We heard it from North Carolina who, heard it from Georgia Tech who, heard it from FSU that "The U" been messing around.
Cat and mouse. Rope A Dope. Smoke and mirrors.
Bait and switch. Hook and ladder. Doom and deception.
Apparently these are just some of the many tricks that your Miami Hurricanes have up their very long and silky sleeves.
On a absolutely delicious South Florida November morning at Hard Rock Stadium, we arrived early to get our "game" on.
We arrived believing that Miami would face Virginia in another easy ACC game on their way to possibly another shot at a National Championship.
The sun was soft, the breeze was light and the fans were exuding some serious swag and some major confidence during the tailgate.
The Stadium looked perfectly nice, safe and calm in the early morning light.
Little did we know that under the palms and bushes and bleachers that Miami would wind up just messing around with heavy underdog Virginia until it seemed that it was almost too late.
How else do you explain the Hurricanes allowing the Cavaliers to go up by 14 points not once but twice during the game? Just setting something up of course!
That was precisely when we realized that UM head Coach Mark Richt has just been messing around with college football in general and Miami fans in specific.
It was at this very game that we figured out the Richt has this all figured out without a doubt. Only time will tell but I now think that he has this season right where he wants it. And he thinks that only he knows it.
Oh, I almost forgot, Miami beat Virginia convincingly by the score of 44-28.
And listen up Coach Richt. The Miami fans are on to your wild scheme.
We know that this game wasn't even close. Do you want to know why?
We heard it from a friend who, heard it from a friend who, heard it from another that you been messing around.
Boom

Pretty crazy that we can potentially lose to the #3 team and defending national champs in a dogfight in what will essentially be a road game and people will say a 2 loss Ohio State or Auburn deserves a final 4 spot over us.

Good thing I waited a day to post something.
It could have been much worse from the pain and anguish that was from being at the game all giddy with Victory in our eyes and then the fate of losing staring us back in the face.
Or it might have come out as: "Pleased To Meet U, Hope U Guess My Name?

LB De’Andre Wilder seemed to play very well yesterday , and so has safety Carter and some of the other backups. I have noticed that a lot of teams target McCloud, and McCloud and Redwine always seems to be involved in all of the big plays that other teams get on the Canes defense. As a matter of fact, teams tend to target them more often.
I think DIAZ needs to give some of these other players reps over McCloud. McCloud played better against ND, but it seems opponents usually target him with great success. McCloud has some good plays, but he also has the worst defensive breakdowns of any player. For example, McCloud did cause that fumble recovery on the punt return, but he is out of position a lot giving opponents big plays. One day the switch may come on and everything comes together. But so far, MCCloud frustrates me. IMO, McCloud is not yet in the same category as Pinkney and Quarterman.

If I'm Manny Diaz, I'm not leaving Miami for at least 4 more years. Same goes for the rest of the defensive staff. If they keep this up, in 4 years, he could have a masterpiece defense that he can ONLY build at Miami, it could be his life's work, something that he may never do again.
Posted by: Dude on a Pale Horse | November 19, 2017 at 10:13 PM
The most Athletic QB to play at the U. Not the the best QB. I'll take it right now it's helping us win games we've lost the last 10 years +.
This has nothing to do was Kaaya he was a way better passer but on the bright side we play at noon on Friday with the extra day for the ACCCG
Posted by: 🐜🌀 | November 19, 2017 at 10:17 PM
The sheer number of players the Canes are using on defense is amazing. The substitutions are crazy.
DC Diaz is very good.
DL Coach K is crazy good.
Richt be playing ya'll.
He got this.

From Russell Rose on Facebook:
"The most alarming stat in college football is the fact that the Miami Hurricanes defensive line hasn’t had a holding call for them since the FSU game, 476 plays ago. This is absolutely ridiculous. The ACC Football offensive lines aren’t that good."
HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE???

Only one person is Epi. I think almost all of us here know Malik is who is he is and BK was who he was.
Pointing out Malik is completing a lower percentage than he was has nothing to do who our qb was last year.
Posted by: Go Canes!! | November 19, 2017 at 09:07 PM
You're right. I actually recall u calling out brad at times last year while I was calling out Richt. My point is just that Neither of these QBs are even close to elite, so what exactly is this argument about lol.

Meanwhile the Turds are turding. UCLA is a better fit for Kelly imo:
The Sun has confirmed that six UAA members flew to New Hampshire on Sunday to meet with Chip Kelly. The UAA members are returning to Florida without Kelly tonight.

No team has yet to lose after the 2nd playoff ranking and still finish in the top 4. Late losses are penalized more than earlier ones, regardless of team. Really CFB needs to expand their playoffs. At least 8.

OK, to be fair, I have gotten lazy coming back from the beer stand at least 3 times this season. I have drifted off onto the ramps at the stadium, I have wandered into the bathroom, and once I even went in the wrong section of the stadium on purpose just to see the student section.

Ohio States name shouldn't even be discussed in the playoffs, let alone top 10. When you get BLOWN out by a nobody team (Iowa), you have no right to be considered!

Playoffs should have always been 16 teams.
ALWAYS!
Every conference champion gets an automatic bid and the other slots filled by committee.
Didnt win your conference? STFU and put your fate in the hands of the bureaucrats where it belongs.
Incorporate the major bowls into the rounds withe classic match ups and conference affiliations.
We played 15 games in high school to win state. The too many games argument is beyond ridiculous.
This is so easy.
Why wasnt it done 50 years ago?
Posted by: TruCane81 | November 20, 2017 at 01:38 AM
8 teams, all 5 conference champs, plus 3 at large. Give the highest ranked teams a home game, then start the bowls.
or 6 teams, all 5 conference champs plus 1 at large, top 2 teams get a bye.

But that still discriminates against the mid major.
CFB is the only sport on earth where you can go undefeated and have NO SHOT at the big prize.
That's bullshit.
If you want to seperate the power 5, make it fair to smaller schools and seperate them officially.

I’m ok with four teams. 99% of the time it works itself out. What I loathe is the predetermined biases towards certain teams, no matter what happens on the field.
Ohio State, Auburn, Notre Dame...just go the hell way. You have zero business in this conversation. You lost twice, at least once by blowout.
They’ll be back to sniff your jocks next year.

The Canes could be 30-0 and we would still get no respect. Hell, Rodney Dangerfield got more respect than we do.
Like you said, herpes that just won't go away.
They love the Big 10 so much, that if Ohio State had 3 loses, they would try to find a way to put them in the top ten.

We finally got Us a coach and staff!
The fact that he's raised my blood pressure more than I prefer is merely a by product.
I'll take it.

Go Canes...I can just picture the Punt Chain for the Gators. They’re down 51-3, but their punter nails his fourteenth punt of the early afternoon. Players are jumping up and down, cheering him on. The Special Teams coach runs over with a chain made of old, stale pasta noodles and tape and glue. A beat up sneaker is attached to the bottom of it.

There is an argument to be made that the best teams NOW should be in the playoffs. So early Ls can be excused by saying the team got better, and later Ls can mean the team fell off.
