Is this really happening again?

Clouds incoming.

Dude

As long as this thing doesnt hurt football, we good. I can live without basketball in every way forever. They could cancel basketball and I wouldnt give 2 sh*ts.

VfB_Cane

We don't know the scenario yet.

If Adidas reps payed recruits to sign with adidas sponsored schools (including the U), and nobody at the U knew about it, all is good. Except for the palyer(s) in question, of course.

If adidas checked with school officials "who do you want?" and then used money to get the player to sign there, we're in big, big trouble.

Dude

It looks like Louisville is f*cked.

BUSINESS INSIDER: Adidas rep & others conspired to offer $150,000 to HS player to play for U Miami

I pray this is not true. This would not be good. The Canes have a basketball team capable of going far, and this scandal could set the program back. Its hard to believe that Coach L or his assistants would be involved, but I will wait and see what happens.

Dude

Posted by: WWIN | September 26, 2017 at 12:27 PM

Of course, but thats a different discussion. My point is that after a while, the meanings of symbols and customs change, and we get to decide what those meanings are. As far as the country not loving you back goes, this isnt anything new. I would contend that the country (our government) doesnt love any of us, unless of course someone on this blog has a sweet superpac and donates millions to elections.

Jay Bilas said in at least one of these cases, the SCHOOL was the victim. God please let that be University 7. AKA, Miami.

Wrong. Felonious sex-assault university averaged 35.1 points a game and 466 total yards, 202 on the ground at 5.1 ypc and 264 in the air at 8.1 ypp attempt last season. I know you don't go to games so you and I both didn't attend this one in question but even from my seat at home we both watched Diaz and crew held them to 20 points, (two whole touchdowns and a 2 point conversion below average) 167 yards on the ground for a 3.9 ypc and 240 in the air on 33 attempts for a 7.4 per attempt average that night in prime time.

That's a good day calling the signals anyway you slice it. UM lost that game because that's all the gold-hen girl loser for life against the primary rival did during his shitty joke of a career while the GD's and crew slurped it down no questions allowed to be asked.

lead story on yahoo......FBI probe uncovers massive NCAA corruption scandal

Go Canes!

Heard the first 10 minutes of the press conference.

It may be possible the schools didn't even know what was going on. There were rouge financial people working directly with the top guy at Adidas in dealing with the players families.

CaneRock

OGV, I hear ya', but we should've at least stopped 1 of the TDs Cook & Whitfield scored. Noooobody covered Whitfield on His TD, although it could be argued Corn was being held. Cook's TD looked like a blown coverage, still no excuse for nobody accounting for their best player.

Go Canes!

Refuse to believe Coach L is in any way involved.

Will be 0% shocked if a kid or two came here because he got paid by one of these scumbags.

College basketball is officially DOA after this fiasco. This isn't the NCAA. The Feds use site taps and have subpoena power. People are going to jail when this thing is done.

Everyone is going to rat out everyone.

Posted by: Ohio_Cane | September 26, 2017 at 01:31 PM

Yes. Both schools allegedly offered top HS talent " 100,000 dollars and 150,000 dollars!! " OUCH. No wonder Miami QUICKLY became a NCAA Tournament squad. Especially when Miami NEVER was an NCAA Tournament type of squad PRIOR to the advent of Jimmy arriving in Thee Gables. hUh.

Nevertheless, MY Arizona Wildcats have CHITTED themselves. When assistant coach E. ' Book ' Richardson was arrested by the notorious right-wing leaning FBI.

My, my, it's a SAD day in Arizona Wildcat mens basketball! A sad day to say the least. duh.

TheeMackJones

Posted by: Go Canes! | September 26, 2017 at 01:50 PM

Of course, it isn't the ethical NCAA. That body of major collegiate sports is too CORRUPT to investigate on of their OWN. dUh. Why do U think it takes an OUTSIDER law enforcement agency to investigate the schools affiliated with the NCAA! dUh.

TheeMackJones

Both Louisville and Miami are ' Adidas ' schools. And Adidas is named in one of the three complaints by the FBI.

