That roll out throw to Cager may be the play that cemented Perry as starter next week. Perry is 15/18 for 200 yards and 3 TDs

Garvin Hall!
Posted by: BigWindyCane | September 22, 2018 at 05:47 PM
#12 could never drop the 🏈 in like that!!!
Posted by: CaneWarrior | September 22, 2018 at 05:48 PM
Bad throw on the INT. Can’t afford to have plays like that in ACC play. CMR can work with him to eliminate those types of straightforward errors
Posted by: BigWindyCane | September 22, 2018 at 06:01 PM
Perry is great at QB.
Richt still sucks at OC.
Posted by: 86Cane | September 22, 2018 at 06:03 PM
The Canes defense has been dominant. Could this be another shutout?
Posted by: BigWindyCane | September 22, 2018 at 06:03 PM
Hi ML,
No I was just speculating that he may, because the two freshmen tight ends are very talented and Perry has practiced more with them.
I think at one time Irvin jr was considering going to Texas but daddy wasnt having it
Posted by: solarcane | September 22, 2018 at 06:06 PM
Looks like Perry is leading the second and third string offenses. Future looks very bright. Recruits like seeing all these freshmen playing
Posted by: BigWindyCane | September 22, 2018 at 06:17 PM
Richt leaves Cager in we would have had two more tds
Posted by: solarcane | September 22, 2018 at 06:17 PM
OC> everybody suck
Posted by: solarcane | September 22, 2018 at 06:20 PM
There goes the shutout

Damnit
Posted by: IraqiCane | September 22, 2018 at 06:28 PM
VT tied with ODU at 28, late in that game. ODU is comparable toFIU
Posted by: BigWindyCane | September 22, 2018 at 06:29 PM
VT in a fight tied at 28 in the 4th.
Posted by: IraqiCane | September 22, 2018 at 06:29 PM
Ok our 4th guys are lucky Jimmy Johnson isnt on the sideline right now
Posted by: solarcane | September 22, 2018 at 06:29 PM
Funny how Andre Ware continues to criticize us about running up the score andd now talks about karma when his Houston teams ran up the score all the time including putting up 93 points on the post death penalty SMU Mustangs. He tried to defend himself by saying he was on the bench in the 3rd and 4th quarters of those games but David Klingler was his backup and continued to throw downfield.I think Ware just doesn't like Miami.
Posted by: Tim | September 22, 2018 at 06:29 PM
Remember how we used to complain that Golden would never play the young guys, not the case any more!
Posted by: IraqiCane | September 22, 2018 at 06:34 PM
Tim,
Klinger threw 11 tds against E Washington.
Then right before we destroyed them I think it was Jerome Brown said this ones gonna be for all the East Washingtons in the world.

hoki4es are in trouble
Posted by: mi@mic@ne | September 22, 2018 at 06:42 PM
Thats true Solarcane. He did that in the 1990 season when he replaced Andre Ware who was the starter in 1989 and Heisman Trophy winner and top ten pick of the Lions but in the 1989 season he was Ware's backup. Miami blew them out early in the 1991 National Title Season.
Posted by: Tim | September 22, 2018 at 06:43 PM
Is FIU going to beat the spread?
Posted by: nemo2002 | September 22, 2018 at 06:45 PM
Wow some of these backups are terrible!
Posted by: Tim | September 22, 2018 at 06:46 PM
We called off the dogs?

Remember how we used to complain that Golden would never play the young guys, not the case any more!
Posted by: IraqiCane | September 22, 2018 at 06:34 PM
To be fair, we weren't often in position to rest the starters and play the backups then.
Posted by: TonyCane | September 22, 2018 at 06:54 PM
True LOL!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Posted by: IraqiCane | September 22, 2018 at 06:56 PM
The Old Dominion QB LaRussa 26-42, 428 YDS, 3 TD

Perry looking off the d backs and throwing darts Everybody suck
Posted by: solarcane | September 22, 2018 at 04:20 PM
This is a big deal.
I know it’s just fiu, but you guys talking like we got something to work with.
Had to work again, so can’t catch it live.

Willing is hard fellas.
VT down 7 late 4th to Old Dominion late 4th.

The poise isnt there, but the throws are effortlessly fast, and accurate. Sharp thrower, needs work in the pocket and playbook. A lot of bubble screens, but they are super effective because they get there in a hurry, and they are right in the chest.

Good chance #13 & #17 go down. Canes looking at #19ish.
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 22, 2018 at 07:16 PM
Maybe as high as #16 depending on what happens through the course of the night.
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 22, 2018 at 07:18 PM
0-3 ODU bout' to beat VT...BC lost to Purdue...who was that dude that said VT & BC were the 2 toughest teams left on our schedule?
Posted by: CaneRock | September 22, 2018 at 07:19 PM
Brutal, ugly weekend for the ACC.
Posted by: Go Canes!! | September 22, 2018 at 07:23 PM
Lol I was wrong on BC and VT Canespace Family. I apologise.

