They Don't Make Them Like That Anymore

George Edward Popadak passed away at the age of 86 on Friday August 18th at his home in Miami. He married Ethel Marie Deane and is survived by his five children: George Michael, Gregory Vinton, Deborah Marie, Thomas Deane, and James Joseph. He lived a long, happy and productive life serving at St. Michael's Catholic Church and later working at the University of Miami.

He also served his Country with distinction in the U.S. Marine Corps where he fought in Korea and later served as a Staff Sargent at Camp LeJune, N.C. He would later serve as Post Commander for a Veterans of Foreign Wars post in South Dade and was also an honorary member of the American Legion.

He was a man of great character and discipline who was loved and respected by all who knew him and will be fondly remembered for his caring and fun-loving spirit. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 24th at the Caballero-Woodlawn Funeral Home South in Kendall from 11 AM to 1 PM.

May he rest in eternal peace.
