Is the roof on the IPF? Hopefully not. That way, there might be less damage.

For those evacuating along I-75, Hotels are full and gas stations are sold out as far as Tifton, GA.

CaneRock

Yes He would love UAB a city school in Birmingham.

Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | September 07, 2017 at 07:02 PM

Yes Sirrrr, Birmingham is nice. I'm surprised they haven't had a pro sports team since the Birmingham Stallions.

I like this Rosier kid.

At least not after midnight and never get him wet.

CGNC

Hi party people - riding out #bishIrma LOL. Dealing with the people dealing with the storm is wearing. Had a flock of Ibis in my yard this afternoon...

πŸœπŸŒ€

I saw to bucks on the turnpike about 8am very unusual behavior for male deer and happen to live in area with an ass ton of gopher tortoises and they have been out all week like crazy.

TonyCane

Ron, you're right. Did some quick research:

At the National Hurricane Center building in Coral Gables, sustained winds of 115 mph (185 km/h) and gusts to 164 mph (264 km/h) were measured before the anemometer failed.

JCane

Cgnc:

The ibis is said to be the last bird to leave with an approaching storm and the 1st one to return, thus making it the mascot at the University of Miami.

Good luck to all. We will be riding this out in northern Palm Beach County. Hope all will be safe.

thirstybuzzardcane

That's huge for us that FSU cancelled their game. That game would of been a good warm up game for their QB. Now he's coming into our game with no experience at all.

Go Canes!

This thing is now set to split the state right down the middle, potentially affecting the 1-10 corridor as late as Wednesday.

I'm starting to think we'll be playing FSU on October 7th. We both have a bye that week.

raizecane

My company finally came to their senses and will be closing shop at noon today - so the rumor says.

No need for us to be on road and take up more space from folks trying to evacuate.

Ohio_Cane

If anyone posts/posted about coming to Ohio to get away from Irma and I miss it, post again or get with Soup for my contact info.

Yep. Which isn't as good as playing their brand new QB next week... It is what it is.

SOUP

The 15% bus has made the 700 mile trek Northwest to Downtown Montgomery Alabama here safe and sound with me. It went up the Turnpike to I-75 turn west on I-10 and North on US Highway 231 to I-85 West and a hit a few corners Downtown Montgomery and is now parked in the Parking Lot behind my Downtown Courtyard Apartment.

Ohio...very nice gesture/offer on your part.

I know, as long as I see them I am feeling alright. Terrance glad you made it.

CGNC

JCane - hopefully you are not in an evacuation zone. I am in the Acreage one block off Royal Palm and 63rd. According to the zones, I am to "shelter in place".

CaneRock

Irma dwarfs Andrew, hope this isn't the new norm.

Terrance Sullivan

Thank you CGNC. This is always a open invitation but especially in a emergency I don't have the biggest place but if any of you need to head north west. My place is open. And if it fills up I have friends who would open up their homes.

30CINCO

Those riding it out - stay safe.

HawaiiCane

Anyone trying to ride this out, as 30CINCO said, STAY SAFE! Hopefully all who are traveling are safe a remember that it can be a trying time and its easy to be on edge, as is everyone, else. Let your cooler head prevail on the road!

WE GOT LOVE FOR THE ENTIRE CANE FAMILY (EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU) & THE 305, 954, 562... WHEREVER ELSE! WE JUST WANT YOU SAFE!

HawaiiCane

PS - Rick Neuheisal is number one on my wanted list! He is "suspicious". I've blown up his twitter and if anyone wants to join be my guest! He owes "The U" an apology!!! #ufamily

DallasTX Cane

Legion: Be safe. Be smart. Ohio puts me to shame...if anyone is in Dallas, I have plenty of room. SOUP has (or once had) my personal info.

It was like moving a mountain, but I got my daughter out of Miami yesterday. Rest of the extended family is riding it out though. Seems that the cone has shifted slightly west since yesterday afternoon. The eye making landfall mid-south Glades is probably everyone's best scenario since the odds of it staying off the coast to the east seem to be decreasing. Still have surge up the east coast but keep strongest wk da over the Glades. We can hope.

Great big shout out to U CGNC!! Trust U have your water & food and are boarded up. Praying for U and everyone down there.

DallasTX Cane

By the way... any business that is not "essential" such as hospitals, pharmacies, water delivery guys, etc. have no business being open today or if they are, debating following early to give their staff time to handle personal business. We shut down FL operations Wednesday to give our staff Thu & Fri. And yes, they will be paid for a full 40 hours this week, next week, etc. gotta take care of yo people!

Just trying to help the only way I could from 1,000 miles away.

Go Canes!

Agree.

