Somebody gets it!

Posted by: WWIN | September 04, 2018 at 01:40 PM

We all get it. Make no mistake. Coaches are to be held accountable. But I agree with Go to not start Weldon against LSU.

His Majesty The Dude on High

Dude, didn’t i tell you u to stop make my so much sense?

Good posting Dude!

Thank you sir.

AfriCane

Sheesh!

BigWindyCane

Seriously though, a true freshman 4* recruit should be able to come in and complete 50% of his throws at Miami against lower top competition, and over 55% against ACC Coastal teams.

Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 04, 2018 at 01:36 PM
Agreed. A 4 Star freshman should get 50%, and freshmen are doing it everywhere in college football. And if a QB can get you 60+% by their redshirt senior season for the Canes in today’s college football world, then something is very wrong.

Go Canes!!

This isn’t all of them, there were probably another dozen or more where he missed or the receiver made a twisting, diving or leaping catch. LAnyone blaming play calling needs to explain to me how these passes were too difficult. There’s at least one of every type of pass a QB is supposed to complete:

redshirt senior defensive lineman Gerald Willis III was named ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week

Willis might be a higher NFL draft pick than McIntosh and Norton

I didn't say start him vs lsu but I would have at least put him in at halftime... I would start him or Perry this week tho

CaneRock

The fact Rosier basically said that Richt had no adjustments for LSU's blitz package makes it pretty evident that it was play-calling. Making in-game adjustments is what seperates the average play-callers from the great ones.

As far as those high throws are concerned, that's a result of A, letting the ball go too early (AKA short-arming it), and B, playing too tight in the pocket.

Pass protection left Him out to dry, I don't blame em' for feeling ghosts. Hell even Blackledge was going on & on about how bad the O-Line play was.

Who's his position coach? Why was he better as a redshirt freshman than he is now???

CaneRock

And they need to find a more efficient way to use Thomas...sure He had 132 yds. receiving, but He probably ran 500 yds. to get it.

DallasTX Cane

Welcome home Soup. Hope U enjoyed the museum and Ur last couple of days in Big D.

Laughing at U all arguing about who gets more or less blame for that sh_t show we watched LIVE Sun night. Let me tell y’all...there’s enough blame for everyone. The fallout is so wide that not even the Band...not even the Cheerleaders... heck, not even Sebastian escapes blame!

OL = weak
RBs = potential but going to be hard to determine unless OL steps up
WR = only bright spot as far as I can tell, highlight show quality talent
Punter = short bus “special” teams
D = has potential but bonehead plays, aka penalties, + bonehead DC
decision (why mass substitute inexperienced players?!?) + no takeaways = long night
QB = Ineffective. U can argue all day every day. Fact is Malik is a fighter with more heart than talent. If he completes 15 passes; 7 will be 4-7 yard dinks with 0 yards after catch, 5 will be terribly under or over thrown forcing the WR to make a spectacular catch with again 0 yards after catch, and 3 will be thrown perfectly. I’ve been pulling for the guy because he is an underdog and a fighter who seemed to have the knack to win. He is lost against upper level teams though. He is likely mentally shot. We had guys open all game - he is way late delivering which says to me that he isn’t decisive which says to me that he has lost his self-confidence.

Coaches... ALL of them = Massive Fail. ALL bear responsibility and the captain of the ship bears the most. It IS his ship afterall.

So is there a light in the tunnel or do I subscribe to the Table Tennis TV channel and forget college football before the 2nd weekend of Sep??

Truth is that we won’t face a better defense, probably (teams change thru the season), and we have several cream puff games coming up to gain experience and confidence. It’s a long season and this team can still run the table.

Truth ALSO is that this team lacks leadership and played soft. LSU punched us in the mouth and we melted. We were starting to roll toward the middle of Q1, then we missed a FG, gave up a 1st down by late hitting their QB instead of getting the ball back and they scored a TD on that drive. A canes team then proceeded to hang its collective head and give up. Where was the Fire & Leadership? Gotta find some soon. We can win almost all our games based on talent but every top 25 team will whip our ass.

Sorry for the long post. Last thing... no appearance by the Turnover Chain. This is a bad stat that needs to change immediately or it will be a long season. All the TOs helped mask our offense’s problems last season. If we don’t get ‘em this season... trust me, Ed O did not out-coach anyone other than game planning no turnovers - don’t give Miami the ball, they’ll eventually beat themselves.

Awesome meeting 86 finally and a bunch of other ‘Spacers! Miami and Canespace represented well Sun night, well the fans did anyway

CaneRock

And I don't mind the vertical game so much, but we keep going vertical to the wrong guys. Cager's not a legit vertical guy...top 3 vertical guys on the team are JT4, AR82, & maybe Hightower. Freakin' Thomas has to run 50 yds. across the field to make a freakin' 10 yd. catch that He has to break the world high jump record for...makes no sense.

Go Canes!!

