Clemson got complacent. Clemson lot their edge. Clemson got lazy.
Then #2 Clemson went down to Syracuse Friday night in shocking fashion.
Trust me, that will not happen to your Miami Hurricanes when they face ACC rival Georgia Tech Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
We will be on hand to watch Miami spray some of their nasty defensive poison on the Yellow Jackets and kill them off quickly and easily in a 34-13 win.
It says right here in my official and authorized Canespace manual for 2017 that the Canes will win the ACC. The tide is clearly turning (FSU is on the outgoing tide) and the times, they are a changing (Clemson is losing badly).
Now it is up to the University of Miami football team to do their just and sworn duty and return the Cane Nation back to National prominence.

Cause Richards is hurt and apparantly Cager refuses to adjust to any ball thrown at him, he simply stares at it as it flies b.

Did u watch the game? U saw Richt shying away from calling the pass? U saw him relying on his rb? U saw Richt using tempo?

aggressive efficient attack of less talented offenses all over the nation.
Posted by: TruCane81 | October 15, 2017 at 09:18 AM
These less talented offense all seem to put up big numbers until they play a good defense.
Look at all the scores across the country. Don't see anyone out there consistently lighting up Top 20 defenses.
Especially ones that had two true freshmen WRs, a true freshman OL, a QB making his sixth start and a third string RB in the backfield at times.

Noone says force feed the middle at all costs.
We just need more crosses, digs, and drags. We also need to send multiple recievers across the middle a la levels.
Everything in our offense is to the sideline, both short and deep. Teams know this and it leads to the droughts.
We do have execution problems because our playcalling does not warm up the players early.
Good oc's use strings of "easy"but creative plays that give a team confidence and warms them
to more advanced playmaking.
Richt has done this ONE GAME since he got here. That was last year against Pitt. He refuses to take the lessons from that game and seriously implement them, while adding a few things as well.
Poor execution at multiple positions is always a sign of poor coaching.
When guys look all world one play and al toilet bowl the next, talent is not the problem.

oh yes, I did watch the game in full and a couple of times after that. Playcalling is situational. You are holding a grudge or dislike the Richt man for other reasons. The playcalling would have be very different if Malik is accurate with his throws. I am glag our QB is ice, but he is streaky. It has, very little to do with play calling. lLet your Richt hatred go.

Posted by: Ron Mayflower | October 15, 2017 at 08:45 AM
This is a very true statement. Rosier throws that bubble screen well, but struggled with other simple throws. Sometimes, Rosier sees the coverage and goes to the wrong receiver.
Sometimes going to the wrong receiver works out. That 4th down throw to Langham was supposed to go to the receivers on the other side who had single coverage to the other side, but thankfully he went to Langham who had double coverage, but has shown he can make plays. Even GT knew Langham was the threat, and started rolling their safety over. And that 4th down catch by Langham was a little luck, but mostly skill because he tip it to himself and kept his concentration as he was falling to the ground.

If u can tell me Why we don't see our NFL bound TE till the 4th,and why we call 50/50s to our not tallest receivers, I will reconsider my position
Posted by: 1mg of Epi | October 15, 2017 at 09:14 AM
Exactly!!! Really don't know why you have your TRUE freshman who are the smallest on the team running corners/fades in the end zone. Their routes weren't very good on some.

Is Ron Mayflower your real name? Cause if it is its kinda awesome.
Posted by: 1mg of Epi | October 15, 2017 at 09:45 AM
Thats my issue Ron.
Malik is streaky with accuracy.
Those long throws to the sideline are difficult. They add to his cold streaks. Add in drops and the o looks putrid sometime.
This is why I am so adamant about easy plays.
Shovel pass, te screen, hb screen, drag routes to wrs underneath when the linebackers and safeties follow Herndon downfield.
You know, the stuff that works and we score EASY.
When Richt is on, we score EASY,problems be damned. We just know he is leaving so much more on the field, and that has kind of been his career's haunting narrative.
Posted by: TruCane81 | October 15, 2017 at 09:47 AM
The coaches are developing players, and have shown that this team now has quality depth. Delaney goes down, Michael Jackson stepped in and played just as well.
Walton goes down and Homer rushes for 170, and scores two TDs. Richards doesn't play, and Langham gets 100 receiving yards on 5 catches.
Pinckney, who I think has been the best Canes LB so far, goes down with an injury, and the second string LBs step in and play very well. Quarterman also missed some snaps, but for the first time this season, I thought the backup LBs played very well.
Everyone knows the DL is deep and very good, so I will not touch on it here. I was even pleased to see Jon Ford come in and play very well.
The offensive line played very well without Donaldson. The run blocking was very good. The pass protection needs more work, but that's ok.
The only position that concerns me depth wise is the safety. With the exception of Jaquan Johnson, the safety play has not been good. GT exploited that second safety position on passing plays and running plays. Someone needs to step up

TrueCane81 932am
We did start fast vs Duke. They switch coverages and we start having issues. The plays were there in all of these games. The first series vs FSU, an OC cannot make it simpler than a direct throw to the TE for the 3rd down conversion. That did not get executed.
So its not all on the coaches. Sure there is always room for improvement but the play calling also depends on what defenses are doing. Malik has to start being accurate on most if his throws or at least give the receiver a chance to catch.
For now, I am enjoying the win.

