Miami FL vs Florida State
Saturday, October 7, 3:30 PM on ESPN
Doak Campbell Stadium, Tallahassee, Florida
No, FSU is not the attractive Top 5 team we expected to thrash, but they are still the team we expect to trash. In 12% fashion this blog presents HOPE; hope for a much deserved win and not a Golden style "We Came, We Saw" visit but a "Swag Is Back", Turnover Chain type party in Tallahassee.
Our boys are READY. The scene is set.
And the storm will not and cannot stop these Hurricanes. Here is an update:
"University administrators will meet Thursday before lunch to discuss moving the game to Noon, according to sources, both of whom believe the move will happen in the name of safety. The sooner the game is played, the sooner fans can get safely home, or back to their hotels. The game was originally set for September 16th, but was moved as Hurricane Irma made landfall in Florida."
"If the move does happen, Florida State could potentially trade starting times and TV setups with Clemson, who hosts Wake Forest at Noon on ESPN 2. Floida State has defeated Miami in each of the last seven meetings, though Miami leads the all-time series 31-30. The Hurricanes are favored by a field goal."
12% is READY
DEFENSE is READY
OFFENSE is READY
IT'S GREAT TO BE A MIAMI HURRICANE

The thing is people are going to get guns on the black market. No matter what laws you have these people are still going to get weapons. Its a lose lose situation IMO!
Posted by: thirstybuzzardcane | October 05, 2017 at 06:42 PM
I'm fine if they ban these assault rifles, but the wrong people are still going to get them somehow. Good points Sarasota!!!

You see many Americans with tanks, missiles and artillery off the black market? How about just fully auto M4s or MRAPs?

Speaking of the SEC, have Bama, Florida, & LSU ever played on a Thursay night?
Posted by: CaneRock | October 05, 2017 at 07:15 PM
FiveThirtyEight, gives Miami a 21 percent chance to win the ACC (Clemson, the only team with a better projected chance, is at 50 percent). The Hurricanes, per FiveThirtyEight, have an 11 percent chance to be one of four playoff teams (Clemson: 55 percent), and a 2 percent chance of winning the national title (Clemson: 15 percent).

CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm projected Miami to be the 11th-ranked team if the College Football Playoff projections came out this week.

Then let people get them on the black market, not their local Walmart.

I see that's Shrek came out of his swamp. How is Donkey? And Fiona?
As for LSU...didn't they have a budget crisis a year ago? How can thy afford to pay out Les SMiles and Ed Oregon, then put together a $5M per year deal for Mark Richt?
Silly Shrek, the most enjoyable thing is that no one here in this site, or in the organization has forgotten the ways LSU represented itself once upon a time. Your team will fade away and classify itself as obsolete. Now, go back to your tree home.

Good point, I think this is why they couldn't fire Miles, and hire Jimbo like they wanted to do. Probably a reason why they couldn't hire a HC like Herman after they fired Miles.

8:00pm storm update. Looks like we're in the clear for the game and a 3:30pm kickoff, but I'm afraid that Louisiana, Mississippi, and parts of the Panhandle are in for a rough weekend.
The best case scenario would be for the storm to move quickly through the area to minimize the flooding. Prayers to those in Nate's path.

WE...you, me, and everyone else are on the hook for the medical expenses for up to 78,000 shooting victims a year to the tune of about $400,000 per victim. That's an average as some of these victims are costing us a lot more.
We need a vehicle that transfers the expense of gun ownership away from the taxpayer and back to the consumers of these products just like we do with automobiles. This isn't rocket science and it in no way infringes on a person's 2nd Amendment rights.
Posted by: Sarasota 'cane | October 05, 2017 at 03:54 PM
All this propaganda you present misses the point entirely. Most gun victims are shot not by law abiding citizens who are legal gun owners who buy for self defense and register their guns but by criminals who use unregistered illegal guns to do the job.
Saying that a poor illegal unregistered gun owning criminal who robs people and shoots them is going to pay the burden for the taxpayers is utter and complete nonsense.
And once you add any additional cost to owning a gun it IS an infringement on their rights. Rights are not something that costs you money to exercise. That's why they are "rights". If you had to pay money to vote would that be fair? Would that be a right?
Oh yeah, and BTW, it is hate week!
Posted by: 58 Straight | October 05, 2017 at 08:31 PM
B.S. Soup. Besides I'm just getting the conversation started. Your "only criminals have guns" argument doesn't fly anymore. Criminals steal cars as well as guns but we still require insurance for automobiles. And every illegal gun on the market was at some point legal.
We need to register guns like cars every year and force the owners of said guns to account for them annually just like the automobile. When you miss a couple of insurance payments the State notifies you within days to find out what's up.
I don't expect a criminal to register a gun, but I expect the original owner to account for it. And this is simply a way to reduce the # of guns in circulation as many will decide to have fewer weapons if there is a residual registration and insurance payment due every year.
If you have a better idea then let's hear it, but if you think banning bump stocks or making magazines smaller will make a difference then you're just sniffing glue. I'm sick of the "gun grabber" crowd driving this discussion. They and the NRA have gotten us to where we are today. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. Again, tell me your plan Swami!!

