Take Your Time, Build Some Talent

One of our bloggers had the intelligence to write this about STARS and talent:

Lur-ker, I know you were concerned about me (lol).... wanted to let you know the house is still standing but as I type this post, I am still without power (4 days so far....I just got internet so using a generator to power my Mac.

I did get to see some of the game at my moms burt was so disappointed I actually left a house with A/C showing the canes to go to my house with no power and A/C. I also couldn't read 1 comment in the 1000+ comments from previous blog. I got all my info with one call to TSully who gave me the low down.

Peace and remember, people lost their lives this weekend and football is just a game.

Very true.

But were the two TDs the two best passes thrown in the game?

Can't think of any better.

He played good but we needed great, understood.

But we had bigger issues imo...

This was a team loss, plain and simple.

Bad decision/pass, dropped balls, missed blocks, missed tackles, offside penalties, fantom holding call, terible targeting call.

Every single unit left plays on the field.

And don't forget with our game on the line on fourth down he delivered a picture perfect throw for the game-tying TD.

I would like to see our TE get more involved in the offense. We did great when we attacked the middle of the field. I want to see more of it!

Both qbs made plays and both qbs threw picks in the redzone. We contained Dalvin most of the game the difference was in the way the plays were called.

FSU couldn't block us.Jimbo ADJUSTED and used our strength against us. On the Dalvin touchdown pass, the linebacker fell because he got caught up in traffic chasing the run fake to the opposite side leaving Cook wide open. This was brilliant play design and timing.

Say what you want about qb and ol play. We made their qb and ol look bad too. The differnce in game was their coach called plays that gave their team confidence and momentum. Unlike ours...........

IMO, this loss can be blamed on CMR, OL and Kaaya in that order. I think the debate about CMR holding back or being rusty has been answered.

With that said, were still in a good position and much better then a year ago.

It showed that we are not deep enough to make practice mimic the game speed against FSU..the mistakes come from getting beat by the man over you. Not enough comp.

Kaaya also will rest a couple of days, and is listed as questionable for the UNC game.

I really hope Kaaya is healthy because the Canes need him against UNC. The offensive line's pass protection must be solid. The running game must be good enough to protect him, make play action effective and limit his hits.

Brad Kaaya is NOT clutch. All the other adjectives used to describe him become meaningless if he, for once, finds a way to put the team on his back and carry it to victory when it's needed the most.

The stadium was electric Saturday, almost OB like. And proof that if you win, they will come.

Said that Kaaya played the game with a hurt shoulder from the first play of the game on and won't throw for a couple of days, maybe more. Also said Sunny is out indefinitely and they are going to appeal the targeting call on Carter to the ACC. Hey said they coached him to hit exactly like he did I thought it was a perfect play.

Ah so! I REST MAY BLOODY CASE!!!!!!!

Again, I stated several times Sunday, that both the game opening hit and the targeting hit RATTLED Kaaya more than Cane fan wanted to admit. It's just amazing that Kaaya got off the proverbial mat after that opening hit and continued to play ball!

The bottom line: Not only did Skinny hoe handle hips Kaaya play with an injured shoulder. He played with a fuzzy, punch drunk cerebellum. huh

Yeah, yeah, yeah. FSU's signal caller played with an injured shoulder too. So what. Because the CRITICISM is targeted at Brad Kaaya and what not. No pun intended ( Targeting hit. LOL )

Oh, and one more thing. Brad may be slow as a tortoise, but he's one TOUGH SoCali kid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Give it a rest, bubba!!!!!!!!!! FSU's signal caller has an All-American running back and he can run like lightening. Which helped him make plays and what not.

Oh, and one more night. Kaaya was " off " in the crucial second-half, yet he had the MOXY to make that potential game tying touchdown UNDER extreme PRESSURE. duh

VT is now ranked #17, so a win in on the road on national TV will mean a lot. But first, we have to take care of business against UNC (a team that won at FSU). If so, then the showdown against VT will likely decide the Coastal Division winner.

bUbba, you're OBVIOUSLY misconstruing his words and what not. What he is opining, is that Kaaya was clutch on the forth-down play for the tying-not touchdown. duh

It's also difficult to pass on third-down when the running game is only producing no yards or one yard or two yards on 1st down or 2nd down. BUT I GUESS BRAD is to BLAME FOR THAT too!

