The 2018 college football season is now just around the corner.
We are gearing up for what should be a special year for your Miami Hurricanes.
Can the Hurricanes win the Coastal Division?
Can Miami beat Clemson and have a chance to win the ACC?
Can they play in the college football playoffs?
Can they win the National Championship?
Time will tell and we will see.
Either way, we are ready!
Exactly Big Windy!

And now Miami saying they have raised 36 million for it hopes to raise 4 million more to finish making it completely state of the art IPF so the Final Price Tag is really 40 million. Sidenote Mr. Ross initially planned to put 450 million in 2015 into the Rock now its looking like the Final Price Tag will be 650 million when totally finished by 2020. Cost of doing bizness First Class!

All one has to do is look at the bleep Show the Athletic Program was in just 6 years ago in 2012. Blake James is promoted to AD in 2013 Jenn Strawley is promoted to Associate AD at the same time taking the job Blake had and let's see since then Adidas deal, IPF, hiring Of Coach Richt, renewing Coach L, Constant updates to Facilities, our Athletic Teams are performing at a very good level overall. Community service leaders, Academic success as well. Attendance up, Revenue up. Retention of Coaches is high unlike the previous 40 plus years where Coach Rentention was a turnstile no matter. Who was the president. Newsflash The President isn't only responsible for Athletics but all the Departments of the school which is several. That's the AD job and his or her Staff. Now next step is even more winning in all of our Sports. At least now I know if our Sports teams Win big I am confident we won't have 3rd world facilities we couldn't say that in the 70's 80's 90's 00's. Now back to the regular scheduled programming.

Hopefully there are no major injuries at tonight's closed scrimmage!
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | August 18, 2018 at 09:32 PM
The second Fall Scrimmage ended. It was closed to the media, and took place at Tropical Park. I don’t see any stats that were released, but CMR released a statement summarizing the scrimmage.
Not much to glean from CMR’s statement, other than there were a lot of big plays on both sides of the ball. CMR seemed pleased with the 1st string offensive line, and CMR said that they ran the ball well. CMR also seemed pleased with the entire first string defense.

Head Coach Mark RichtPost-Scrimmage Transcript – Fall Camp Practice #12
Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018
Tropical Park
On the second scrimmage of fall camp…
“A lot of touchdowns and a lot of interceptions. Big plays on both sides of the ball. It was kind of a big-play night. We ran the ball really well offensively, especially our number one group. I thought our offensive line played great with the ‘one’ unit [first string]. The ‘two’ unit had their moments, but not many. Number one defense pretty much dominated the day when they were in there, which is about what you would expect. Both sides of the ball, the number one groups did great. I’d say the ‘threes’ were about a wash. A lot of really great throws or a few bad judgment throws, with some of the younger guys. The balls were flying around tonight and somebody was catching it on either side of the ball. Overall, I was pleased with our camp. I think our coaches did a great job, I think our players did a great job.”
On what the staff wants to accomplish next week, before season opener preparation week begins for LSU…
“Wednesday is scheduled to be a ‘practice game’-type scrimmage. We’ll work on transitioning from scrimmage downs to kicking downs. We just haven’t done that, we’ve done it separately. Now, on Wednesday, we’re going to do it as it would happen in a game for the first time. We need that practice as much as the practice of the actual punts, the actual punt returns, kickoff and kickoff returns. We had a lot of field goal and extra point all camp. I’ll say this – the kids did a great job kicking the ball all camp. I’m really proud of the job of the snapping, the holding and the kicking tonight.”

3 RBs, maybe? Homer, Dallas and Choc? If so, that (along with an improved OL) would be very good news for the Canes hopes to move into the elite of CFB
Posted by: BigWindyCane | August 18, 2018 at 11:38 PM
Anyone new tested at TE, like one of the big WRs? With Irvin out and a lack of depth, would be necessary at some point I would guess. 3 headed monster? Love the teaser. Looking forward to 9/2.