Huge TD for NC State! This is a good game to scout before Saturday since they already beat the noles.
Posted by: Sarasota 'cane | October 05, 2017 at 08:58 PM
This NC State game gives me more encouragement that the Canes can beat FSU and win the ACC. The Canes would beat both of these teams
Posted by: BigWindyCane1 | October 05, 2017 at 09:25 PM
NC State has a nice team. They'll give any team in the country a tough night.
Lamar Jackson is out there trying to do it by himself.

Maybe, but I think that NC State loses this game.

NC State loss their opener to a mediocre South Carolina team, and has had any real impressive wins before this game.

N.C. State looks really good against Louisville. Not sure this means anything though. The team that plays loose and without fear or hesitation on Saturday will win.

BULLSHIT!
THERE WERE SIGNS! THERE ARE ALWAYS SIGNS!
But we too week and pc and pussified to do anything about these fruit loops.
Wait til the crazies find out FULL AUTO russian and chinese weapons are dirt cheap on the street like $200-400.
Yall worried bout the sl8de fire stock?
What about the bombs made of fertilizer nails and fish8ng weights.

People with the money and connects DO have them.
The only full auto weapons I have seen were foreign. It would scare you to know how easy and cheap they are to get.
If you get it in your m8nd to have one, even if you dont know anyone off top, you can have one in less than a week.
One time the cops rolled up on us when my friend was showing me the ak74u he just bought black market.
That was a close one.

Last thing for me on this whole "black market" thing.
If that's the way some lunatic gets a hold of an illegal weapon then so be it.
I'd rather have law enforcement keying on that type of scenario, making some crazy more easily detectable. Instead just about anyone is currently able to go to Walmart up the street and in a matter of days load up with a small army's worth of sh it that kills.
I'm all for the second amendment. But we have got to sensibly control what has turned into complete lunacy
Posted by: Go Canes! | October 06, 2017 at 05:38 AM
As if you cant make it harder both ways Go.
Tru, thats a load of b.s. There are not loads of missiles around on the streets. Dont forget where I am, Ive seen all kinds of sh*t up here in Idaho, where we have some groups with very bad intentions. If you can get you hands on some manpads, you would be rich as hell up here. Yes there are fully auto weapons, heck even legally, but they are harder to get than going down to Walmart.

No excuse to lose this game, period! Greenhorn qb that might weigh a buck 170 soaking wet at 6'4. One full start under his belt. Stop the run and the game should be ours.
I don't see us running for a whole lot of yds, so Rosy will have to be the man. Just be consistent. No stupid penalties and avoid a bunch of T.O.'s. Canes 23-13.

It's been 34 years since a ranked Miami team played an unranked Florida State team. The last time was 1983, the year the Hurricanes won their first national title.

My conservative prediction on tomorrow:
Q1
FG: FSU
FSU 3 Miami 0
TD: FSU (QB sneak)
FSU 10, Miami 0
Q2:
TD: FSU (40 yard pass)
FSU 17, Miami 0
TD: Miami (20 yard pass to Richards)
FSU 17, Miami 7
Q3:
FG: Miami
FSU 17, Miami 10
FG: FSU
FSU 20, Miami 10
Q4:
TD MIami (33 yard run by Walton)
FSU 20, Miami 17
TD MIami (1 yard run by Walton)
FSU 20, Miami 24
FG Miami
FSU 20, Miami 27
Essentially FSU jumps out to an early lead due to emotions and hype on the field goal. Their defense forces early Miami turnovers which are capitalized on. MIami's superior offense allows them to claw back into the game, and the game winning TD comes off of an FSU turnover. The defense holds FSU scoreless in the fourth quarter.

