Your Miami Hurricanes beat the Duke Blue Devils in convincing fashion in Durham, NC on Friday night by the score of 31-6. We are also pleased to announce that no laterals were needed during this domination of an ACC team.
As all you know, I predicted this outcome and even put it in writing right here on Canespace the day before the game.
You see I have good information that Mark Richt and his merry band of warriors have been playing it very close to the vest and hiding several key aspects of their team, game plan and play calling until they feel it is needed against better competition on the schedule.
Certainly this concept is not new or hard to believe or understand nor would it be the first time a team or coach employed this strategy going into a season.
However, in this particular case this is much richer and bit juicier from the information I have and all the indications we have seen so far.
There are 10 key factors that I believe Miami is prepared to unleash on their opponents this season. Against Duke, we saw only a two of these concepts employed but rest assured there are more coming. So watch closely Hurricane fans, the best is yet to come!
And one of if not THE best receiver in the game!! We got this!!
Go 'canes!!!!!!!

I am going to get some "poo poo's for this but I think FSU wins by a FG this weekend.
Miami has beaten BC and Toledo which are OK and Duke who hasn't beaten anyone that was good.....at least my betting side thinks so.
FSU has lost to Bama and NC State - both which are pretty good. I would not be surprised one bit of FSU made in 8 straight..... let the "boo hissing" begin.

Weather reports continue to show heavy rain and 20 mph winds starting Saturday evening so we could be in a game that has deteriorating conditions as it progresses.
Understand leadership is important but imo it's going to come down to which unit controls the LOS and who doesn't turn the ball over.
If it does have to come down to "a guy" imo it has to be Walton doing for us what Cook did for them for the last three years.

I still think we win, but I don't know why some of guys think it will be a blow out lol... On paper we should absolutely win, but this is a rivalry game on the road against a team with just as much or more talent then us. We have the horses, I think it comes down to CMR and his play calling.

3 times too many Sarasota!
If the weather is as bad as Go predicts, it'll keep the score down. Walton's ankle still gimpy. This is most incentive fsu is going to have all season. I'm going to say Canes D scores one tho... 24-17 CANES

Miami has lost 7 years in a row.
Miami's last victory in the series was on 09/07/2009.
That will be 2,952 days ago when the game starts.
This game will be a toss up. It has been the past three years.

My thinking is Diaz is for real and their OL is not so good. Also, the main reason I believe we will will ... They don't have Cane killer Cool anymore. He alone beat us 2 of the last 3 years

At least our QB can run if its raining which is a advantage. Now if we had Kaaya we would be in trouble.

I bet they move the game to noon. Other than that our defense will prevail. We're gonna whip some azz. FSU should've lost that game last week to Wake. Miami has more weapons this season and it is their game to win. We got this!!
Go 'canes!!

30Cinco, couple that with the ability to immediately play and you have a scenario where a Alabama can form unofficial affiliations with smaller 1A schools like UAB and use them for recruiting surplus until the time is necessary to "call them up". Or try to freely poach the underrecruited emerging talent at places like Miami.
It's good for the players, but could create less parity in CFB

All kidding aside they should probably move the game to Friday night. There's no telling what the storm will do over the warm Gulf waters, plus the community should be in storm prep/evacuation mode on Saturday IMO.
Posted by: Sarasota 'cane | October 04, 2017 at 04:03 PM
The 7:00pm game on Friday is Memphis vs UCONN so no threat of disrupting a big game. Play it at 8pm Friday on ABC and call it a day. If we're gonna change the time/date we gotta do it earlier rather than later so the team has time to prepare for the triple option that GT is gonna hit us with the following week.
It takes time to learn that gimmicky offense and GT is in that phase of their 3-4 year cycle where they're hitting on all cylinders. I'm sure we'll know sooner than later about a Friday night kick or a noon kick on Saturday.

"Sully, I would prefer it not be that close. Let's go with
Miami - 31
FSU - 17
Posted by: Ohio_Cane | October 03, 2017 at 04:23 PM"
After all these years you're finally starting to get better at this blobbing thing, Wes.
On a neutral field that's exactly what I'd predict too, but they might have as much as a five point advantage due to the home crowd so maybe 30-21? That would stretch the single digit margin of victory streak to four in a row while still not being a one score 'close' game, so I can see it. Either way, first team to 30 is winning this, felonious sex-assault university probably can't win it again unless they turn it to a first to 20 game anyway.

We're all just spit balling. I prefer to leave it at 3:30pm, but with the storm projected to make landfall at 8-9am Sunday that seems unlikely. Noon would be the next best time, but even that seems like too much for a game of this magnitude, logistics, and whatnot.
Posted by: Sarasota 'cane | October 04, 2017 at 04:29 PM
I wouldn't care if it was at 10-11am either. We're gonna win so I'm concerned with the time we break the chief's spear and BBQ the horse. Just kick the ball this week!!
Or...move the game to Hardrock!! I would drive down last minute from Atlanta for that!!!

It's gotta be Friday if it kicks in Tallahassee. Tropical storm force winds will arrive during the day on Saturday and they cannot have the fans driving around in that mess after the game. On top of that it looks like Tallahassee is on the wrong side of the storm right now so they will get some major damage when it comes ashore making a game on Monday impossible.
I would hope that they move the game to Saturday to a neutral site or to the Hardrock, but just like the UM players and coaches after Irma they don't want to be on the road while their family, friends, and stuff are back home in the line of fire. That's what leads me to believe they will kick this thing on Friday night in Tallahassee.
Posted by: Sarasota 'cane | October 04, 2017 at 09:21 PM
