Terrance...that MAY be true. Heck I flipped to Jacksonville State on NSD so anything COULD happen?

Terrance Sullivan

Lol they might not make it to Spring my guess is we will see more departures this month.

Plus with these 10 guys coming in don't be surprised to see a couple veterans wash out and transfer after spring. We are replacing lesser talented players with more talented and skilled players.

There IT is right there.

I wanted to add my 2 cents. We know this staff develops players both physically and in terms of football. We just signed 24 players and 10 are Early enrollees. Having that many of these guys get in early will really help this team in term of depth. I think these kids almost get an extra year of development when you come in early like that. This helps a team to know what it has and helps in recruiting and roster management etc. Plus with these 10 guys coming in don't be surprised to see a couple veterans wash out and transfer after spring. We are replacing lesser talented players with more talented and skilled players.

Between last year and this year we signed 43 guys, about half this team is CMR's guys now. 1 has been dismissed and we have 28 in the program at this moment being developed. Let's see what happens.

Brady/Pats kept doing what they did best...take what you give them. They stuck with the game plan....improved and protected Brady better, sent with the short pass, quick drop and fire...so pass rush was slowed down....and then the rushers got tired as the pass kept working. Consistency is one of Pats secrets they sitck at it and make it work, and tweek it here and there.

VA Cane

I would agree with the run...or short pass....because the big play to the WRs may have been the big play all year....the bread and butter, the basis of your offense is the diversity...doing what works. The big play...there were a few....but in the second half the Pats took Julio away for most part....but the run...or short pass to the back which is like a run was open. Short drop or quick pitch or handoff works...maybe not every play...but it was there and Pat LBs could not consistently cover it. go with what works and what they give you.

Even at the end, just run it into the line of scrimmage, kick your field goal and go get your trophy.

Yup, even if you rush the ball 3 times and lose a yard or two each time you are still well within field goal range and the clock keeps running - BALL GAME. As much as I give props the Pats, the Falcons lost that game.....

VA Cane

Agreed GC....they were successful running...not every play but they moved he ball had some explosive plays!!! Thats and the short pass to the back....just like a run. I like that....and hope we use our backs like that this year!!!!

VA Cane

Freemans injury hurt them in the short game, but Coleman came in, missed a block badly, and did not do what he he did all season...catch the ball out of the backfield. Shananhan got away from what worked.
You want to set the big guy Julio up....but you do it by that short game. The Pats could not cover it...but ATL got away from it later in the game...and when Freeman went out, Coleman was not used. Those 5 step drops take time....and wear guys out. You chip with the back..then get it to him. Much better than the sack hold....it gets out quicker.

not that i know, but i try to do the things that work...and make them stop it. Pats never got away from their game...the short pass and the YAC.....they stuck with it. Brady is the best QB...but more important...HC staff players...Pats are best TEAM!!! JMO

Go Canes!

Just read after going up 28-3, Atlanta only ran the ball 5 times.

They deserved to lose.

VA Cane

TC I agree with you about snapping the ball; take more time to see what the Pats are doing to counter them....the slants, find your back, the short stuff was open.

The back completely missing the blocking assignment on the Matty Ice fumble...big error...
The holding call, which was obvious, you cannot make that error....
Ryan several times, but in that last sequence especially, taking the sack and pushing them back further
get rid of it...throw it in the seats. They were still doing the 5 step stuff...instead of getting it out quick and picking up yardage.

I really felt The O rushed...but when the Pats started coming back you need to look a little longer before rushing the attack.

Brady showed a lot of poise...the whole team did they never really panicked....thats a big key to coming back.
Sad for Atl, respect for Pats!!!! Never Quit!

Well played.

VA Cane

Nice article on the new guys. glad to see them in here and getting used to college life and football. Play the young guns!!

The one thing I will say as a coach is that too many talking heads...Greenberg, Golic, Bayless, Stephen Smith...all say Brady won his 5th. Listen to what TB12 said" we all brought each other back." It takes a team to win, many different guys contribute, and there are leaders all over the field. Never underestimate the TEAM concept. TB12 is the best, but it took great effort from each player to win. I find that the key to success; listen how the Pats say team sacrifice selflessness...thats how they win so often. Very impressive!!
I was a little taken back by some of the HOF people...Terrell Davis good back....HOF?
Curt Warner...really good player but HOF?
Jerry Jones HOF....never in a million years....his ego has made the league and a good franchise easy to hate!!!!

Worst choke job ever.

Go Canes!

Raize that's the worst choke job I've ever seen.

Even at the end, just run it into the line of scrimmage, kick your field goal and go get your trophy.