Jus sayin...

Sorry to break it to u true, but Trump’s Only legislative succes in his term is to sign in to law a bill passed by republicans to allow the mentally ill to purchase automatic weapons. And he turns around and calls the shooter “a sick, sick man.”
Enough with the arguments about only criminals do these and that. The fact is, the amount of weapons in circulation is proportional to how easy they can be attained. There will always be criminals who will do this. But we don’t have to make it easy for them to commit these crimes. Take out the automatic weapons. Slap on issuance, which will help with the cost of these crimes. And strengthen regulations. If u don’t think we live in a country that like the Wild West was, then u r in serious denial.

SCREW that Gerald Palm. The creep is an ABSOLUTE Big 10 apologist and what not. hUh.
The bottom line: Miami didn't play a scheduled game. So that will drop them in the initial possible contenders scenario. In other words, realistically speaking Miami should be either a No. 7 or No. 8 for now. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm a DECADES long Miami loyalist and all that. So what.

" My conservative prediction on tomorrow: "
The latter opinion is just another way of saying... my FEARFUL SCARED prediction and whatnot!! SMH
And this dude calls himself a Cane football fan. dUh.
Yes, mighty FSU may jump out to a slim early lead. But I ABSOLUTELY guarantee Miami will not be behind at halftime!
Heck, I guess Antonio hasn't watched any game film on FSU this season. Because FSU is lame this season! hUh. And Miami should HANDILY defeat Good Ol' Boy Jimbo's squad tomorrow. No ifs, buts or hUh!
CAVEAT LECTOR: The only way this game is TIGHT going into the fourth quarter, is IF Richt ' calls a CONSERVATIVE ' game! dUh. But I doubt that happens. Because if Miami wants to be a LEGITIMATE play-off contender. Then Richt has to leash the PERFECT STORM on Saturday!!!! And the players have to EXECUTE those plays. dUh.
Posted by: TheeMackJones | October 06, 2017 at 03:11 PM
A few reasons why I believe the line is still... -3,
One. The gambling public is still SCEPTICAL on Miami.
Two. It's a rivalry game. dUh. Even if mighty FSU is lame this season.
Three. FSU has played the TOUGHER schedule so far this season. See NCST's impressive win over Louisville last night.
Four. Home cooking and all that.
Five. Good Ol' Jimbo still makes a significant difference.
And finally, the gambling degenerates HATE anything to do with Miami. And love to see Miami go down the toilet. Even against a lame FSU team. hUh.
Posted by: TheeMackJones | October 06, 2017 at 03:18 PM
The big question I have is how was FSU able to play "down for down" with Alabama, but now all of a sudden they duck and are completely inept? Of course losing their QB was huge, but the offense is still littered with playmakers. Rosier has not seen a defense like the Noles yest and they will have some traps set for him.
I expect UM to win this game, but there's something about playing a "wounded underdog that has me concerned. Just like with Wake, Jimbo just wants to linger into the 4th quarter and have it come down to a play or two.
It's imperative that Coach Richt call an aggressive game and let UM's superior defense bail him out if mistakes are made. If he plays scared then he'll be playing right into Jimbo's hands.
UM 31 FSU 17

A Hurricane DOUBLE-DIGIT lead going into the third-quarter will FORCE Good Ol' Boy to go vertical and all that. Then Diaz will unleash his Canes on TOO tall, skinny Blackman!
In other words, I will be absolutely STUNNED if the Hurricanes have a narrow halftime lead ( 2, 3 or 4 point lead. ), or if the game is tied at the intermission!! huh. But then again, darling ANTONIA would love to see that scenario happen. It would then make his SCARED prediction come to fruition!

Im not talking bout missles on the street. Im just saying people outside of government "control" do get military equipment.
But thats the issue making it "harder to get" does not help us much.
Look what this guy did.
He was completely determined.
You can get many means of mass destruction with that mindset.
I understand the logic on both sides.
Neither side will address the real problem and the only th8ng accomplished is that I a peace l9ving citizen will have trouble getting the tools I need to defend myself even from unlikely situations.
Ban slide fire, limit clip size , ban ar, whatever.
We are still in the same boat.
