Irish Cane

I noticed that as well. I wonder if CMR benched him for his tantrum. Cager and Langham were mainly playing his position for the entire 2nd half.

Any insight as to what happened to AR82? He didn't play anymore after the 1st half. Injured? Out of Sync? Overrated?

THE 2 PASSES THROWN HIS WAY U CAN TELL THEY WERE NOT ON THE SAME PAGE AND 82 SEEMED PISSED BY THROWING HIS HANDS AROUND????

Navaughn Donaldson, my Freshman LOF, and Jaquan Johnson, my defensive LOF, received major recognition.

BigWindyCane1

PER ACC Press Release:

OFFENSIVE LINE – Navaughn Donaldson, Miami, Fr., RG, 6-6, 350, Miami, Fla.
Donaldson made the sixth start of his career in Saturday night’s 41-8 win over No. 3 Notre Dame and helped lead the Hurricanes’ offense to a 374-261 advantage in total yardage. Miami quarterback Malik Rosier was not sacked by the Fighting Irish, while Donaldson and the Hurricanes piled up 237 rushing yards in the victory.

CO-LINEBACKER – Zach McCloud, Miami, So., LB, 6-2, 230, Lantana, Fla.
McCloud came through with a big performance for the Hurricanes on the defensive side of the ball, helping shut down Notre Dame All-American running back Josh Adams and limiting the Fighting Irish offense in a 41-8 win. McCloud posted five tackles, recorded one sack (three yards) and finished with 1.5 tackles for loss. He added one quarterback hurry in a dominant defensive performance for Miami, who held Notre Dame to just 261 total yards and 109 rushing yards.

DEFENSIVE BACK – Jaquan Johnson, Miami, Jr., S, 5-11, 190, Miami, Fla.
Johnson repeated as the ACC Defensive Back of the Week and earned Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week accolades after another standout performance as Miami topped Notre Dame, 41-8, at Hard Rock Stadium Saturday night. Johnson led all Hurricanes with eight tackles (four solo) and wore the program’s “turnover chain” yet again, this time on an interception of Notre Dame quarterback Brandon Wimbush early in the game. Johnson added one tackle for loss and broke up a pass. Johnson leads all Hurricanes with 66 tackles this season and has started every game. He ranks second on Miami’s team with three interceptions.

I think most will. McIntosh is gone, gone, gone though. Should be a 1st round pick.

BigWindyCane1

I hope all of our juniors come back, though.

BigWindyCane1

We’re going to miss Jaquan even more than our two stud DTs next year, and that’s saying a lot.

Posted by: Go Canes!! | November 13, 2017 at 12:07 PM

I am afraid another junior defensive player that might be leaving early to the NFL draft is CB Michael Jackson. That is four juniors from that defense that we could possibly lose to the NFL draft, along with seniors Chad Thomas and Dee Delaney.

No one can no longer say that the U doesn't develop players and get them ready to play in the NFL.

Zach played like we needed him to. The biggest surprise to me was how well Jackson held up in the run, allowing Thomas to chase down the back side of the run. On passing downs ND's entire OL was abused, heck even 3rd string freshmen got in on the party.

Back means realistically competing for a title every year. I think we are going undefeated into the ACC CG which is the 1st round of the playoffs for us. Thats back.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: The Canespace rocking chair burning party and bonfire will be held tonight at 8 PM. Please bring all wooden rocking chairs to the center of E2 in the Hard Rock Stadium parking lot. Gasoline, matches and Fireball liquor will be provided by the management at no additional charge.

Go Canes!!

They’re back when people start copying what I say on the space on Twitter.

Scary thought but this will probably be one of Miami’s least talented teams depth wise moving forward under Mark Richt. The future is very bright at The U.

mark from Atlanta

Great write up SOUP!
Spot on....here in Atlanta. ...the Dawgs fans and media are telling us...just wait...Mark Richt can't win the big game. ...blah blah blah. ..worry about your own team...and how happy you were to get rid of CMR.
CMR knew the capabilities and possibilities of this program. ..just listen to early interviews after the hire and last season. ...

For those of us who watched on TV, you could see the fear in Winbush's eyes. That kid was scared and confused, looked like he was about to cry a few times. No BS... They are lucky the chain didn't come out the 2 other times we dropped INT's

This certainly isnt the greatest Canes team ever, but this team has done something special, this is the team that brought us back. Official Category 1 Hurricane, sustained winds of whooping Irish ass.

Very nice write up. I live up north, was so hyped for the game, and the crowd did not disappoint. I told the wifey there wasn't an empty seat in the house and she was shocked. I told her big time bloggers make big time noise during big time games in the City of Miami. I have seen this my whole life as a former So Fla resident. Locals go crazy for a game with national implications and rep the local team like no other city. The Canes and Dolphins are different when there is a big time night game. Just ask the 1985 Bears...

86Cane

The stadium photos were taken way late in the second half and then at the end of the game, but trust me, the stadium was SOLD OUT and FULL!
