Through nine games, the Irish had the nation’s No. 7 scoring offense (41.3 points per game). UM held them scoreless until the final 15 seconds of the third quarter.

The Irish rushed for 515 yards two months ago against Boston College and ran for a school-record 10.1 yards per carry. UM held them to 109 yards on 36 attempts.

This season, Adams became the first player in at least two decades to rush for a touchdown of at least 70 yards in four consecutive games. The ’Canes limited him to 40, on 16 carries.

Brandon Wimbush is only the third quarterback in Notre Dame’s storied history to rush for 500 yards and pass for 1,000 in the same season. Saturday, coach Brian Kelly benched him — in the second quarter.

Old Skool

More sugar

This was no less than the most efficient rushing attack in the country, averaging 7.04 yards per carry and a whopping 324.8 yards per game. They had 3.3 yards per carry, and nothing much at all until garbage time. Only two teams had scored more rushing touchdowns than the Irish (34). They had none Saturday.

HillViewCane

I wonder if Adams had a concussion and Kelly hid it?

All that kid does is make plays just about every time he gets his hands on the ball.

Not sure if I love or am a little disappointed we broke out the wildcat last night. Could have been a nice new wrinkle for Clemson but I guess it does gives them something more to game plan for.

Go 'canes!!!

UMike

Wow! I sure didn't expect that. I think the best part of that game, for me, was the realization that we have finally become a good, top ranked football team again. As the game went on layer after layer of doubt from a decade of let downs peeled away. We may not win a title this year, or we may, either way we are finally a legit top team.

Dude on a Pale Horse

Lol, I had a similar dream.

BigWindyCane1

With games left against Virginia, Pittsburgh, Clemson and then the post season, Travis Homer (who has 753 yards rushing so far) has a very realistic chance to get 1,000 yards rushing this season.

BigWindyCane1

Once again, IMO the offensive line played its best game. It seems to improve every week. Gathier and Donaldson were great in the middle, picking up assignments and even getting to the second level. McDemott and St. Louis were solid in pass protection and the run game. Even Darling played well. No penalties on the OL. They were very prepared and physical

UM-hosted GameDay (1.5 nationally) was highest-rated GameDay of the year, coast-to-coast.

M-Y Miami Hurricanes will be among the ELITE, in the poll which matters the most come Tuesday night. hUh.

CFP- No. 3 Miami, Florida Hurricanes

Coaches- No. 2

AP- No. 3

Oh, and one more thing. A few national college football pundits are now opining that mighty ND was VASTLY OVERRATED- Enter Herbstreit at the front of the pack. dUh.

TruCane81

CMR deserves a round of applause.

This is HIS team.

He has found his rhythm.

This was there all along, depth be damned.

When you coach Miami players properly, they do one thing and one thing only: Win games.

Our players are finally being coached and the results are obvious. We are head and shoulders above every team not named Alabama and we can beat them any day of the week.

We could have looked like this for a long time with real coaching, but we have it finally.

This is what a dark horse title run looks like.

Our best football this season is AHEAD of us still. Thats the scary part.

You just watched a group of men turn from fighters into KILLERS, and they will let nothing stand in their way.

We will be national champions 2017. Bank it.

Prepare yourselves. You just got early admission to another historic cfb run.

Yes, Miami is PEAKING at the right time, and surely will be ONE of four college football playoff teams! hUh. And teams with a CHAMPIONSHIP goal always PEAK at the right moment!

Oh, and one more thing. I remember when their was a time this season, when Cane fan was critical of the play calling- myself included. Well, Coach Mark Richt was waiting for the opportune time to reach in his bag of magical PLAYS and what not.

Right on, baby! Now I'm waiting for a ' three of a kind in ' DUECES. ' hUh. A No. 2 in the poll which matters the most- CFP! Nevertheless, I'll settle for Miami being No. 3 in the third version of the college football playoff poll.

My feeble prediction come Tuesday night-

No. 1 Alabama

No. 2 Oklahoma

No. 3. Miami

No. 4 Clemson

Dude on a Pale Horse

Posted by: TruCane81 | November 12, 2017 at 01:55 PM

I just want to say that I saw something last night that supports what I've said in the past. When Miami is great, its more than Xs & Os, its pressure and pressure shows itself when a team realizes it needs to make a play. When our D is fast and physical, TEs drop easy first down catches when they are wide open. That pressure starts to build and eventually you have Nebraska CBs slipping on the field because in the back of their minds they know that they are covering Andre Johnson, and they cant afford to slip. Miami is doing that now. Other teams are looking shook, they are pressing, they are making mistakes for no reason.

Game MVPs:

Braxton Berrios: Early on let the world know that we know what you say about us and we dont care. Who showed his teammates how to politely rub it in their faces.

Coach Searles: We all just gonna shut the f*ck up now.

Coach Richt: We all just gonna shut the f*ck up now.

Coach Diaz: What can I say, you should win the Briles Award.

Dude on a Pale Horse

^^^ *Broyles Award* My bad.

HillViewCane

I am really interested to see how we play and are coached, specifically on offense, the next couple of weeks. We have played down to our competition and have coached down to our competition. I hope CMR continues to use the same aggression and creativity that we saw with VT and yesterday. If we see that we should be fine and will end up with a great season.

BigWindyCane1

TMJ, Miami is definitely peaking at the right time. It seems that with each game, more players are understanding their roles and how to make plays. The Canes team that played last night is better than the team that played GT and Syracuse. You could always see glimpses of greatness, but it hasn't really come together for a whole game until VT. I see this current phase of the season comparable to the end of last season when after a mid-season slump, everything came together and the Canes went on a 5-0 roll.

Make no mistakes, the Canes beat a very good, top ten football team last night. The Canes played the most dominant football game I have seen this season. Clemson is very concerned about this matchup.

That said, the Canes need to turn their focus to Virginia. UVA is a tough team. Can't take them (or any ACC opponents) lightly.
