It was the worst of times. It was the best of times.
That was the tale of the Miami Hurricanes football game against Toledo on Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium before the good guys won convincingly 52-30.
In the first half the Hurricanes looked, well, like some smoldering dog crap.
Then, in the second half they looked like, well, the steaming cream of the crop. As fans, most were so angry in the first half that they would have fired the coaching staff and team. Then suddenly, a different team arrived.
At that time we saw a completely different team wake up, smell the coffee, and dominate the second half. So the question remains: "Who are these Miami Hurricanes?" We are convinced that the answer is sure to follow...
It's POSSIBLE, that we're only named because a recruit was offered money to come to Miami (an Adidas school) by an Adidas exec.
This scenario clears Miami and it's coaches, and would piggyback on Bilas' point that some schools were a victim.
God please let this be what happened ^^^

FYI - the FBI also conducted an investigation in football with more charges against Adidas...and we are an Adidas school
Posted by: F.U. Addidas | September 26, 2017 at 05:51 PM
One outcome of all of this will be that Adidas will not be allowed to sponsor these schools. We have had a falling out with Nike and Under Armor, so who is left?

Anybody still wish Kaaya came back???
Posted by: WWIN | September 26, 2017 at 06:15 PM
I just read a report that the UM coach's name came up in a conversation but wasn't a party to the recorded call. I guess it's just wishful thinking at this point as once they hang a 20-30 year sentence over the Adidas dude he'll roll over like a stuck pig.
Dark days ahead for Coach L and the BB team. Hopefully this doesn't bleed over to the FB team. This is where having a Mark Richt over a Butch Davis pays a huge dividend IMO. Let's pray my hunch is correct...

Rosier has been solid against two awful defenses. Don't think Kaaya's numbers would have been much different. We haven't been close to challenged yet.
We'll see.

That Kaayas passing numbers wouldn't have been much different is kinda the point. Because his rush numbers would've been.

Checked in to make sure all the Canespace family were doing good and accounted for. Sadly I see lots of politics being discussed as much or more than years ago. That was the reason I took a break from my favorite Canes site of all-time.
When I go to Canes games I don't care if jets fly over the stadium, if paratroopers fly into the stadium,if players stand kneel or loosen up I don care if the guy next to me stands, sits, puts his hand over his heart, or picks his ass, I don't care if soldiers, Boy Scouts,or clowns carry flags around. All I care about is if the Canes coaching staff gives us the very best chance to win the game, and that every player plays to the best of his ability and never quits.Going to games is a big investment in time and money nowadays root the Canes home and f all the media circus crap. I love you guys, Peace

Insomnia brigade research from the New York Times
The complaints announced Tuesday left tantalizing clues that what was alleged may only be the tip of the iceberg. One of the agent's involved urged the payment be increased because one of Adidas rivals was coming in with a higher number.
Also the investigation started in 2015.

Yes Rosier made a couple of great plays with his legs and had a fine game overall. I have been very pleased with what I've seen so far from him.
But he also threw what could have been a catastrophic pick late in the game, which is something he's apparantly been dogged by his whole time here.
He's been solid and played very well. But that hasnt made me forget what could have been a fourth year starter who ended his career here putting up very big numbers without ever turning over the ball.
In my opinion that's the formula that will win us the most games offensively.
I hope Malik can avoid those kind of throws as we progress into the meat of our schedule.

It's only been two games, but my thoughts on this Kaaya/Rosier thing are the same. I saw some missed throws I thought Kaaya would of easily made, but I also saw Rosier make plays Kaaya could of never made.
And honestly we shouldn't even be talking about this...Rosier is the man, case closed.
Posted by: UMike | September 27, 2017 at 09:33 AM
You wanna go back to what we were talking about yesterday? We can... I'm always up for it! Lol
Posted by: WWIN | September 27, 2017 at 09:44 AM
Where was this perfect Kaaya at that I missed seeing???
He OVERTHREW and UNDERTHREW WR's all the time... threw into double and triple coverage but DB's just dropped the ball and didn't come up with the picks. That's how stats can be deceiving... and this was his last game here with a month to prepare!
Posted by: WWIN | September 27, 2017 at 09:49 AM
I just love the fact that MR can get out of the pocket and run for a first down and in one case last week, a TD. That just gives D-cord something else to game plan for.
Posted by: raizecane | September 27, 2017 at 09:56 AM
I just love how we DOGGED running QB's since the inception of this blog but now that we see the Glory of a running QB we are all so in love. The Irony of it All!!

AD at Louisville is out. Pitino likely to follow at 1:00.
There will be a lot more of that coming as everyone scrambles to stay out of jail.

Great breakdown on State of the U of the timeline of UM's alleged involvement in this mess. I do not see any direct link or phone conversation that was tapped with a UM rep on the call. Plausible deniability is in play. Whoever coach 3 is they at least had the good sense not to talk over the phone.
I'm all for fixing this mess but the AD and the school need to do it "in house" this time. There is no advantage to "falling on the sword" with the NCAA. They will BBQ UM if UM admits to any of this.

Nah, Im correct...
These bloggers used to throw Daggers at Running QB's there were even guys who Truly didn't want TeddyB... He's not a pocket passer, Miami runs a Pro Style Offense we don't want a QB going outside of what we know and running the ball. This was the Narrative for over 4yrs in this place so exaggerated it is Not.. They've been this way since the days of Omar so yea it's true, and the fact that Malik is even remotely getting a virtual handshake from any to few in this crew is shocking..

" There’s also a perception that the NCAA committee on infractions isn’t sufficiently motivated to severely punish the few instances of blatant cheating that the enforcement division uncovers. The NCAA, after all, is being paid by the schools it’s investigating. It’s not good business to obliterate college sports’ most prominent coaches or biggest brands ( EMPHASIS ADDED ). " Yahoosports.com

Again, the NCAA is a ' good ol' boy ' system and PROTECTS it's own. hUh
Oh, and one more thing. NASSIR LITTLE is the Orange and Green elephant in the Miami recruiting machination. The kid played for an Adidas team- the same team who's director is in jail. In other words, there's a decent possibility that the kid is involved in the on going investigation, and the kid is a MAJOR TARGET of Jimmy L's program.
I'm just wondering if he's one of the numerous prep stars who was offered either $ 100,000 dollars or $ 150,000 dollars. OUCH.

UM has never been one of "the good old boys". Miami is a villain and the NCAA would love nothing more than to be able to use their alleged involvement in this mess to sweep this under the rug IMO. The smart play here is to dig in like all the other schools do lately. Hell UNC just won a National Title while under the umbrella of what appears to be the greatest academic scandal ever alleged.
UM needs to defend the program and clean it up "in house". There is no advantage to going to the NCAA and falling on the sword.
