Just watching the first 30 minutes.....so biased toward ND......hate that team. TD Jesus is so offensive......hate that team......forever!!!

Go Canes!

Happy to see a local kid win the heisman. The fact this incredible player was basically overlooked by the Big 3 shows just how much unbelievable talent there is in this state and how careful we have to be about Star obsession.

Pretty difficult to explain how the QB at Heritage, who was average at best throwing the ball could have been a 5 Star and Top 20-30 player nationally while Jackson was just a 3 Star at the same time.

CGNC

OhioCane, VACane, UMike, SarasotaCane, OldSkool, and CGNC... please report to my office ASAP.

It wasn't me. It was UMike and VACane. LOL

BigWindyCane1

Good post GC. I forgot about Torrance Gibson from American Heritage, who went to OSU. Urban Meyer moved him to WR, then suspended him for the season. Canes fans were also disappointed when Dewayne Lawson decommitted and went to Virginia Tech. Lawson was suspended and kicked off the Virginia Tech team. Many Canes fans were disappointed when Gibson and Lawson committed elsewhere. I am sure they both regret their decisions to leave

Dewayne Lawson and Gibson were both recruited higher than Jackson. It seems Deandre Francois is the QB that panned out. I remember when he played youth football for the Orlando Outlaws. He was a running QB, but not much of a passer. They really did a great job of developing him since then at IMG, and then FSU.

CMR will do a great job developing his QBs. Perry, Allison and all the other QB prospects he brings in, will have their best opportunity to develop into a high caliber FBS QB under CMR and his staff

CGNC

Go Canes - agreed, we need to keep these local kids here. But kudos to Petrino for putting a system in place for him to shine.

Regarding JJ OV

Tweed said:
This will be my last post on the matter, because nothing else from this point will be a matter of public record. (Unless asked to.)

I don't do predictions, I don't percentages, and I don't do gut feelings, so please just sit back, relax, & let's see what happens.

I will say this, WE ARE AT THE TABLE fellas !!!! Meeting with the staff this morning when picking up Jerry, and that's all we can ask for at this point.

Thanks and God bless.

To echo Tweed's post, Miami has given themselves a very real chance after this weekend.

Go Canes!

I'm not being a homer here, I just don't believe one word his coaches saying.

Barry • Among the unexpected visitors on UM’s campus this weekend: five-star receiver Jerry Jeudy, an Alabama oral commitment who is rated the No. 1 receiver and No. 12 overall prospect.

So is he really considering UM? Linebacker BJ Jennings, a UM oral commitment who also visited Miami this past week, told Canesport that Jeudy told him that he’s considering UM.

But Jeudy’s high-school coach, Jevon Glenn, told CaneSport: “I talked to him after, he's still with Alabama. He just went down because he had nothing else to do for the most part. He was thinking about going to North Carolina (Saturday), didn't feel it so stayed at Miami. He just went down, wasn't going to think about flipping."

There’s better news for UM with four-star Maryland based running back Anthony McFarland, who named UM as his front-runner:

“I don’t know where I want to go right now but, as far as having a good relationship and being in a great environment, if I had a top school right now it would be Miami, Maryland, and then Alabama in that order," McFarland told Rivals. "I’ve never put out a list of schools in order before but it’s getting down to the last minute so I need to have an order. Things change every week so it could be different next week.”

On who has impacted his recruitment the most, McFarland told Rivals: “I would say Trajan Bandy. That’s my guy. When he found out I was one of the top backs thinking about Miami he started texting me and sending me messages and information about Miami. He lives there so he’s just telling me everything. It’s going to be tough for me to not go to that school.”

Rivals rated McFarland the nation’s No. 3 all-purpose back and No. 135 overall prospect in the 2017 class.

The Dude

Good stuff blog.

CGNC

GO - LOL and who knows if he flips maybe his coach doesn't get his share of whatever Alabama is offering him either.

The Dude

If you live in Miami, West Virginia who are you rooting for?

The Dude

17 days until we have to beat WV. Must win game.

The Dude

You guys never post while I'm stuck at church.

