Pretty sure that’s actually him just based on context clues... but I highly doubt he’s right.

Think he’s gonna go into agent business w Austin pfenniger, the walk on who just took his agent test.

Just saw that Epi. Dudes been posting some weird stuff lately, constantly trolling the Heat and arguing with some other guys.

Strange.

Ariz is leaving the biz apparently. Hmmmm

As far as the AH 4 goes, I’ll be happy with Silvera and one of the corners.

Totally Agree and Know That. Just had to appease my Negative Nancy lol

CaneRock

Nesta's coming, I read somewhere He didn't sign early because He wanted to accompany His AH teammates on their visits.

CaneRock

Barnes has offers Bama, UGA, OSU, UF, FSU, Clemson, etc....sounds like a beast to me.

But like TD said, He might project as an OG at the next level, and it seems like we have enough of those.

Call Me a Homer but uhhhhhhh....

I think we get all 4 AH Amigos that is the Positive Side

But

Negative Nancy in me says it's a chance we get only 1 and it may not even be Nesta!!

Trel didn't give much insight on Randy and the Rat, his speaking was more about the Firing of Golden and he actually didn't know it happened lol... it was funny because seemingly he read it first on my thread and not from a fellow teammate lol

Again Kevin Nelson basically gave a full rundown, and he was there!!

Dont we need OL? Herald:

Herald

"▪ Two Apopka offensive linemen — three-star guard Ed Montius and four-star tackle William Barnes — had talked about visiting UM but now won’t because UM is not inclined to allocate two scholarships to offensive linemen, their coach told Canesport."

"UM’s focus is on defense, plus receiver target Marquez Ezzard."

"▪ UM says even though Malek Young’s football career is over because of a neck injury, he should be able to live a normal life."

"According to Canesport, Maryland-based Camden Price is joining UM as a preferred walk-on but has a full scholarship because his parents are in the military."

"Price made four of five field goals last season and 70 percent of his kickoffs reached the end zone."

“They said on the visit that they play the best player on Saturday, so if I come down and kill it I’ll play,” Price told Canesport. “They have a scholarship kid coming in [Baxa], but it’s anybody’s job.”

"Price is rated the No. 12 kicker in the nation by Kornblue, a kicking rating service."

KNelson and Seantrel have responded to things on my Facebook.. but again KNelson is the most open of answers and they weren't directly summoned they spoke on their own accord.. lol greatest day was when Trel replied of my joy over Golden Firing!

The position coach should be managing his scholarships. They may take an area to look at kids, but if Kul sees an WR in his area, Dugans will bee on his way to see if that kid is worthy of one of his 2 to 3 scholarships. 1st coach makes contact, position coach is the real meeting, HC is the closer if needed.

PATRICK SURTAIN

American Heritage coach Travis Spiva told CaneSport on Thursday morning that Surtain has been home sick with the flu and might not take any visits this weekend. That could throw a wrench into having Surtain visit Miami the weekend before signing day, as he also wants to see Clemson (originally planned for this weekend) and Ohio State. Surtain’s father also wouldn’t be available to take a trip with Patrick this weekend since he’s attending the Pro Bowl as a Dolphins Coach of the Year nominee.

While Spiva said he couldn’t speculate on where Surtain might be leaning, CaneSport reached out to two other sources close to the situation:

Source 1: “LSU is first and then Bama and then Miami. I think he’s going to probably go on the visit (to UM) with Tyson and Nesta on the 2nd, that’s what they’re going to do and then go from there.”

Source 2: “I wouldn’t say Miami’s out of it, but Miami’s definitely not the frontrunner. I wouldn’t put them as 1 or 2. I would say it’s LSU first, then Bama, then Miami. Because of the family living here in South Florida, being happy living in South Florida and with two younger sisters in school they’re a possibility, though. I think they’re still weighing things out. I wouldn’t say he’s sure. I wouldn’t say Miami’s mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, so to speak.”

This source also said he thinks the family is “not sure” if Surtain will take an official visit to UM at this point.

TYSON CAMPBELL

Campbell is visiting Tennessee this weekend followed by Miami.

Spiva says Campbell is keeping his recruitment very quiet and it’s hard to say where he stands.

Here’s what two other sources close to the situation were saying about Campbell’s status:

Source 1: “Georgia is definitely ahead followed by ‘Bama and Miami. Miami’s running third in my opinion. He just likes the SEC type of ball and he loves Georgia. I think he’s infatuated a bit with `Bama because ‘Bama wins and plays for a national championship every other year plus they’re losing all their defensive backs so he can go and start right away.”

