Maybe, but Strong still has two years left on his Texas deal at 5M a year. Any job that he takes will cut into, and not be on top of that salary.

2 huge changes happened in the offense from October to November, quicker passing game and variations in run game.

OL had fewer missed blocks, but a similar number of ineffective blocks. Guys still got beat physically but didn't leave defenders unblocked.

Take a minute today to think about those poor sailors at Pearl Harbor, 1941. The Arizona took a direct shot while the Oklahoma capsized. Many men in the Oklahoma died from starvation. Infamy.

Wolken: Donβt be surprised if former USF player and current Tennessee asst Larry Scott gets a look at USF. Did a good job as Miami interim last yr.

Have s feeling we're going to have Charlie Strong back in Florida very soon:

Good point, would be an excellent hire by USF. Should make recruiting interesting.

Jerry Jeudy WILL official visit
Jerry will be on campus for his official visit either Thursday and Friday or Saturday and Sunday.
This official visit was set up after a GREAT in home visit from Richt, Dugans, & Rumph.

Interesting for who? USF isn't taking anyone from Miami. Don't care if Nick Saban is hired.

Uhhh, at USF?? Really? U do know Golden is gone, right?
Stupid comment of the YEAR goes to anyone who thinks USF will be stealing UM recruits, regardless of the coach.

What's next, Butch stealing UM recruits at FIU? No.
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | December 07, 2016 at 04:10 PM
I don't see us losing players to USF initially, but that school is no FIU.
It will attract players if stays good with a coach like Strong.
Posted by: Go Canes! | December 07, 2016 at 04:26 PM
We are NEVER going to lose a player we want to fvcking USF...
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | December 07, 2016 at 04:30 PM
If Saban went to USF, they'd be recruiting with everyone. Period.
Posted by: The Dude | December 07, 2016 at 05:07 PM
We lost Kayvon Webster & Sam Barrington to USF. That was the same year we beat em' convincingly...the same year our win total was a number we haven't cracked since 03'...the same year we beat FSU.
I never said Strong would get who He wanted, IJS, Richt bet' not slip.

Yea, that's the cheapest i have seen online and that is most likely lot K and / or L which is on the other side of 408. Not a bad walk but still. I am waiting our blogs fearless leader and KY as to how we plan to proceed.
Last time the Canes played, we had 2 parking passes by stadium and everyone just migrated over. Worked out pretty good. You can still see the videos on Youtube...

The guy is a fantastic coach, perhaps the best ever.
But Bama gives him advantages no other coach has EVER had in college football.
He has the absolute best facilities and an unlimited amount of money to hire the beast assistants or to get whatever he feels gives him an edge.
Think Cristobal jumps from the U to USF for the same money just to learn under Saban?
No way.
Same goes with Kiffin and the rest.
They're working for Saban because he's great AND they can make more there then just about anywhere else. If they could only make a third or even half of what they make now there is zero percent chance they would work for him at USF.
And as great as he is, he isn't building a dynasty in Tampa with average assistant coaches, middle of the road facilities and flying commercial to visit recruits.
And he most certainly won't have the number one class in college football year in and out.
Posted by: Go Canes! | December 07, 2016 at 09:38 PM
They hire him at USF tomorrow and he will compete with anyone. Thats a part of being the best ever. He would still get great coaches to come work for him at USF. His spotlight is bright, if he went to USF coaches, recruits and fans would flock to that program.
Posted by: The Dude | December 07, 2016 at 10:30 PM
The only thing Saban has over the other great coaches though is that he stayed. Carroll at USC was just as good. Butch jumped to the NFL or he could have gone on a run, Jimmy Johnson etc. I dont understand thd whole "he flopped in the NFL" ish. I think that comes from a bunch of butt hurt Dolphins fans. He didnt flop in the NFL, he just bailed on it for one of the top 5 jobs in American sports, although, he did kind of turn Bama into that.
Posted by: The Dude | December 07, 2016 at 10:33 PM
Every university has a turning point. Miami under Howard, Bama wasnt the juggernaught it was until Saban, Baylor was dominating Texas and was spending money. USF hires Saban... turning point.
Posted by: The Dude | December 07, 2016 at 10:45 PM
Posted by: The Dude | December 07, 2016 at 10:45 PM
This is all true, but he ain't turning USF into Bama.
They don't have the facilities, fan base, obsessed boosters, TV contract, bag men or infrastructure to support a demanding, ego-maniacal jerk like Saban.
The two entities together created this perfect storm. Each needs the other to maintain this monstrosity.

Don't know what to think about whats going on with recruiting.
Lots of rumors of silent commits and a late push at positions of need, but nothing concrete.

Be patient there. DeeJay Dallas said he's got this. Oh, and Banda is turning out to be one of our best recruiters.
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | December 08, 2016 at 09:24 AM
Guys, we have a real staff who knows and does play the recruiting game. We're good now. Let that fear of losing everyone go. Golden is gone.
Example: CJ Henderson has been rumored to be signed and sealed to UF, and wouldn't take any more OV's, but now all of a sudden he's taking an OV to UM.
Anthony McFarland is a silent commit. 100% positive. Evidenced by Richt telling WQAM that we have 2 RB's committed when we only have Robert Burns.
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | December 08, 2016 at 09:27 AM

On the radar?
1. Jerry Jeudy
2. Tedarrel Slaton
3. Jhavonte Dean (think we get him)
4. Tre McKitty (think we get him too)
5. Devonte Smith
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | December 08, 2016 at 09:31 AM
I think we get Slaton, too.
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | December 08, 2016 at 09:31 AM
DB recruiting:
I think we have a real chance with CJ Henderson and Antwan Collier should be a Cane, too.
Like I said above, I think we get the #1 JUCO CB, Jhavonte Dean. Immediate starter opposite (most likely) starter Malik Young.
DeeJay Dallas can play DB or WR. Might do both.
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | December 08, 2016 at 09:36 AM
^^^ So no McFarland because youre sure he's already committed?
Posted by: The Dude | December 08, 2016 at 09:41 AM

Jeudy may not visit now. Damn Saban...