Even my main man Herbie said FSU was " teeing off on Miami's offense. Especially in the second-half. Because they knew Brad was no threat to run the ball on either 1st or 2nd down. And that was probably one reason why Miami couldn't get their running game going. FSU was FOCUSED in on either Walton or Yearby, because Kaaya isn't a threat to hurt an opponent with his legs. DUH

Oh, and one more thing. I get it. YOU DON'T LIKE the fact that Brad Kaaya is Miami's starting QB. SO WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!

True. I also give FSU's QB Francios credit for recognizing the advantage and going to it right away.

Overall, it was a solid performance by the defense. That was FSU's lowest point total all season. Could have been better though.

I like Carter and Jenkins, our safeties. I think they are very good, and both have a chance to play on Sundays. And I really like Jaquan Johnson. I always have been a fan of his since high school, but I really think he is the kind of player that a DC always wants on his team. Not only Johnson's interception, but he had a few plays in that game that didn't show up on the stat sheet per se, but were elite. Johnson even had a solo tackle on Cook that prevented a touchdown, and he covered some space to get to him. He communicates and knows where to be on defense.

Corn Elder is our best CB right now. Glad to see the Canes are recruiting that position, because there will be a need there after he leaves.

After further deliberation. I was wrong about Miami's offense and FSU's defense. Because I let my imagination, wishes and fantasies run wild about Miami scoring time after time after time after time against FSU. huh

For instance, FSU's defense was GUTTED because those quality opponents ALL had DUAL THREAT quarterbacks. Or QB's who can run out of the pocket when a pass play breaks down. And this tangent made it difficult for FSU to defend against. Thus their sorry arse defenisve statistics.

CaneRock, while you're rippin BK, just remember, we only had like 70yds RUSHING!! So our 19pts, are the result for the most part, by passing. He threw a PHENOMINAL ball to Coley on the first one, and then with over a minute left in the game, throws ANOTHER once AGAIN to Coley! So w/out BK's darts, we may not have even gotten a TD. But yeah mean, he stinks, and was able to STILL make those throws all dizzy, and droopy, but yeah man, he's terrible. Also lit up a BETTER FSU team last yr as well for over 400yds, but yeah man, he's terrible! The o-line is the only thing killin BK!!

I feel the desire to play it by the book in that situation. Under most circumstances, the deep kick is the right call. But that block pat took all the wind out of the teams sails. I don't thnik anyone can say they believed we could stop FSU after such a huge emotional swing.

And you think it's gonna get better when He gets to the NFL? Heck, He had perfect protection on that INT He threw. Trust me, when He gets to the NFL, He's gonna be wishing He had as much time to throw as He did at UM. In the NFL, QBs have to throw the ball from a compromised position...I'll take Marino's word for it:

“If I worked out a Quarterback for a NFL team, he'd have to show me 100 throws off his back foot. Too many scouts will downgrade a QB prospect for throwing off his back foot. In a collapsing pocket, it's actually an important skill to have".

Jim Grobe won that ACC title game against a team gold-hen girl loser against the primary rival dude is zero for life against too.

If Smart Mark had kept the game manager managing the game from the I formation instead of trying to win it with his testicle-less, woman's bathroom using stiff at QB, and run the touch back interception that should have been thrown out the back of the field of play if it was thrown at all into the line for no gain or even a loss, Hurricanes win on the converted FG attempt on the next play even with the block PAT. But of course a loser will always lose and have his sid-tard brigade rally around the failure because that's the nature of the beast.

I think the criticism of Kaaya has gone too far or may be interpreted. Kaaya is a good QB and made some really good plays during the FSU game. He has shown brief flashes of being really good if not great but just not often enough or enough to win the game. But to be fair we also have to acknowledge that the OL and the HC/OC did not do him any favors either.

I am glad he is our QB and just want him to take that next step to greatness where he leads our team to victory over FSU.

Now, on to UNC!