Is the Rosier/Langham QB/WR combo the most clutch in canes history? I think so... more clutch than Kaaya ever would have been even if he had Andre or Irvin or Reggie (I had to).
Posted by: BEERicane | October 15, 2017 at 10:08 AM
I think the Canes will move past Clemson and will be ranked #7 in the polls. A win next week at home over Syracuse and the Canes will move up again

Make that 10 straight wins, a streak in which we have outscored every single opponent in the second half.
Posted by: Go Canes! | October 15, 2017 at 10:15 AM
Posted by: BigWindyCane1 | October 15, 2017 at 10:12 AM
Imo there is less than zero percent chance of that happening. I wonder if Clemson even exits the top 5 while we will be 8-9.
But it would be nice!
Posted by: Go Canes! | October 15, 2017 at 10:17 AM
Good points Ron. Everyone has to be better no doubt.
But the only reas9n we can enjoy this win is because Langham snatched victory from the jaws of defeat for the second straight week.
We got something brewing. Dont want to see a huge opportunity squandered.
Posted by: TruCane81 | October 15, 2017 at 10:26 AM
They can have the rankings.
We got past fsu undefeated and our future is in our own hands.
This is a tremendous opportunity.

Homer amy not be "better" than Walton yet but he damn sure is more explosive through the hole.

Lucky win, despite some shitty play calls. Middle of the Dee-Line is tough, the LB's are playing like they're freshmen and Knowles, I'm wondering whose team is he playing for, it sure ain't us. No crossing routes, no slants, either bubble screens, fades or bombs.
Richt needs to get his act together, as a play caller. Like Manny's adjustments at halftime but those adjustments should be made earlier. Rosier is average at best but he makes the plays, when. he has too or Langham aides in the miracle. Way more talent than GT for this game to be close but these are the games we would lose with Golden.

From Twitter: Miami's 5-0 is against
1. A top 10 offense
2. A top 3 rushing offense
3. 2 top 25 defenses (fsu 28th)
4. 3 top 25 rush defenses

I dont know if it is regional, but Espn has purposely left out the Cane win over GT yesterday. I watched the college football report for an hour this morning and nothing was shown in our game yesterday...very sad that they are so bias.

We won because of the last drive where we go down the field on bubble screens...Richt call a brilliant series.
Posted by: mi@mic@ne | October 15, 2017 at 11:44 AM
Richt philosophy is to audible into the best play that attacks the defense weakness. Its Howards philosophy.
Posted by: mi@mic@ne | October 15, 2017 at 11:47 AM
I like those screens.
Running similar concepts between the hash marks all game will go a long way to a more consistent, better executing offense.
Posted by: TruCane81 | October 15, 2017 at 11:50 AM
GT aided us by playing a prevent defense and allowing us to finally use Herndon. No brainer throws with the Deno defense GT was running the last minute, with DB's 10 yds off the WR.
Posted by: Herbieibis | October 15, 2017 at 12:08 PM
Epi-you are right on the tight end. it is like he is newly discovered in the 2nd half. The other issue I have with that is if if the tight end is under utilized it won't attract top notch tight ends in recruiting- they want to catch not just block.
Posted by: CGNC | October 15, 2017 at 12:08 PM
Posted by: CGNC | October 15, 2017 at 12:08 PM
Exactly.
When we get the ball to Herndon, the run game IMMEDIATELY starts goug8ng the defense. When we run well, we almost always win sans turnovers.
If we let the defense know he will shred them for first downs early, the run will be effective all game long.
This phenomenon has proven true even against tough defenses.
Instead of it being our core offensive philosophy, we wait until we are nearly dead in the water.
The sad thing is, this simple change in philosophy will make all the things Richt wants to do ABSOLUTELY DEADLY.

CGNC,
Maybe. We have 2 of the top 10 TEs in the country committed right now. I think our track record of producing TEs will keep us strong there. That said, I totally agree Herndon is vastly under used.

I think CMR has overused the fade to the corner.
I think Malik struggles with accuracy at times which may affect certain calls CMR makes.
I KNOW after 10 straight wins where weโve led wire to wire, been in close games and even trailed, heโs had all the answers.
What was the famous Randy Shannon saying about Canes football again??