This literally made me lol.

Go back and watch the Duke game his freshman year.

CMRJR gets paid to make the QB's better... he ain't made one better yet

Go Canes!!

Posted by: WWIN | September 05, 2018 at 06:13 AM

This is total nonsense as usual.

He made Kaaya better. Actually much better and more consistent, to the tune of 1500 yards, 15 TDs with just one pick to end his career here.

And you have zero clue if he's made Perry, Weldon and Williams better.

I take that back...you have less than zero clue.

CoCane

Nosier is, was and always will be garbage. Sorry Willie

TonyCane

To be fair - we’re talking about Duke. They had one four star player on their roster in 2015. We should have handled them.

CaneRock

Posted by: TonyCane | September 05, 2018 at 09:56 AM

Well you can say the same thing about Kaaya at the end of 2016. He wasn't exactly torching the Alabamas and Clemsons of the world...those last 5 opponents had some of the worse pass defenses in CFB.

And if we're keepin' it real, Richt hasn't signed a HR at QB since He signed Aaron Murray, and that was 10 years ago.

Go Canes!!

Posted by: CaneRock | September 05, 2018 at 10:40 AM

The difference is Kaaya torched them. Malik is literally struggling just to get a completion.

His Majesty The Dude on High

Rosier is terrible, so are the OTs, and the guy that coaches them. Searels has yet to recruit an OT.

CaneRock

Rosier is terrible

Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 05, 2018 at 11:28 AM

So was Burrow, yet the rest of His team found a way to win. While our QB said our HC/OC had absolutely no answer for LSU's blitz package.

CaneRock

It's like I heard Vilma tell Chip Kelly on TV one time, "it's the game within the game" Great coaches make effective in-game adjustments...it's what seperates the average from the great.

They got a field goal on a 22 yard drive, a field goal on a 5 yard drive and a touchdown on a pick six.

They also had goal line grab that should have been reviewed and called incomplete, but that’s another story.

They had one 50 yard run and 13 additional points gifted to them.

Take away that long run and they had 206 yards of total offense.

Ridiculous way to give up 33 points.

We need our coaches to better.

Kaaya went from a 1st round pick to not being thought about and you know it! But we all know your football intelligence

WWIN

And you have zero clue if he's made Perry, Weldon and Williams better.

Posted by: Go Canes!! | September 05, 2018 at 07:56 AM

This right here shows how dumb you are! You always talking about how horrible Rosier is... Perry, Weldon, and Williams haven't been able to take Rosier's spot so do you think they've been prepared? If they can't take Rosier's spot what does that say about the coaching they've been receiving???

WWIN

Posted by: TonyCane | September 05, 2018 at 09:56 AM

What does that have to do with it? They were ranked and we weren't... and on the road

CoCane

I feel you on that Willie.

We haven't heard about any inside leak that 1 of the back ups are better then Nosier. Not 1...

If Perry, Weldon or Williams were even a hair better then Nosier. We would've heard something by now.

We have a paid assistant, who's only job is to coach QBs. Thats FOUR scholarship players on the roster, FOUR, and he had exactly ZERO of them ready to play LSU. I cant wrap my head around that. Its gross nepotism, he has proven he is not qualified to coach at Miami. This Rosier thing starts with the man who hired his son rather than bring in an experienced OC that can help this team. He put his son, ahead of Miami Hurricane Football.

This may be your biggest reach ever, and there have been some monsters.

Perry WAS SUSPENDED for the LSU game. So how the hell was he supposed to beat out Rosier??

Your answer is to throw a true freshman who's never played a down of college football into the game after halftime, down 24, on national TV against one of the best defenses and coordinators in the country?

And on the off chance that doesnt work, then throw your third stringer in there into a worse scenario, you know, to throw your team into complete chaos.

You have no idea how much Perry's suspension, something they decided on six months ago, affected their thinking for this game.

You just throw ridiculous sh1t against the wall and hope it sticks.

Get a grip. We all know you were all in on Rsoier and are now trying to spin it into something else.

Go Canes!!

Heard comments about Williams being the real deal throughout fall camp.

Hope that's the case and he can make a serious run at this thing.

His Majesty The Dude on High

We heard that about Perry also Go.

TonyCane

That's one thing about Richt. He's the anti-Bowden when it comes to suspensions. He's notorious for suspending any and all players in the opening game(s) of the season. No deferred discipline, no light punishment as other schools might (as is no thirds on desert, player gets coupons instead of currency from bagman)

You've got to be the dumbest most coach loving blogger that ever lived!

So you're tell us that playing Weldon or Williams would have been worse? Bama fans are glad Saban doesn't think like you!

Everybody else here would have gave Weldon a shot except you... but you wanna come at me about it???

So your plan is to complain about how bad Rosier but to not give the other QB's a chance???

Be honest... you like all the coaches on the staff and believes it's the players again just like when Golden was here right?