Reynolds: Canes DC Manny Diaz said it might take a miracle for football to be played in Florida NEXT weekend. Miami-FSU is no lock, folks.

Ohio_Cane

Just talked to a friend of mine who is a local sheriff deputy and is also on the WV national guard. They're already talking about being sent down to Florida on Monday, possibly.

NativeCane

For anyone evacuating north on I-75, a semi hit an overpass at hwy 90 in Lake City, traffic is being diverted......alternate routes are 301, 41, but 19 is prolly the best.

JCane

Good luck, cgnc (and all others). We are in a D zone, so don't need to evacuate. As it jogs further to the west the intensity reduces for us, although makes things worse for those on the west coast. Be well all.

Go Canes!

I live about 3 miles due west from the U. Thankfully the evacuations stopped about 12 blocks east of me though I wouldn't have left.

My wife and I just finished building our home in 2015, exceeding our already stringent buliding codes so I feel like we are safe here. Will have about 20 family members herre when all is said and done to ride it out with us.

This thing is going to be horrible and we are not going to duck it. Everyone who lives down here please get to the safest place you possibly can, including a shelter if needed.

Ohio_Cane

My thoughts and prayers for all of U to get through this with life and limb.

Coach Banda went OFF on twitter about people criticizing UM for cancelling:

Rick Nutheisel: I find the decision by Miami to cancel this game very suspicious. Just because there may be a chance of rain and gusty winds that MAY effect kicking is no excuse. If I were coach, I would expect my players to be out on that field. So what if there may be debris flying, these players are purported to be fast and can dodge any hurricane created obstacles. No, the simple fact is that despite the fact that Arkansas Western State is barely more talented than Bethune Cookman, Miami was clearly scared to play them. It is suspicious, and wrong. I sincerely hope that the NCAA will look into this, and that the community will rebel against supporting a team that is so selfish...and so suspicious.

toledocane

Neuheisel is such a tool. Stay safe down there guys!

BigWindyCane1

Dolphins shutting down south Florida operations and going to Los Angeles to prepare for week two in San Diego. The threat of Hurricane Irma is very serious, and it will impact preparations for the FSU game, if that game goes forward. For the first time in history, university of Miami campus was evacuated. This is how we learn how good CMR and this staff is, to keep everyone focused and ready for FSU amid a monumental distraction

BigWindyCane1

FSU will start a true freshman next week, if that game goes forward. No Dalvin Cook. This must be the year for the Canes to break that losing streak to FSU

This thing is fixing to be a Cat 5 again, *pronto*!

It will hit the #FLKeys first.

*Killer* storm surge. Flattening wind.

Get out!!!!

HawaiiCane

TonyCane, I have been blowing up his twitter and the twitter of Terry Mohajir for their asinine comments! I would encourage others to do so as well! This team and university deserve an apology.

HawaiiCane

Also I would like to say that Ephraim Banda (my LOF pick), Manny Diaz and CMR have expressed to the world what this is all about... UFAMILY!

F**k the Terry Mohajir's, the Rick Neuseihsal's, the Brett McMurphy's of the world! It's all about this 'Canes family!

I want all of those affected to be safe!!! We love you and want your safety!

Dude

Obviously if you can make it to Idaho Falls, my house is open to you, unless you are Epi of course. Fingers crossed for you Floridians. Be safe and hunker down real good. Not rooting for this cane.

Out here in CA. watching the weather Channel, worrying about family that are in Dade County and up past Orlando along with my UM family.
Praying for all of you. Be smart and stay safe as possible
Love all of you..

UM cancelled classes and all campus activities for Monday and Tuesday. Therefore, it looks like preparations for next Saturday's game won't begin until next Wednesday at the earliest.

Go Canes!

I don't think we're playing next Saturday.

Go Canes!

Forecast says that thing will stillb soaking Tallahassee on Wednesday so they likely won't be having classes either.

For anyone blowing up Herr Neuheisel's twitter.
Here are a couple of pics of debris from Andrew his players can dodge. I know the 2x4 is spot on. I shot video of it days after the storm.

I've maintained that Terry Porter belongs at the top of the UM Hall of Infamy and Shame. Rick Nuttheisel just jumped into strong competition for that spot.

Got my supplies and all I need to do is board up some windows facing east. Have a question for spacers...I just installed new windows this year that are rated for 140 MPH. We will not see that in North Orlando...should I stil board up or should I be ok??

Are they impact? You should be fine if they are. Impact can still break, but won't shatter.

Despite being a DB, apparently Mr. Cromartie never learned the prevent defense.

Also I wonder what kind of review Cromartie gave his dyslexic doc on Yelp.
