It has been ten long years since the University of Miami had won a bowl game.
The bowl win drought at Miami lasted longer than three U.S. Presidencies.
But that long drought is over and your Miami Hurricanes are winners once again.
Now it is time to crank the FUN dial to 10 and celebrate like the good old days.
Just breathe deep and relax Canes fans. Enjoy the victory for once in a while.
We are now grilling and chilling with the ACC title next up on the wish list.

Dont forget that absurdly awful pick six.
Kaaya sails two or three high passes early then finishes 19 for his last 21 with 4 TDs and he still gets hammered here by the usual suspects.
Imagine if he threw up a 9-27 with a pick six...

Cook has declared 4 the draft- lets see if Jumbo can win without riding cooks coat tails

Posted by: WWIN | December 31, 2016 at 04:42 PM
Washington messed up when they were getting a drive going and fumbled, flipping field position for the remainder of the half. And then obviously the pick-6. Also, Bama getting away with major holding,
Browning is looking like a rattled Kaaya.
Posted by: BEERicane | December 31, 2016 at 04:44 PM
UW gonna be alright. But Coach Pete should have tried for the FG throw at the end there.

Huskies doing the right things defensively, making Hurts beat them throwing. Not that good of a passer, yet. Wash. Will need a t.o. Or 2 to get back in the game, if not this game is over.

College football polls which matter the most.
ESPN Power football index
14. Miami, Florida
Sagarin's ratings
13. Miami, Florida
The bottom line: Richt's team is a LEGITIMATE solid on down Top 15 team!
And the expansive sky is the ceiling on how far Miami can go in it's quest to become a MAJOR PLAYER in college football again. huh.
Posted by: TheeMackJones | December 31, 2016 at 02:39 PM
I Agree that these rankings are about right. The Canes team that finished the season on a 5-0 streak could beat most ranked teams

Yes, it reminds me of the 90s. First it was Warrick Dunn. Then it was Peter Warrick. After seven years of that hype at FSU, I was half expecting a "Dunn Peters" to emerge and be a thorn in our side for four more years.
Posted by: TonyCane | December 31, 2016 at 05:30 PM
You guys have to be talking about different metrics. QBR only applies to one position.
Posted by: BEERicane | December 31, 2016 at 05:30 PM
The officiating here is awful. That was roughing!
Posted by: BEERicane | December 31, 2016 at 05:32 PM
I take that back. It wasn't roughing, it was acting!
Posted by: BEERicane | December 31, 2016 at 05:33 PM
UW is having to max protect in the passing game. It's a major issue.

Posted by: BigWindyCane1 | December 31, 2016 at 05:54 PM
Well, UW has all kind of fight in them but as expected Bama D and talent over all is just too much.
Petersen is an amazing coach.

Canes BBall destroys the Wolfpack by 18. Solid ACC win.
Posted by: BEERicane | December 31, 2016 at 06:37 PM
As much as our defense has accomplished, it would be nice if they could get more interceptions and more sacks. Still, it is a good thing to see steady improvement under DIAZ. He really did a great job with young players.
Look for Jaquan JOHNSON to lead the secondary next season, and I expect a lot more turnovers caused by this D
Posted by: BigWindyCane1 | December 31, 2016 at 06:38 PM
Coach L never disappoints. The Canes men BB are finding a way to win

The good news is, I need a new Lurker. I used and abused him throughout 2016. I'm looking for a new azz to slay in 2017. Dr H has a strong application to be his replacement going,

No I actually thought you meant QBR since we were discussing both QB's bowl performances. I dont know what that stat is, I guess some type of season long rating.
You see, the key to playing devils advocate is to actually have a valid point about what's being discussed.
When staying on topic, which would you rather have:
24-34 passes, including 19 of your final 21 passes with four touchdowns, no interceptions and 282 yards
Or
9-27 with two TDs, an interception returned for a touchdown and 222 yards.
Posted by: Go Canes! | December 31, 2016 at 07:01 PM
He needs the Air Coryell WR corp...JJ's O-Lines in Dallas...Nebraska's 95' running game...nobody to say anything about em' ever...baby powder in His cleats...etc..
Posted by: CaneRock | December 31, 2016 at 11:32 AM
CR, I agree with most everything you post, but not this.
All Brad needs is consistently good playcalling to be a very good to great COLLEGE QB.
He is a good college qb. Just don't hang him out to dry and he will make plays.
The big thing is keeping him out of 3rd and long ALL GAME like he was ALL YEAR because of run run sack punt.
Design the play so he can throw quick and not think to much cause he gets antsy. This is no surprise with the way our line has whiffed.
He aint Peyton Manning or Vince Young, but he does have the tools to be a heisman winning SYSTEM QB .
Problem is, Richt's system sucks for talent on hand.
Posted by: TruCane81 | December 31, 2016 at 07:02 PM
How did the 2016 Heisman trophy winner look today?
Posted by: TruCane81 | December 31, 2016 at 07:04 PM
I worked the RAB and Citrus bowl.
Louisville fans were filing out before half down just 10.
It was one of those games where they were down 10 but it felt like 40.
Posted by: TruCane81 | December 31, 2016 at 07:09 PM
think I'd rather lose on a gutsy call for the win than losing to a deeper more talented team in OT.

Agreed. Their offense leaves a lot to be desired. Take care of the ball against them (albeit a tall order), you are in good shape.

Posted by: Go Canes! | December 31, 2016 at 07:01 PM
Here you go again... I posted GRADES for both players! The same grades that everyone has been usually lately... but since that GRADE didn't look good for Kaaya you had to search for something else 😂.
Kaaya was ONLY pressured SEVEN times on 35 attempts. He didn't make any throws that you couldn't have made.
While on the other hand Francois was pressured NINETEEN times on 32 attempts... imagine how many sacks that would have been for Kaaya. But let's keep complaining about how bad our O-line is lol!
Another thing...Kaaya has had NFL talent to work with EVERY YEAR here so can we stop this talk about him not having the talent around him like Francois and etc..
Posted by: WWIN | December 31, 2016 at 07:36 PM
One more time for ya GC...
Miami Hurricanes
Quarterback grade: Brad Kaaya, 58.4
Kaaya benefits from work after the catch
While Miami QB Brad Kaaya amassed 282 passing yards, 65 percent of his yardage was collected after the catch by his receivers. Regardless, Miami walked away with the bowl victory and Kaaya led the way by tossing four touchdown passes to four different receivers.