AGREE 1 MILLION%

TonyCane

Trying to wrap my mind around this. Obviously this was the "ten secrets" that were mentioned last night. Depending on the number of schools involved, how badly does this damage college basketball? And if the NBA decides to now allow HS players back in..doesnit basically become an itch sport?

Would the NCAA be willing to give out 10-20 death penalties?

TheeMackJones

" While only four schools are currently involved, the complaints will provide a treasure map for NCAA investigators as it tells stories of endless payouts and kickbacks in the recruitment of numerous top prospects over the past three years. "

Again, Miami hass QUICKLY risen to NCAA Tournament the past ' three seasons. ' dUh. When prior to the arrival of Jimmy L, Miami was NEVER a perennial type of NCAA Tournament program.

Now, now. I'm NOT insinuating that Jimmy L has anything to do with the latest NCAA scandal. It's just puzzling that a men's program, with NO previous CONSISTENT NCAA Tournament experience, quickly becomes a legitimate NCAA Tournament type of program. hUh.

TheeMackJones

The Arizona Wildcat men's hoops program DIDN'T need to CHIT on it's self. Especially when Arizona has been an NCAA Tournament program SINCE the ' 1984-85 ' season!

CoCane

Wrong...

The hoops team went to the "Big Dance" in '98, '99, '00 and '02.

That's 4 out of 5 years.

TheeMackJones

" While some other major schools and national championship coaches are not specifically named yet ( EMPHASIS ADDED ), nearly any college basketball fan can put the dots together on some of the recruiting stories to figure out who is who. The names that are expected to come out will be prominent. " Yahoosports. com

This nefarious situation is just the proverbial TIP of the ICE BERG! I just wonder which other major programs are laying low under the ice berg. Ouch.

LOL

TheeMackJones

Fraud U say? What fraud? Look at Carolina Blue. Academic fraud for 25 years and still no real punishment. If the NCAA won't punish academic fraud are we gullible enough to believe they will do anything on this? The NCAA is a toothless, worthless organization employing right-wing TRUMP hypocrites.

What criminal statutes exist barring a biz from paying of a kid?

In the mean time. I believe I'll become a Michigan BANDWAGON football partisan. After Harbaugh voiced his opinion about the POTUS!

That's what I'm wondering? And even if it is a crime, I would think the FBI had bigger fish to fry than this.

CoCane

I think the layoff probably made a moderate difference. Not enough of difference to make it an excuse for garbage DB play. The OL opened holes and protected Rosier. The front 7 stuffed the run. WR, RB, TE and QB all balled. Why were the play of DB the only ones affected by the layoff?

Bullsh*t

The DB need to tighten up. Period...

Correct me if I'm WRONG. But wasn't the score 16-10 at halftime. With the visiting team up. hUh. And the game was close LATE into the third-quarter. Then Miami went on a scoring explosion. duh.

TheeMackJones

Posted by: CaneRock | September 26, 2017 at 02:57 PM

The POTUS is too blame! He probably ordered the Pax Americana GESTAPO, to get nasty and mean on those men's hoop programs. Seeing that the majority of team rosters are filled with those Blacks and what not. huh.

TheeMackJones

Banda needs to coach MORE. Instead of being a team CHEERLEADER! And Rumph needs to do more coaching and whatnot. hUh.

Maybe this is why no one was arrested from Miami yet.

TheeMackJones

My main man, Rosier, is No. 15 is the nation regarding passing efficiency! Ouch. And that' s with only two games under his belt this season. Wow.

The kid from Toledo is No. 14 in the nation.

Oh, and one more thing. Duke's starting QB has ' NO. 81 passing efficiency ' rating.

Now if Miami's defense gets off to a good start. Then Miami will roll and roll and roll this Friday! No ifs, buts or huh.

TheeMackJones

Although Alabama and Clemson's quartebacks are no where to be seen in the Top 30 passing efficiency stat. Those two defenses make up for that anomaly. hUh.

Now if Miami's defense begins to play like a Top 20 defense. Then Miami will be SCARY good! No ifs, buts or what ever.

thirstybuzzardcane

Agree TheeMackJones! Like to see the corners play more press and the DL go to town. Its the recipe for disaster!

thirstybuzzardcane

Richt needs to call plays like he did in the second half of the game last week. He really attacked all parts of the field.
