on this great opportunity that Joe Castiglione, (senior associate athletics director) Michael Alford and the administration at the University of Oklahoma have given me,” Cohen said. “I can’t wait to begin working with the current team and develop their talents further. I’m the type of person that likes to hit the ground running. I look forward to getting started to build a special program at OU that will compete nationally and continue OU’s standard of excellence that it has established across all sports.”
Cohen, a three-time Atlantic Sun Coach of the Year, led North Florida to a 77-27 overall record and a .740 winning percentage during her five seasons with the Ospreys. Cohen’s teams dominated the league during her tenure at UNF, posting a 36-1 mark against conference foes. She coached three different players to Atlantic Sun Player of the Year honors while Ospreys earned 29 all-conference selections.
North Florida posted a program-best 17 wins under Cohen’s direction in 2015 as seven players collected postseason All-Atlantic Sun honors en route to an NCAA Tournament berth. In 2014, North Florida climbed to as high as No. 63 in the ITA national rankings while the Ospreys posted a perfect 8-0 mark in league play.
Cohen was also one of four coaches named to lead the USTA’s Men’s and Women’s Collegiate Teams, an elite training program for the top American collegiate tennis players in 2011.
A native of Plantation, Fla., Cohen began her collegiate career at Northwestern where she earned All-America honors in singles and doubles, was named Big Ten’s Player of the Year as a freshman and the ITA’s Rookie of the Year, while advancing to the NCAA Singles championship final. She graduated in 2009 from Miami with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
Cohen transferred to Miami where she won the 2007 NCAA Women’s Individual Singles Championship in 2007. She finished her collegiate career at Miami with five All-America selections as a Hurricane while winning ITA National Player of the Year honors twice as well as the Honda Sports Award for women’s tennis in 2007. Cohen was a two-time ACC Player with the Hurricanes and posted a 76-4 record in singles.

I like the Canes running game against UNC. Walton and Yearby should have good games. UNC is not that good or talented to stop the Canes.
I really believe this offense hasn't clicked yet, but when or if they do click, they will be fun to watch.

Duke blew it, had L'ville 4 and 22 and kicking a fg, to only be down by 6, roughing the kicker, and then the Cards score a td, and now it's a 10pt game.

Some hyperboles on here. We've scored a lot of points and the defense has only scored 2 of those, which were opportunistic at best. The defense is playing good, yes. And the offense could play better, yes. But u all make it sound like the offense is totally paralyzed. U all need to calm the Fock down. How about not calling dumb ass running plays 20 times in a row. Sheesh.....

Posted in the last two seasons, but very infrequently. I hate to admit it, but I was an apologist to the golden rain. I could say It behooved me to believe a coach could be so inept in proper utilization of his players, but that would not be true.
I was blinded by the hope that the years of subpar performance would soon come to an end.
Who runs two deep safeties on the goaline? I mean really who the f*** does that? Jesus.
I have since learned to believe what my eyes are seeing. The reason I am so hard n Brad, Cmr, and the rest of the offense is that our defense has poven that aggression, confidence, and focus can turn a unit around very quickly. Everyone thought we would have to win shootouts going in to this season, but we are on the verge of ending this season as one of the nation's top defenses. Even after losing our THREE top tacklers to bs. The offense will see a similar turnaround if everyone, starting with CMR, owned it and believed in it.

Why runs two deep safeties at the goal line?
To quote Princess Bride, "Inconceivable!"

In addition, he questioned his pocket awareness by suggesting that he is an "average quarterback" who "needs a clean pocket to throw" from.
^2 years too late.
Posted by: BEERicane | October 15, 2016 at 01:21 PM
Kaaya can throw a nice ball if the circumstances are perfect around him. But I have yet to see him MAKE a meaningful play in less than ideal conditions, against a good opponent, or to win a game.
Here is the only thing that matters with Kaaya - record. Saying he is average is being kind.
Kaaya record vs FBS: 10-12 overall (4-7, 6-5, 1-1 so far)
Kaaya vs ranked: 1-6 overall (0-2, 1*-3 (1 win vs #24 Duke on a miracle play he had zero to do with), 0-1 so far)
That is NOT good. No matter how you slice it.
Posted by: BEERicane | October 15, 2016 at 01:36 PM
^^^^^^^^
Beer... Kaaya didn't play in that win over Duke
Posted by: WWIN | October 15, 2016 at 01:46 PM
Oh yeah, I stand corrected. He got KTFO vs clemmy.
He has NEVER beaten a ranked opponent.
Posted by: BEERicane | October 15, 2016 at 01:49 PM
Updated thanks to WWIN:
Kaaya record vs FBS: 9-12 overall (4-7, 6-5, 1-1 so far)
Kaaya vs ranked: 0-6 overall (0-2, 0-3 (DNP in miracle win vs #24 Duke), 0-1 so far)
Can we put up a Kaaya record tracker on the banner of the Space?
Posted by: BEERicane | October 15, 2016 at 01:52 PM
Your criticism is warranted , Beer. But on the flip side, he has lead us to plus .500 seasons with some of the top 5 WORST defenses in the nation AND the HISTORY of the program. He ain't Ken Dorsey, but he ain't Kirby Freeman either.

Plus .500? Not if you throw out non P5 schools.
He's an average college QB. No better.
Posted by: 1mg of Epi | October 15, 2016 at 02:20 PM
The lack of redshirt year has caught up to him. He has developed some bad habits under pressure. Ryan Williams stays, healthy and I think Kaaya looks like a different guy.
Posted by: TruCane81 | October 15, 2016 at 02:20 PM
Hoping CMR gets some up tempo, quick passing going. So Trini Brad can get soke rhythm. If the oline focuses and takes pride in their assignments,we could see a break out game from the O and a corner turning win.
A big win today and a tough win Thursday night will really put this program in a new mindset, even if there are hiccups along the way.
