Your Miami Hurricanes beat the Duke Blue Devils in convincing fashion in Durham, NC on Friday night by the score of 31-6. We are also pleased to announce that no laterals were needed during this domination of an ACC team.
As all you know, I predicted this outcome and even put it in writing right here on Canespace the day before the game.
You see I have good information that Mark Richt and his merry band of warriors have been playing it very close to the vest and hiding several key aspects of their team, game plan and play calling until they feel it is needed against better competition on the schedule.
Certainly this concept is not new or hard to believe or understand nor would it be the first time a team or coach employed this strategy going into a season.
However, in this particular case this is much richer and bit juicier from the information I have and all the indications we have seen so far.
There are 10 key factors that I believe Miami is prepared to unleash on their opponents this season. Against Duke, we saw only a two of these concepts employed but rest assured there are more coming. So watch closely Hurricane fans, the best is yet to come!
Boo, hiss.

Only way we don't win by 10 or more is if richt lays an egg like last year!
I stick by my original prediction:
27-13 canes with 6 sacks
Posted by: AeroCane | October 03, 2017 at 11:00 AM
Imo the only way we lose is if we turn the ball over, especially in the second half.
FSU's problems are on offense, that D is going to be tough all day on Saturday.

Raize, I like you may be suffering from some Golden era stuff. According to the Golden formula we are primed to lose. We are undefeated, they lost their starting QB and have a back up, have lost two games...which means we surely won't win!!
But I think it changes this year. I'm going to wipe the rest of the Golden stink off of me and pick my Canes to end the skid

Ok
I'm in north Florida and I hate to say it but most of my friends are huge Nole fans - they are actually saying 'it shouldn't be tough - it's Miami and they haven't played anybody' and 'richt can't win a big game'
We have to crush these effers!

No Laterals Needed
Yes, that's true! But it would have been fun, if, toward the end of the game, we ran a multi-lateral play (and we scored), if only to reinforce our image as the most brazane college football program in the country.

An average of two to three 'big' wins over ranked or rival teams regardless of rank a year before he got to UM and had gold-hen-girl-loser-for-life-against-the-primary-rival-dude ruin the streak in the regular season. I'd say he's overdue if anything for a breakthrough ahead of schedule then. He's also winning games at UM at a higher clip percentage-wise right now than he did for his entire career in the SEC, for what it's worth.

U know the only reason I’m leaking my chops for this game? Remember how we battered & abused Francois last year? This year, we r facing a worse FSU O-line and a QB that’s skinnier than Jacory Harris and that’s a freshman and not particularly fast on his feet.
Can’t wait!

FSU QB will get hit, hit some more, and then hit some more again. We are going to be blitzing from all angles. This guy will be a deer in the headlights! We just have to be careful of that long pass.

Miami - 31
FSU - 17
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | October 03, 2017 at 04:23 PM
Miami, Florida 20 FSU 13
Richt's relative CONSERVATIVE play calling, and Walton not being ' 100% ' percent should keep this rivalry game closer than it should be. dUh. Also, mighty FSU still has some mean and nasty athletes on defense. hUh.
The bottom line: On PAPER Miami should win this conference game by at least ' 20 points, ' or more. But Good Ol' Boy Jimbo is still FSU's sideline chief.

This is a huge opportunity to swing recruiting our way. If we can go to Talley and get a good with, giving them at least their 3rd loss in front of recruits, it will go a long way in recruiting Florida.

Glad to see the coaches and the school are not just going to roll over in this investigation. As they say in old movies, "They got nuttin!" This is a "he said, he said" story, and none of the UM staff turns up on any of the wiretaps.
With the firm denials of the UM staff, the AAU coach, and the amily of the recruit, the whole story hinges on a crooked money-man and the Adidas rep. I don't care what UM did or didn't do, play this hard and close to the vest and make the FBI PROVE their case beyond a reasonable doubt. There is no reason that UM should not contend for, nor excuse themselves from a run at the ACC Title and another shot at a Sweet 16 birth in March!!
Go 'canes!!

I am rolling with Soup on my prediction -- Canes win 34-13!
Canes D gives a top 10 defensive performance, with FSU getting a meaningless score at the end of the game to get 13, with the outcome fully settled by the beginning of the fourth quarter. Sheriffs will get some reps, and even bend the knee at the end to kill the clock.
Seven straight losses is hard to forget, but a 21 point win will make me feel a whole lot better

I think Rosier is a leader. Not on par with the aforementioned but he's got leadership qualities. I think most of the types of leaders we're looking for have yet to reveal themselves, but they're there. The cream will rise to the top!! It took 12 years to crash the bus, it's gonna take 1-2 more years before the field is littered with the type of talent you described. UM can compete now at a high level, but the depth just isn't there yet.