Asked if visiting UM the weekend before signing day can be a wildcard in Miami’s favor, the source said, “I think he’s just doing it out of respect for Mike Rumph.”

Source 2: “He’s going to Tennessee, maybe they can convince him but I can’t see him there. So I think it’s Georgia, Alabama and Miami. To be honest I don’t think he’s entirely sure. Where others may kind of know and are keeping it away from people, I think Tyson is really trying to sort it out. It’s a developing situation, use that term. He’ll take all the visits and then figure it out.”

ANDREW CHATFIELD

Chatfield is not taking any visit this weekend, per Spiva. “He’s done with visits but might be coming as a guest with Nesta (to UM the weekend before signing day; Chatfield already visited Miami officially).”

If that happens, of course, it would be a great chance for the Canes to try and send a final message as to why Chatfield belongs in Coral Gables. Spiva said he doesn’t have a sense for which way Chatfield is leaning.

The take of two other sources close to the situation on the talented recruit:

Source 1: Asked about the rumors that Chatfield may be swayed by having a girlfriend at UF, the source said, “I heard she’s involved but I also think FSU is a player also. The girlfriend is in Jacksonville, not in Gainesville. So Jacksonville and Tallahassee is closer, but I think ultimately it comes down to Miami and Florida.”

Asked his best guess as to which school wins out, the source doesn’t hesitate.

“Florida,” he says.

Source 2: “With Drew, anyone who thinks he would pick a school because his girlfriend is there is selling Drew short. He’s interested in his football career and wants to do really good things for himself. He’s going to make decision based on what would be best for him. There’s legitimate interest in Florida so no one should just discount them as distant in this process. But just how much interest he has in Florida is hard to say.”

NESTA SILVERA

Spiva confirmed that Silvera is set to take his official visit to Miami the weekend before signing day.

“He’s also going to visit Tennessee with Tyson this weekend,” Spiva said. “He said he’s committed and all that, is saying all the right things. But you can’t judge with some kids, they change their minds. It could be one thing one day, then the other thing.”

Here’s what a couple of other sources close to the situation said:

Source 1: “I think he ultimately decides to sign with Miami because his mother wants him to be close. He can be unpredictable, though.”

Source 2: “He visited Florida, now Tennessee and then will go to Miami. Anything can happen and I’ve told people that when it comes to Jade [Silvera’s nickname]. He’ll weigh things heavily, might feel one way at one point and then things can happen that can move him in another direction. He’s going to evaluate all the way up to the end. But Tennessee coming in late, I can’t see him winding up there.”

86Cane

Miami could beat them 48-0 nothing for the next decade and it would only partially salve the sting of that loss.

So who is it really that we’re supposed to be upset at for losing a recruit? The primary recruiter whose territory the recruit resides in? The position coach? Or the head coach, whose the closer? We have two recruits still in play because the primary recruiter has left their program, and we are looking for Richt to close...

His Royal Dudeness

Has the new redshirt rule been passed? When is it voted on?

TonyCane

There's something about closing out the Orange Bowl with a historic loss like that. Yes, the Clemson loss was worse in terms of score, and it also showed that a partially rebuilt Canes squad in 2015 was nowhere close to what was on paper a similar Clemson team.

Oddly, while I can't wait to see Clemson lose to Miami in the future - repeatedly - I feel differently about Virginia. The Cavaliers are on The List of Woe, much like Ohio State. Miami could beat them 48-0 nothing for the next decade and it would only partially salve the sting of that loss.

Dumbo and the Gator coach this year too.

SinisterCane

Ivins just posted this article

American Heritage Scoop
There's no question that some folks in Coral Gables think that things are trending up with five-star cornerback Patrick Surtain Jr. and trending down a bit with five-star cornerback Tyson Campbell. A trusted source said that the Hurricanes were somewhat surprised to see Surtain Jr. on campus last week for the men's basketball game against Duke, but at the same time not all that shocked as the U.S. Army All-American has been very receptive to recent conversations with Mike Rumph.

Both Rumph and Manny Diaz conducted an in-home visit with the Surtain family on Wednesday night. The buzz coming out of that meeting is that the Hurricanes will likely get Surtain Jr. on campus for an official visit the weekend before National Signing Day although that date isn't exactly locked in yet. One thing to note however is that Kerry Coombs (Surtain's primary recruiter at Ohio State) just accepted an NFL job which might take the Buckeyes out the running for an official visit in these final two weeks.