I did CaneRock I was wrong. I apologise.
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | September 22, 2018 at 07:35 PM
With the VT loss, and maybe another top 25 team losing, the Canes might have a chance to move up a couple of spots, even though the final score doesn’t look that impressive
Posted by: BigWindyCane | September 22, 2018 at 07:47 PM
LOL Terrence.
Posted by: IraqiCane | September 22, 2018 at 07:48 PM
The new blog will be very ugly.

Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | September 22, 2018 at 07:34 PM
I accept your apology fam. 🤣
I was going to dig up your post telling me BC would be tougher than FSU. Almost as bad as when I said Yearby wasnt that good coming out of high school, then saw him foe the Canes and said he reminded me of Portis, only for him to flop out on us. Lol.

🙈
Posted by: BEERicane | September 22, 2018 at 07:52 PM
We are #19 at a minimum right now.
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 22, 2018 at 07:53 PM
We need
#14 Mississippi State
#15 Oklahoma State
#18 Wisconsin
#20 Oregon
to lose, then we shoot up rankings.
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 22, 2018 at 07:56 PM
then we shoot up rankings.
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 22, 2018 at 07:56 PM
Definitely possible
Posted by: BigWindyCane | September 22, 2018 at 08:21 PM
5 star wr jaden haslewood was at the game. This is his 3rd visit on his own dime. So he definitely has interest. Helped that he got to see perry play. Also Bogle was there after canceling his trip to Tennessee.

Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 22, 2018 at 07:15 PM
It was his first real action. I am just glad he was hot throwing the ball. He will get better.
Was he tucking and running too fast or short arming the ball when he saw ghosts?
Posted by: TruCane81 | September 22, 2018 at 08:40 PM
If Perry makes progress, it could drum up a lot of interest on the trail.
Did we give up the late points mass subbing?
Posted by: TruCane81 | September 22, 2018 at 08:45 PM
Trucane81 no it was the 3rd team defense that gave up the points.
Posted by: Canes4life | September 22, 2018 at 08:54 PM
Didn't get to see the game but good to see Perry do well. Love seeing the TE utilized. Our TE's should be catching 5 to 6 balls a game. Will open up the WR's, if they call all don't end up in sick bay. Young DB's are going to get used some. I remember Rumph getting abused by Penn. St years ago late in a game that we lost. He was a soph. I think.
Posted by: Herbieibis | September 22, 2018 at 09:16 PM
Perry did well! He will struggle against better defenses which is part of the process. Some of those passes he squeezed in today will be intercepted.
Overall, I saw him grow today by looking off and not staring at his target.
Defense looked awesome through 3 quarters. The starters held them to something like 45 yards total.
Posted by: thirstybuzzardcane | September 22, 2018 at 09:21 PM
Terrence I too thought BC would be a tough game I admit it
Posted by: solarcane | September 22, 2018 at 09:21 PM
I think we should run the table but it's all up the Richt and his play calling.
Posted by: thirstybuzzardcane | September 22, 2018 at 09:23 PM
Tim good info
I detested Klinger,
The two quarterbacks I have the most respect for that we played against were Marvin Graves and Charlie Ward
Posted by: solarcane | September 22, 2018 at 09:25 PM
We will lose ugly if we do run the table and play Clemson. Miami isn't quite there yet to play with the big boys.
Posted by: thirstybuzzardcane | September 22, 2018 at 09:27 PM
Cmon Kentucky
Posted by: solarcane | September 22, 2018 at 09:31 PM
Dude,
Kentucky playing Miss St tough
Posted by: solarcane | September 22, 2018 at 09:34 PM
So Willis says after the game - gonna watch tape of unc tonight!’ That’s just great!
I wish Diaz had a strong base defense to close out games - 31-0 and a corner blitz with a bunch of young guys - not so smart
On offense, we need to keep using Jordan to open everything else up!
Thursday night - will be fun
Posted by: AeroCane | September 22, 2018 at 09:35 PM
Manny is who he is a blitzkreig. He takes to many chances that he often doesn't have to take. He can't help himself. If he could learn to disguise his blitzes, he might be smarter than he thinks he is.
Posted by: Herbieibis | September 22, 2018 at 10:11 PM
Thirsty...I was at that game where we ended Houston’s viability as a program. For the next decade they were on a Cane imposes death penalty.
Crowd was raucous. Wish that Yamma Yamma was still here.
Posted by: TonyCane | September 22, 2018 at 10:12 PM
Next blog will not be nice.
Posted by: 86Cane | September 22, 2018 at 10:19 PM
Acc aside from Clemson is pitiful. Most teams can not sustain consistency from year to year. No way we should lose to anyone, aside from Clemson. You cannot play at a high level 12 weeks in a row but even if offense struggles the defense should be there. NC losing to Purdue and VT losing ODU, are u kidding me!
Posted by: Herbieibis | September 22, 2018 at 10:24 PM
heck yeah solar. Tech also
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 22, 2018 at 10:26 PM