The Work: Jeudy, Donaldson, and much more
**Where to start on Jerry Jeudy? First, let's look back to the summer when Jeudy committed to the Crimson Tide. Those within the Miami football offices assured me that this staff would not give up on Jeudy. I wouldn't say they were "confident" in their chances to flip him, but they truly felt like his decision was much closer than some had made it seem. A source close to Jeudy told CanesInSight that the Canes gave him a lot to think about after Paradise Camp and that there was a point after that where some believed Miami had put themselves in position to land a surprise commitment before Saban sealed the deal. However, Canes WR coach Ron Dugans stayed in contact with Jeudy over the past few months and Miami knew that they had to conduct the recruitment as far under the radar as possible. The staff put the wheels in motion to get the nation's top-ranked wide receiver on campus beginning last Thursday, a day before Deerfield Beach's state semifinal game against Southridge. Step one was Dugans setting up an in-home visit with Jeudy, which was facilitated through the help of Jeudy's brother. Dugans stressed the importance of getting in-home with Jeudy and he even made it known that Mark Richt was planning to clear his entire schedule -- regardless of other visits he had planned to be there for that in-home visit. So, Dugans and Richt visited Jeudy on Monday night and were able to convince him to take a visit. According to a source, there wasn't even necessarily a hard sell needed -- this was something that Jeudy had been considering doing for some time and Miami coaches were confident they would get him on campus before the dead period, as I had alluded to on the podcast two weeks ago. Regardless of reports out there, the plan had been for it to be an official visit. Miami wasn't sure if he would stay through the weekend, but they wanting him getting all of the normal benefits of an official visit. Jeudy ended up staying through the weekend, which was a good sign, but is also not something to look too deeply in to. The major thing to point out here is that although Miami put the absolute full-court press on Jeudy this weekend, this visit was not something that he was "forced" into taking. Miami also knew that if word got out too soon about the visit, then there could be a move made by Alabama to try and prevent the visit. Jeudy alerted the Bama staff that he'd be taking the trip the night before he got on campus, and there was nothing that they could do to stop it at that point.

So now the big question -- where does Miami stand after the weekend? This is going to be a heavyweight battle down the stretch. As now-legendary CIS poster Tweed has put it, "Miami is at the table" and have given themselves a legitimate chance down the stretch. This was not a courtesy visit. This staff is very big on only allowing kids to visit if they are serious about their intentions, and they were not going to go through the trouble they did to set it up for someone who was going to disrespect the process.

As I had posted in the thread yesterday, I'm told Jeudy stood next to Richt during the 7-on-7 portion of practice yesterday and was fully engaged. Richt was paying extra close attention to both Jeudy and Navaughn Donaldson this weekend, according to multiple sources.

What's next? Look for Bama to go in-home with him today and that will give them a better idea of where they are and the sort of room that Miami has made up.

One more thing I will point out for those who missed it in the thread. Bama receiver Calvin Ridley and Jerry Jeudy's relationship is well-versed at this point. Jeudy looks at Ridley as a big brother and it was one of the big reasons why he chose the Crimson Tide in the first place. Sources tell CanesInSight that the two have discussed his decision, and that Ridley has not only given him his blessing to sign with the Canes, but is telling him that Miami is a very good situation for him, especially as his family endures a difficult situation.

You can never underestimate the power of Nick Saban and Alabama, but the Hurricanes are very much alive in this race. It would not shock me to see Miami also try to get another in-home with Jeudy tonight to wrap up the weekend and stay in his head, but again the staff wants to avoid being "pushy" here, while still pulling out all the stops that they can.

To once again quote Tweed, there's no point in making predictions or putting percentages on Miami's chances right now. All you can do is give Richt and staff credit for their handling of the situation and getting a program-changing type prospect like Jeudy to give Miami a serious look, against the odds.

**Navaughn Donaldson was equally as important of a prospect on campus this weekend for the Hurricanes. I had been told for weeks heading into the visit that Miami was not worried about a flip to UF or FSU prior to this weekend, and that this visit only solidified that more. A UF source even told CanesInSight that they realistically expect Donaldson to stick with his commitment. Florida State believes that they are still alive, but with Donaldson enrolling early and coming off of a strong visit to Miami, it would be very difficult for the Noles to make a big push as the dead period strikes tonight at midnight. Donaldson and running back commit Robert Burns were "attached at the hip" this weekend as well, according to a source.

**As I've posted for about a month, C.J. Henderson continues to lean strongly in UF's direction and a couple different sources close to Henderson do not believe that his official visit to Miami this weekend will have any effect on him changing his mind. It is likely that we hear less and less of Henderson's name being associated with Miami as he nears an announcement. The Canes will focus their attention at defensive back on junior college cornerback Jhavonte Dean, who will visit January 13th weekend, as well as Miramar defensive back Brian Edwards, who Miami defensive coaches believe can play either cornerback or free safety in their scheme. Edwards will take an official visit to Miami January 27th-29th, the final weekend before national signing day. Southridge safety Antwan Collier remains on the radar as well, and would almost certainly commit on the spot if Miami chooses to offer.

