The 2018 college football season is now just around the corner.
We are gearing up for what should be a special year for your Miami Hurricanes.
Can the Hurricanes win the Coastal Division?
Can Miami beat Clemson and have a chance to win the ACC?
Can they play in the college football playoffs?
Can they win the National Championship?
Time will tell and we will see.
Either way, we are ready!
Yesssss Yesssss Yesssss Brotha!

It appears this season, the Canes will have more ideal depth across the board. Offensive and defensive lines seem deeper, and the skill positions are deep as well. CMR seems happier with his current roster. We will see if it translates to success on the field this season

FWC reports high red tide concentrations found in Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte, Lee and Collier counties
Forecasts by the USF-FWC Collaboration for Prediction of Red Tides for Pinellas to northern Monroe counties predict variable movement of surface waters with net northern transport expected close to shore, and net southeastern transport of subsurface waters over the next three days.

I care.
They must find some solution and/or method of treating/killing it and preventing the spread. The impact long term on the tourism and fishing industry, not to mention the environment in general, could be catastrophic.

We absolutely will have more depth. This will be the deepest team in at least a dozen years.
Coker had depth problems towards the end of his career because of an inability to recruit wide receivers and quarterbacks
Shannon had depth problems at the beginning of his career, over-recruited at QB in 2008, then lost all of his backups in 2009.
Golden had depth problems to start with resulting from a bad final Shannon class, the NCAA investigation, and severe roster churn.
Richt has brought stability and has slowly, methodically, and logically improved depth and talent across the board.

Absolutely TonyCane. CMR has steadily began to build depth. I feel really good about what the Canes have on their roster. It’s the deepest team since Butch was building depth here.

Good news you shared GC about our defense. Safety Jaquan Johnson and linebacker Shaq Quarterman were both named to the CBS Sports Preseason All-American team. Johnson received first-team honors, while Quarterman was placed on the second-team.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Reed and Scalife get more playing time as the season goes on. We definitely have somee pieces in place, but that o-line is still a work in progress:
▪ The starting offensive line Wednesday was, as has been the case, left tackle Tyree St. Louis, left guard Jahair Jones, center Tyler Gauthier, right guard Hayden Mahoney and right tackle Navaughn Donaldson.
▪ The second-team offensive line was true freshman left tackle DJ Scaife Jr, (who replaced George Brown Jr. because Brown injured his MCL and was scheduled for surgery on his right knee, per UM), left guard Venzell Boulware, center Corey Gaynor, true freshman right guard Cleveland Reed Jr. and right tackle Kai-Leon Herbert.

Facts are he's a proven QB or RB (why not both?) on a national title contending team capable of pilling up big statistical season totals, which also describes 16 of the last 18 Heisman winners. So he's in a spot to potentially play his way to New York if he takes a step of development forward instead of off stage left immediately.
Posted by: orange 'n green in the vein | August 16, 2018 at 10:33 PM
I think he'll have a big season!
Posted by: thirstybuzzardcane | August 16, 2018 at 11:01 PM
Rosier needs to be more consistent and accurate. To make it to New York, Rosier should have 65% completion rate and less than 7 interceptions, which are all doable this season with this Canes offense, this schedule and these weapons. Everything else will take care of itself

Kyle Wrirgt for Heisman.

Are the rumors true that Deonte Thompson wants to transfer from Florida to Miami?

The playing field is very slanted-The U struggles to raise 20MM for the indoor facility and the Tide is raising 600MM-how do you compete?

Have no issue with Malik being there.
Said it before and I’ll say it again, just because he down right stunk for extended periods down the stretch doesn’t mean he can’t have a good to great upcoming season.
We’ll all see soon enough.

Posted by: Go Canes!! | August 17, 2018 at 08:43 AM
Lol the IPF has raised roughly 40 million at no point the IPF was 20 million come on man. Also Alabama thing is for the next 10 years and it's over several Sports. But keep on with that lame drivel you are trying to push. Apparently you didn't see the video or paid attention to all the things happening by the way if we are counting all the investment that helps Miami athletics in the within 2015-2020 it will be over a Billion Dollars so what's your point. TJL do better.
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | August 17, 2018 at 08:44 AM
Looks like Alabama is trying to keep up with Hard Rock Stadium! We have the best stadium in the country!
I was really upset when we left the orange bowl, but what we have now is amazing. University of Miami did the right thing by moving!

IMO, The Rock is also louder than the OB!

Thirsty A Thing of Beauty!
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | August 17, 2018 at 09:56 AM
Don't let anyone fool you, this IPF is very very nice. I have seen other IPFs around the country, and this will definitely be one of the best after the construction is completed.
I encourage everyone to visit the Coral Gables campus, look at the Canes new IPF, new athletic facilities and other new construction going up, and then go compare IPFs at FSU, Clemson and other ACC schools, and make your own judgments.
I guarantee that if you don't believe the IPF in Coral Gables is better, you will at least agree that it is comparable, and no opposing ACC coach could use it to negatively recruit against the Canes.