As for Campbell the folks at UM still remain optimistic. The plan as of early Wednesday morning is for the U.S. Army All-American to be on campus the weekend of Feb. 2 with his parents. Miami has saved the in-home visit with Mark Richt for next week and one contact connected to the recruitment thinks that could play a huge factor in the decision process. Remember last cycle Kai-Leon Herbert was dead-set on signing with Michigan until Richt sat in his living room and changed his mind. Georgia continues to feel good about where things stand.

Those close to Top300 linebacker/defensive end Andrew Chatfield believe that he remains torn between Miami and Florida. The good news however might be the fact that both of his parents want him at UM. Some also think that Ja'Juan Seider's decision to leave Dan Mullen's staff could ultimately swing things in favor of the Hurricanes as he was heavily involved in Chatfield's recruitment. Which also might be the case when it comes to Nesta Silvera. The Top100 defensive tackle spent this past weekend in Gainesville, but we have yet to hear anything that suggests he's wavering on his verbal pledge to Miami. He's expected to join Campbell in Coral Gables next weekend. We heard that Rumph and Diaz got plenty of face time with mom at AMH on Wednesday.

CaneRock

But if you read between the lines of Solar's post, He was basically saying that Shannon lost that team. And once a coach loses a team, very little chance He'll ever be able to hold a team together. Happened with Erickson, Coker, Shannon, & Golden.

Sat in the parking lot for 45 minutes after trying to figure out how we’d fallen so far so fast. It was horrible.

Only silver lining was at that point even security had packed it up and the stadium was still lit so we just walked back in and spent an hour taking pictures and throwing the football around on the field.

One of the best Canes moments for me ever after one of the toughest losses ever.

CaneRock

LOL...Solar was clairvoyant:

My observation is Shannon should take a long look at how Mark Richt coaches Georgia.

Those players are loose and play above their ability every game.
They don't fear getting yanked or benched every snap.

The HC is smiling during the game, even when they make a mistake he looks at them and shrugs his shoulders rather than intimidate them into their next fiasco.
If you intimidate players all week they will play like beaten dogs on Saturday.

From ESPN: So how's this for one last piece of Orange Bowl history? It was Miami's first home shutout loss since Oct. 4, 1974 against Auburn, and the Hurricanes' worst defeat since losing 66-13 at Syracuse on Nov. 28, 1998. The last time Miami lost by more points at home was in 1944, when Texas A&M beat the Hurricanes 70-14.

CaneRock

"Worse loss in program history" because of what?...because it was in the OB?...LOL.

People kill me with that "because it was in the OB" narrative...we would've lost to UVA 48-0 anywhere they played that game that night. As if we were a juggernaut before that night, hell, that game after Freemamn infamously went 1-14.

While both teams had enough talent on O to score more than 0 points, Golden's 15' team had waaaaay more talent. And the talent Golden had on D should've given up less than 58.

TonyCane

RCCF, what donthe old players say (in general)? I love inside books like “Shark Amongst Dolphins” or “Cane Mutiny” that really go into the behind the scenes. My opinions are based on what I have available...would love to hear some insight on what the players thought (or experienced) with Shannon, Golden, and Coker.

Some questions I would have:
- Was it simply the quality of Shannon’s staff that hindered player development when he was HC?
- Did the UM admin view Randy as a caretaker?
- Why did Coker fail to recruit wide receivers and running backs
- Was what Feliciano and Duke’s Mom said accurate about Golden...IE did we really play Stephen Morris with a partially torn Achilles?
- Did Golden know about Shapiro when hired (the story was already out in the Sun Sentinel weeks before he was hired)
- How close to Golden get to jumping to Penn State

CaneRock

He lost to teams he shouldnt have constantly and every excuse was made for the guy... 48-0 was on his watch.

Posted by: His Royal Dudeness | January 25, 2018 at 09:48 AM

48-0 was bad, but not worse than losing to Clemson 58-0, and certainly not worse than losing to Clemson & UNC by a total score of 117-21.

Golden's 15' team was waaaaay better than RS's 07' team.

CaneRock

IIRC, the Shapiro crap started either under Coker, or between the Coker & Butch eras. There's pictures of Him, Vilma, Wilfork, Winslow, etc. to prove it.