**Last thing and it is not recruiting related, but as CanesInSight reported two weeks ago, it still appears that tight end David Njoku is headed to the NFL draft. Multiple people close to the program say that Njoku has given nearly every indication that the Russell Athletic Bowl will be his final as a Hurricane.

Mark and Jon Richt have also already had multiple meetings with Brad Kaaya and his support system that will be helping him make his decision on whether to stay for his senior season, or declare for the NFL draft. My personal opinion, and I stress "opinion" because this is not something set in stone, but I believe Kaaya is also leaning towards foregoing is final season to enter the draft. I would expect for him to have a decision made prior to the bowl game and then look for a final announcement shortly thereafter.

Go Canes!

There you go TD

Sinistercane1

From CIS I fuqin' love it

TOO ALL THE HARD CORE CANES WHO WOULD GO TO A HURRICANE GAME BEFORE A FAMILY MEMBERS FUNERAL LIKE MYSELF. WE'VE ALREADY WON ON THE JEUDY RECRUITMENT THING REGARDLESS OF WHAT HAPPENS. SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY KNOW NOW THEY'LL HAVE TO COMPETE WITH US FOR THE TOP RECRUITS IN THIS AREA AND THAT OUR HEAD COACH HAS ENOUGH CLOUT TO STAND TOE TO TOE WITH SABAN.

THIS ISN'T A MORAL VICTORY WE JUST STOOD UP AND SPIT IN ALABAMA'S PHUCKING FACE. PERIOD THEY'RE NOT GONNA WIN THE MAJORITY OF BATTLES RECRUITING MOVING FORWARD THIS ISN'T GOLDEN OUR COACH IS A BATTLED HARDEN VETERAN.

EVICTION NOTICE IS ON THE DOOR.

A life saver.

BEERicane

Best of the speculation game is Kaaya considering leaving.

The Dude

I kind of feel bad for Jeudy, he's got a hell of a decision to make. I think both schools are a good choice for him.

BEERicane

Only one school is a good choice, Dude. Come the 'eff on.

Dirty ass hurricane did it to him too.

TJL

We have a good chance for Juedy- Alabama did not renew Kiffins contract so he's gone. Who's gonna be the next OC? Sark? Would he go to where a new OC is coming in and you only have one QB on the roster? Plus hes gonna be behind Ridley where he could start for the U from day 1.
Just gotta beat out the poor mans Ryan Switzer -Barrios

The Dude

News is saying Strong is USF's HC.

The Dude

Vance will be his DC I bet. He'll get a bunch of guys that recruit SF.

The Dude

Posted by: TJL | December 11, 2016 at 06:32 PM

Why is he behind Ridley at Bama, but not behind Richards at Miami? So Kiffin might not come back... Sark runs the same offense as Kiffin, and even if both left, is there any doubt that Bama wouldnt pay any amount for someone good? Lastly the QBs. If Brad jumps pro, he'd have to work with a freshman at Miami.

thirstybuzzardcane

Not good for Miami with Butch and Strong down here. All we need now is Kiffin to take the FAU job!

Go Canes!

None of those three will take a single UM recruit. Especially when we start taking care of business on a regular.

thirstybuzzardcane

^^^^^ respectfully disagree! If Christabol turned FIU around, than Butch will do wonders there. I'm more worried about Butch than Strong.

thirstybuzzardcane

Hahaha, Vilma tearing Kannell up on Bowl Mania special! 🙌

SinisterCane

Just need Kaaya to leave for tha NFL

Go Canes!

I didn't say he won't turn it around. If it can be done, he's on of the only guys who can pull it off.

He just won't do it with any of our recruits.

Lack of leadership is the deal breaker for me

The day a player like Jerry Jeudy takes an official to FIU while committed to Bama, you'll be right.

Until then, implying that program will ever be in our same stratosphere when vying for the elite caliber recruits we go after makes you look like a complete buffoon.

Miami wide receiver Ahmmon Richards was named a first-team freshman All-American by USA Today on Sunday after a record-breaking season in which he caught 46 passes for a team-high 866 yards and two touchdowns.
