We interrupt our normal blogging and all things orange and green on this 4th of July 2018 to offer a very sincere THANK U to the red, white and blue and all of the men and women who serve their Country and defend our freedom.
Today we would like to say...Happy Birthday To the USA!
For all of those incredibly brave men and women who have served in the U.S armed forces and who have literally put their lives on the line to protect and defend the United States of America this blog is for U.
For all of the courageous men and women who recognized that freedom isn't free and found it necessary to put themselves in harms way we thank U.
For all of those Army soldiers who have fearlessly risked their lives to defend our Country in World Wars, regional conflicts and in other military battles against terrorists we honor U.
For all of those Navy sailors, who save the free world on the open seas, without concern for their own safety to defend the world's oceans we recognize U.
For all of those highly skilled Air Force pilots and their support crews who defend our airspace with their incredible talent and ability we salute U.
And for all of those who served as a Marine like my father who fought in Korea and served as a Staff Sargent in Camp LeJune, NC may God bless you and keep you safe and well. It's not easy being first in and last out.
We wish all American defense personnel and all U.S. citizens across our great Nation the peace, freedom and security that all sovereign Nations deserve.
We would like to take this opporuntity to wish all of our armed forces and all of our Canespace Nation family and friends a safe, happy and fun 4th of July.
Miami Hurricane fans salute U and ask that God Bless America!
Uno

I miss my Dad. He was a great father, patriot and warrior. Our Country needs more men like him today.
God bless the USA!

Spring evaluation period has passed, and it’s now the NCAA Quiet period on the recruiting calendar until the end of July. Paradise camp is coming at the end of the month. The Indoor Practice Facillity is coming along. Fall Practice starts in about one month.
CMR and his staff are preparing for the beginning of what should be a very special year on the field.

The "Greatest Generation" has passed and I see no replacements in sight. I am worried for our Country and our future.

The "Greatest Generation" was definitely unique and helped establish and sustain the freedoms that we enjoy as a country. Freedom is never given -- its earned!

The Hurricane nation lost one of their own this week. My Dad, Miami class of '55, has left this world after a brave struggle with Alzheimers.
There were periods in our relationship where the only thing we could agree on or talk about was Miami Hurricanes football. For that I will be forever grateful. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends...

Agreed, my Dad would have been 93 TODAY... (WWII Navy Vet.) He passed in '05 but was my golfing buddy for 25 years. They're not making them like him anymore.
Sota, so sorry for your loss.

Sota, so sorry for your loss. May your grief be assuaged by the happy Hurricane memories between you and your Dad. May he rest in peace.

I'm sorry, Sota. May your father live on in the thoughts and memories of all he knew and loved.

Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb.
Haven't even entered the league or signed his first contract and Lonnie Walker's alienating fans, sponsors and other players. Maybe the Spurs will let him cool his heels playing for the Turkish or Russian leagues for a few years, until he's appropriately contrite and mature.
Lonnie Walker's tweet which has since been deleted on his account read, "Will never celebrate 4th of July. Know your history!! and stay woke."
At the NBA Combine, Walker one-upped Kyrie Irving and called the Earth an “illusion”; he’s also questioned the moon landing.
The former Miami player also has denounced the practice of dolphin shows, recently earning him applause from PETA.

Don't care if he was a Cane. If that bastard showed up at a game I was at, I'd boo his ass.

Sota
Sorry to hear about your dad.
My mom went through 7 years of hell with Alzheimer’s. I know she’s in a much better place. Insidious disease.

Thanks for the kind remarks. My Dad was a special person to his family and friends and he was a die-hard Hurricane fan. I'll treasure the memories.

Thanks Go
My favorite line in the article could have been a pun and maybe a reference to recruiting boards
"competition inside The Star was chalk full of Miami commits and targets"

Ok guys, I am glass half full here. Listening to these activist #Parklandstrong kids - they are intelligent, well thought out amazing young people. I feel our future is very bright with these young people. Also our military - kudos to them!
Our biggest problem is career politicians and no one wanting to meet in the middle and work together.
Just my $0.02 fwiw.
Belated Happy 4th!

One day when there is more time I’ll tell my parents’ story.
It’s fascinating, harrowing, frightening, uplifting and tragic. Its a incredible testament to what real love of family and country is.
Soup is correct, regardless of country of origin, theirs was the last great generation.

The Greatest Generation was truly the greatest. MY Uncle Eddie, who passed last year at 95, told me harrowing stories about the war, that he told nobody else. Naval Aviator, he was. Picking up guys during the day, out of the ocean, in his PBY aircraft. Bombing the enemy at night. Lots of guts. My dad was in the Army Air Corps. Hated the Japs till the day he died. Enough of that.
What is Walkers problem. IMMATURITY.

Canes alumn Devon Reed had a pretty good summer league game for the Phoenix Suns last night, with 18 points on 6/7 shooting.

I like the Canes committed players, and for the uncommitted recruits, I would like to see the Canes get Neal and Stephenson, along with Richards, McIntosh and Sorrells or Fuller. With those recruits, along with the current class, I like this 2019 class regardless of their final recruiting class rankings. Important needs will be addressed with some big time players capable of winning one they are developed by CMR’s staff
