Go Canes!

We have 22 commits already and it sounds like we are looking good for 3-4 more which would put us at 26 or so.

How can we have a bunch of projects on top of that?

UMike

I think Go had a Sheldon moment and missed the sarcasm lol

The college football arms race is beginning to cause casualties.

P.S. Epi is a jerk face.

You didn't even read the damn article did ya?

I'll summarize: Cal had to spend hundreds of millions to earthquake proof the stadium, resulting in high debt service. The author used this as an example of sky rocketing costs of sports teams.

He then went on to say that other programs use debt to grow (like any business) and won't have any issues, so long as the TV contracts don't dry up.

SO.... you actually prover my point that 1) Football is and has been profitable. 2) you are the jerk.

It was actually a mis-type and was supposed to say Richt ISN'T going to take projects, but I am good for that kind of sarcasm once in a while. My bad.

Yes it is. But the bigger picture is if there's even a hiccup in future cash flow it or a large unexpected expense it could spell gigantic trouble for a lot of schools.

Sarcasm?

No.

Nailed it.

Shooting at FLL airport. Prayers to anyone who's there. Except the shooter. Hope they get killed.

Per Porter of PBP: According to one all-encompassing efficiency metric, Football Outsiders’ “F+” rankings, the Hurricanes are No. 12 nationally. That’s third-best in the ACC, behind only Clemson (No. 2), which plays in the national championship Monday against Alabama, and Florida State (No. 7).

Gibson decommitts.

Andrew Ivins with 247:

I just want to start this off by saying that for the past few months I kept hinting that I wasn't sold on the reports that Billy Gibson was going to enroll early at Miami. I continued to hear that there was academic work on the table for him and that getting him into school for the spring semester was going to be a bit of a stretch.

With that being said, the Hurricanes coaches liked everything about Gibson as a prospect and he did indeed get the necessary test score to get into Miami, but then things started to change.

I was told by a source that Gibson, and his father, began flirting with Oregon and Miami told him that if he was having second thoughts, they were going to move in a different direction. That's basically what happened on Friday. I expect Miami to give some other defensive backs a look with Gibson now out of the picture. Again, they liked Gibson, but they weren't going to play the games.

There's more shooter(s)...

HerbieIbis

Tyler McMeans was a Jucco and Tony u for got about rb Andrew Johnson who left and went to Pitt.
Gibson leaves so what, he was 3, so we find another 3 to take his place. 3's are C'S, which means they are average at this point in their careers but this also doesn't mean with good coaching they can't develop into 4's and 5's.
A lot of defensive players were on those list Tony posted, no wonder we have constantly have low numbers on that side of the ball.

HerbieIbis

Richt being his own oc is probably saving the u more money plus he could offer more money to his assistants. Don't like him as oc, to conservative at times and doesn't have a killer instinct. Only time will tell and if we start a greenhorn next year he will really put the clamps down.

Orrrrr, He probably doesn't have enough money to hire an OC because we're paying that crook Folden.

Go Canes!

He's OC cause he wants to be OC.

We played great football on both sides of the ball the entire second half of the season and won every game easily.

Imagine what will happen when he gets his type of offensive line here.

Herbieibis

The defense played great all Year and the oh was up and down and that goes for the last 5 games and I would never say were great but efficient.

Go Canes!

Posted by: Herbieibis | January 06, 2017 at 06:35 PM

We put up 37 a game over our last five. All against ACC opponents then the 15th ranked team in the country.

If that's just efficient, I'll take 13-14 efficient games next year.

U know it's a shift in things when I say

Yeah. STARS MATTER but 3's not so much.

Go Canes!

Just stop with your 3 star nonsense. Please.

Dude on a Pale Horse

Young was a 3 star too and he's been rock solid.

Dude on a Pale Horse

^^^ under the radar 3 star that hasnt gotten the praise other freshman have. Will likely start next year, and looks like he's got a bunch of talent.

Dude on a Pale Horse

^^^ Not under the radar, I meant underrated.

Dude on a Pale Horse

JaQuan Johnson was a 3 star I think he's been a great player.

Dude on a Pale Horse

Garvin is a 3 star but should be a 4.

Dude on a Pale Horse

Both McCloud and Pinkney as 3 stars had better freshmen years than 5 star Matthew Thomas at FSU.

Dude on a Pale Horse

<----- Stars still matter though.

thirstybuzzardcane

I think the reason a lot of these recruits get 3 stars instead of 4 has to do with there size. Pickney and McCloud weren't your typical 225lb linebacker coming out of high school.

BigWindyCane1

Jaquan Johnson was one of the best defensive leaders and DBs I have seen in the area over the last four years. JJ will lead the defense next season, get at least 5 or more interceptions and be among the top 3 Canes in tackles. He will score at least one defensive TD. Vault it!

Herbieibis

Go Canes u bro are a hopeless romantic. We should have beaten those last 5 teams, it wasn't like they were world beaters. Where were we at when we played a little comp, losing 4 in a row! Stars do matter, how do u think Bama, OSU FSU and a few others stay at or near the top, it's because they are loaded 3 deep with 4 and 5 star players not with a bunch of 3's and a few 4's. Saban's good but he ain't that good, without all those studs. We need to be somewhere near 13 to 14 four star players to get us over the hump and another thing, we have to fill positions up so we have depth every year we have at least 2 positions that we are rail thin at. We have a dam good defensive staff, finally! I still am not sure of the offense yet.

Go Canes!

I was here when we those games. All of them tough as hell to take.

What's the point?

Team's can't get better?

Is USC the same team that started the season 1-3?

Down the stretch we beat an NC State team that lost at the last minute to FSU and in OT to Clemson.

We pummeled a Pitt team that beat Penn State and Clemson.

We beat a West Virginia team ranked 15th.

Pretty much all by blowout btw.

We got much better as the season progressed.

Your star obsession doesn't allow you to see any of that.

CaneRock

Imagine what will happen when he gets his type of offensive line here.

Posted by: Go Canes! | January 06, 2017 at 05:59 PM

LOL...the same type of offensive line that "played great football the entire second half of the season and won every game easily"?

CaneRock

All this arguing about *s, and I only see one (Njoku) 3* that balled on offense.

Why?

TonyCane

Agreed Herbi!

SOUP

Go Canes... go to time out.

U are so predictable, boring and obnoxious.

SOUP

Here is an interview with Go Canes:

SOUP: Go Canes please tell me the three weakest areas that the Canes need to improve on in 2017?

GO: The Canes have no weaknesses.

SOUP: So what do the Canes do to get better?

GO: They cannot get any better they beat Bama.

SOUP: Uh, the Canes did not play Bama?

GO: Well if they did they would beat them!

OK, thanks for that...

Ohio_Cane

Whyche was a beast at JUCO. U saw the tape. Not his fault he was in D'no's scheme. That, and getting in trouble didn't help.

For the Recruiting Peeps on here how many guys can we sign in this class now? Can we sign about 30 guys? I am including early enrolies.
