Hey guys.....

WE COMIN!! This may top the 2008 class in ranking and will absolutely perform light years better on the field. The world shall be notified, The U is back!!

Hightower is a MAJOR get at WR! IMG pipeline is alive and well!

86Cane

YAWN...did we beat FSU? Did we win the ACC Coastal Division? Did we win the ACC? Did we compete for a National Championship?

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming...2017 is THE year we change college football again. In 2018 we win it ALL!

Terrance Sullivan

Right on 86. Total agreement.

Dude (Operating Insomniac Level 7)

A good comparison for Hightower is Michael Crabtree.

Dude (Operating Insomniac Level 7)

Whats funny are the so called 3 stars in this outstanding class. Randy Russell & Delone Scaife are 4 star caliber.

This off season is more fun than the last 10 actual seasons.

How so?

Posted by: Go Canes! | March 01, 2017 at 09:54 PM

Watching the commitments roll in has been a good time. Losing to UNC, VT etc not so much.

That's Obviously some hyperbole, but we have the #1 class now!

i was just messing with you. If youre not overwhelmingly excited about what's happening here right now, that's on you.

And kind of sad.

Go Canes!

BY SUSAN MILLER DEGNAN

The University of Miami will soon embark on its first phase of the competition to find the replacement for former starting quarterback Brad Kaaya.

But the public will not have a chance to see any of it.

The Hurricanes announced their spring football schedule on Wednesday, saying in a written release that “all spring practices will be closed to the public’’ and that “Miami will not host a spring game due to the ongoing renovations at Hard Rock Stadium.”

Last month, UM athletic director Blake James addressed the spring game issue.

“Obviously, if you have a spring game you want to have it at your stadium,’’ James said. “Due to the renovations that are ongoing at Hard Rock Stadium we’re not going to have a spring game there. Then it’s really figuring out what makes sense for us as a program and those are things we’re still trying to finalize...’’

Last year’s spring game was at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. The public also was invited to attend a scrimmage at Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach.

Of this year’s 15 spring sessions, all except the two not listed (April 8 and 15) will be open to the media for the first 15 minutes. The final session, on April 22, is at Boca Raton High School, coach Mark Richt’s alma mater.

Though the Hurricanes are calling each session a “practice,’’ the two closed sessions and final one will likely be run in a scrimmage format.

Per Miami, here are the practices (closed to public):

▪ Tuesday, March 21 (9:30 a.m.)

▪ Thursday, March 23 (9:30 a.m.)

▪ Saturday, March 25 (9:30 a.m.)

▪ Tuesday, March 28 (9:30 a.m.)

▪ Thursday, March 30 (9:30 a.m.)

▪ Saturday, April 1 (9:30 a.m.)

▪ Tuesday, April 4 (9:30 a.m.)

▪ Thursday, April 6 (9:30 a.m.)

▪ Tuesday, April 11 (9:30 a.m.)

▪ Thursday, April 13 (9:30 a.m.)

▪ Tuesday, April 18 (9:30 a.m.)

▪ Thursday, April 20 (9:30 a.m.)

▪ Saturday, April 22 (12 p.m.) at Boca Raton High.

I can get on board with that comparison. Minus the work ethi. When he got to the NFL. Word around was that the money and fame got to him and he thought he made it and quit working out as much.

Ethic. Blah

Congrats Umike.......that is awesome.

Would love to hear from the folks who had doubts about CMR when Miami hired him.

He is certainly showing why we are so incredibly lucky to have him.

Every day CMR's doing things only a few great head coaches can.

I had my doubts. I have been silenced and transformed. Now about that offense ....

I love what Richt has done so far. He's making all of the right moves. I believe he will have the "U" competing for championships. I still need to see more before I'm sold that he can win it all...

Agreed.

But I think as fan all we can ask for us to go into each season knowing we have the coaching and players to expect to be in our conference championship and have a shot at the final four.

You can count on one hand the programs who can say that every year.

Will be nice when we're one of them.

He's locking down the state of Miami again. He's got elite defensive coaching.

That's Miami football.

Uncle Luke..

Y'all see how whenever Miami get top recruits he doesn't say anything but had that been fsu and uf he would have been singing praises.

I don't ever remember Luke threatening UF or FSU to the NCAA

Luke is a POS that shouldn't even be talked about by Miami fans anymore.

Gee, who knew that running a fast & aggressive Miami style defense would turn things around so quickly? Who knew a HC with a good reputation could have great success at Miami? Lol. Miami is showing what it can do with people who know what theyre doing. Its a beast with good coaches. You have to really, really suck to lose at Miami.

1mg Of epi

Hightowers uncle said there were 5 commitments last weeekend. So far only 2 have announced.

I DID!

Dude (Operating Insomniac Level 7)

I think 10 wins in 2017 is a very realistic goal. If we do that or better, we can expect this class to stick together. If that happens... we probably wont have to mention the names Kiffin, Butch, Shannon or Strong on this blog ever again. 10 wins and keeping the staff intact will provide enough talent to cement us back in the elites.

10 regular season wins? There is no reason for anymore than 1 regular season loss next year... barring injuries of course. Other than FSU, we are more talented than anybody on the schedule. If the OC picks up where he left off last season we should be fine.

True, we don't know who the QB will be, but still...

LOL the comedy stylings of Raizecane doing his Go Canes impression. I was and still am a Butch Davis fan. But that does not mean that I am against CMR. I want him to be successful.

itsa_canes_thing

So I would love for some to provide some research on this but I know CMR recruited well at GA but he seems to be on another level here, at least as of late.

True or nah!

I'd say nah.

UGA consistently had Top five classes over the last several years. I think the difference is he's just got so much more talent available to him within driving distance of campus now.

Come on now, Raize. Anyone with a brain knew Richt would upgrade the program significantly from the three stooges era of U M head coaches.

The concerned citizenry of Cane Land know he will win alot of game. That's his track record.

He also has a track record of not getting over the hump in the area that maters most to US.....

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS!

His stewardship of the program has been masterful. He is a big time coach.

But he has to show better on the field in BIG GAMES!

We have a juggernaught in the making and the only wweaknesses I see preventing a multi-title run are offensive game planning, playcalling, and Searles.

All that said, it does feel good to see the team operating like a big time program again.

Thanks to the players, coaches, and all for their hard work.

Rumor is that they'll hold 3 scrimmages. 1 in each county.