Switching gears real quick, nice win last night for the Canes men's basketball team. Any win is nice, but there were some areas of concern that continue to linger.

Walker (25 points) and Huell (18 points) were magnificent, but the others struggled on offense with missed shots and turnovers. The Canes defense seems to be solid, but the Canes have a lot of work to do on offense. IMO, too much dribbling and the dribbler creating his own shots. Not enough assists and ball movement. Still, it was great to see that the Canes found a way to get a win against a very good Louisville team in overtime at the WATCO Center.

Up next, FSU on Saturday.

Looks like Kirby Smart and UGA coaches are doing an in-home visit today with Tyson Campbell. If there's no commitment, Miami might be in good shape.

Shannon the guy who valiantly tried to keep the scum away from his program while administration embraced him and his stolen money?

Terrance Sullivan

Coach Shannon and Coach Golden had their pluses and minuses but at the end of the day are mediocre Non Power 5 Head Coaches at best. Nothing more nothing less. The Fact that neither Coach Shannon or Coach Golden aren't Head coaching another Power 5 school speaks volumes. Preach Furthermore, I put more blame on Athletic Directors because that's primary job hiring and firing coaches, coaches contracts, athletic budgets, sponsorship deals think Adidas, Nike, Under Armor, and naming rights on facilities, and fundraising, season tickets and booster sales. The President is worried about the whole University. Kirby Hocutt the AD during Shannon years and early Golden Years and Shawn Eichorst who was the AD during Golden years at least for 18 months. Just go back to September 2012 and our Athletic Program was in Dire Straights. Blake James takes over and look at our Athletic Program now in a little over 5 years and its one of the better programs going.

Shannon's tenure put us on probation and got us suspended....all while still having the exact same record as the next guy. If that doesn't say he is the worst of the 3, nothing will.

can hire a high school coach as a position coach and he can bring his players with him?

Yup.

Go Canes:
Here are the facts:
Al Golden is a filthy animal. Everything he did here was exactly wrong. His mother doesn’t like him. His father stinks of elderberries.

He had the #1 class each year after the season. By NSD those classes evaporated every year to end up with lower end of top 20.... which is the floor.

So a coach can hire a high school coach as a position coach and he can bring his players with him?

WWIN

Yes sir... it's great to keep losing studs in our own backyard!

His Royal Dudeness

Doesn't matter anyway.

Everyone knows the future of this program will be determined by whatever decision the two CBs from Heritage make.

Epi his last year here he had Richards, Quartermann, Picnkey, Jackson, Bethel, Allison, Byrd, Mullins and McCloud committed when he got fired.

Guess I look at the dumpster fires a ton of coaches who have everything going for them leave behind and have a hard time saying it was the worst it could have been. I'll just stick to my previous position of him being the best of our worst.

Doesn't matter anyway.

Everyone knows the future of this program will be determined by whatever decision the two CBs from Heritage make.

To be fair, Golden pulled in 6-8 four star players in 2012 - 2015, each class. That’s not the volume needed to pull on par with FSU, but it was on par with Clemson for much of that time and better than what any other team in the ACC was doing.

To be fair to Shannon, his collapse and job security in 2010 caused his class to fall apart. He had more than 3 players committed, but by the time he left it had fallen apart to just two players. That is less about Shannon and more to the change in coaching.

Both Shannon and Golden took chances with a lot of 3 star players. Look at the 2008 class (Shannon’s best) and you’ll see something like 16 of them are 3 and 2 star guys.

Huge win tonight for our Canes over the Cards to go to 15-4. Keep it going Canes. Now need our Women's Canes team to beat the Women's Cards tomorrow afternoon baby.

Sorry Go. Go back and read the reports and quotes from the high school coaches after he was fired.

As far as sheppherding the program thru the sanctions.... that’s bullshit. He was blindsided and tried to leave. Other than that he did what anybody else pulling a multi million dollar salary would... his job. (Poorly but he did it)

Go Canes!!

If it was that easy then why did Shannon have a grand total of three commits the day he got fired?

At the end of the day probably 80% of our starters this year were his recruits. He may not have been able to coach a lick on game day, but he kept us afloat during the worst thing we've had since Butch.

Last thing I'll say on this cause it doesn't matter anymore. Last three schools to undergo proloned scrutiny from the NCAA are Baylor, UNC and Ole Miss.

Their records this year were 1-10, 2-9 and 5-6. They had 5 wins combined against Power 5 teams. All three of those teams won their division in the years preceding their investigations.