The more fall practice moves along the more excited i get.
Rosier is making plays
Richards is back at 100%
1st team o-line seems to be developing,
Jordan looks to be the next mega beast at TE
CMR said the old school Canes would be proud of how we practice.
We are ready to complete and run the table all the way to Charlotte.

Go Canes I have no idea on the Second loss just have a feeling it will be a regular season loss. I have us winning the NY6 Chik Fil A Peach Bowl in Atlanta either against Penn State, Georgia, Auburn, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Michigan, or Michigan State. I hope we obviously are better than 12-2 I hope we are 15-0 and ACC and National Champions. I think this is most likely scenario.
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | August 19, 2018 at 01:39 PM
If I had to find potential regular season losses it would be:
FSU
At VT
At BC
Not sure which I’d rank as more likely.

Both QBs futile in LSU's final preseason scrimmage
Derick E. Hingle / USA TODAY Sports
If the final preseason scrimmage was any indication, LSU fans could be in for another long year in the quarterback department.
Both Joe Burrow and Myles Brennan struggled mightily Saturday, combining to go 15-of-43 for 167 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. They're the only two scholarship pivots left on the roster following the recent departures of Justin McMillan and Lowell Narcisse.
QB PASSING YARDS TD INT
J. Burrow 10-24 120 1 1
M. Brennan 5-19 47 0 1
Burrow came to the Tigers over the winter - bringing with him a great deal of fanfare - as a graduate transfer from Ohio State, where he served as a backup for the last two seasons.
Brennan was one of the top quarterback recruits in the 2016 class. The Tigers went to great lengths to keep him committed to the program after changing coaches partway through the 2016 campaign, but he's yet to live up to those expectations.
It's possible LSU could let its quarterback competition carry into the regular season. The Tigers kick off their slate with a blockbuster contest against Miami on Sept. 2.

More very good news from the scrimmage:
Malik Rosier played well in Saturday night’s scrimmage, as Robert Knowles told Canesport’s Matt Shodell at a UM community service event on Sunday. “He’s way better, great - he’s looking safeties off, executing well, throwing the ball excellent with good accuracy,” Knowles said. “He’s way better from last year.”
Travis Homer, DeeJay Dallas, Lawrence Cager, Jeff Thomas and Jhavonte Dean (two interceptions) were among others who played well. Bubba Baxa made all three of his field goals.

More good signs from Thomas Brown on TE, and RB:
During Saturday’s recent scrimmage, Jordan played every snap with the first team offense and offensive coordinator Thomas Brown was very impressed by the performance.
“Brevin flashed a whole lot on Saturday night,” Brown said on The Joe Rose Show on 560 WQAM on Monday morning. “He made some highlight plays and caught the ball very well. He took every snap with the number one offense, which says a lot. He didn’t have that many missed assignments. He has done really, really good.”
Jordan arrived at Miami ranked as the number one tight end prospect in the country. He showed his ability to make plays in the passing game during his senior season, totaling 1,111 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns at Las Vegas Bishop Gorman.
Brown has been pleased with the transition Jordan has made from high school to college.
“He is probably the most mature freshman that we have that is both physically ready and game ready,” Brown said.
“The number one unit on offense looked really good, probably the best that we have looked all camp as far as being on the same page and moving the ball down the field,” Brown said. “We had a couple of hiccups, we had one interception with the first unit that was just a mishap of where the ball was going.”
Brown, who is also UM’s running backs coach, admitted that he was also pleased with how the backs performed.
“I thought we ran the ball well,” Brown said. “Both Travis and DeeJay ran the ball well. DeeJay took most of the reps with the first team. DeeJay had around 12 carries while Travis had about seven.”
Senior Trayone Gray scored three touchdowns in the scrimmage, two with the first team and one with the second team offense. Over the past two weeks, it appears that Gray has secured a spot in UM’s playing rotation at running back.
“He put on some proper weight in the offseason and he has worked his way into great shape,” Brown said.