Oak. St. Getting hammered by Texas Tech. Amazing how teams lay down on the road and that includes us. Dam field is still 100 yds. Long.
Posted by: Herbieibis | September 22, 2018 at 10:31 PM
here comes Stanford
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 22, 2018 at 10:33 PM
We need
#14 Mississippi State (lost)
#15 Oklahoma State (losing bad)
#18 Wisconsin (losing)
#20 Oregon (winning)
to lose, then we shoot up rankings.
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 22, 2018 at 07:56 PM
And #17 TCU and #13 VT already lost.
Posted by: BigWindyCane | September 22, 2018 at 10:37 PM
Meant bc getting housed by Purdue. I guess we pissed Toledo off, they put 60 sumthing points on Nevada.
Posted by: Herbieibis | September 22, 2018 at 10:38 PM
Tech is gonna win, Miami #18.
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 22, 2018 at 10:38 PM
Irving might as well adios it. He ain't the playmaker his old man was.

Down goes Miss St. Miami #17
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 22, 2018 at 10:42 PM
We need to get I side the top 10 by game 7, then let the chips fall where they may. No way we can handle Bama or probably Osu or Clemson. Too much depth of talent but it would be fun to try.
Posted by: Herbieibis | September 22, 2018 at 10:49 PM
Posted by: Herbieibis | September 22, 2018 at 10:49 PM
Exactly. After 4 or 5 teams, its a lot of equal teams. Miami is in that next mix from 6 through 10.
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 22, 2018 at 10:52 PM
We get the spotlight on Thursday. Hoping for a 41-17ish win and watching others lose on Sat.
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 22, 2018 at 10:54 PM
I thought Stanford going for it was a mistake.
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 22, 2018 at 10:56 PM
Iowa will jump in, TTech and Kentucky. One might leap the canes.
Posted by: BEERicane | September 22, 2018 at 10:56 PM
Sorry, Iowa could, TTech and KY probably will.
Posted by: BEERicane | September 22, 2018 at 10:57 PM
Dont think so Beer. LSU loss isnt looking so bad anymore, but you may be right.
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 22, 2018 at 10:57 PM
Plus the new QB will be a positive story line
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 22, 2018 at 10:58 PM
AR82 and JT4 could run wild Thurs night
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 22, 2018 at 10:59 PM
While I completely agree Dude, Wisky still ended up ahead of us despite getting embarrassed and we didn’t move up at all despite the LSU loss clearly not looking as bad last week. We are under ranked. Out Defense is straight nasty.....
Posted by: BEERicane | September 22, 2018 at 11:00 PM
What’s the status of JT4 and Ahmon?
Posted by: BEERicane | September 22, 2018 at 11:01 PM
With Perry at QB, the Canes ceiling is a lot higher
Posted by: BigWindyCane | September 22, 2018 at 11:06 PM
We'll see Beer, I'm optimistic we are #17. If Stanford beats Oregon, not looking good, maybe #16.
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 22, 2018 at 11:07 PM
I thought Stanford going for it was a mistake.
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 22, 2018 at 10:56 PM
I said the same thing. Their kicker must be bad!
Posted by: thirstybuzzardcane | September 22, 2018 at 11:08 PM
Posted by: BEERicane | September 22, 2018 at 11:01 PM
Hopefully AR is ready, not sure on JT, and just when we get a QB that can reach out and touch them, of course...
You know whats funny. I saw Perry laughing with Richt after that deep INT he threw. Coach told him that was the best punt of three day, lol. 😂
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 22, 2018 at 11:10 PM
Posted by: thirstybuzzardcane | September 22, 2018 at 11:08 PM
Maybe so, but in the 4th qtr, you have to take the points and tie it up.
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 22, 2018 at 11:11 PM
I think we should hold out Richards and Johnson for UNC. I want them fully healthy for FSU so we can really beat the shit out of them. We should beat UNC easily without them.
Posted by: thirstybuzzardcane | September 22, 2018 at 11:12 PM
Oregon is gonna win. Stanford might drop in just ahead of us.
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 22, 2018 at 11:16 PM
whoa Stanford miracle?
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 22, 2018 at 11:19 PM

Oregon no. 34 you suck
Posted by: solarcane | September 22, 2018 at 11:38 PM
#20 Oregon loses to a very good Stanford team at home. #18 Wisky wins 21-17
Posted by: BigWindyCane | September 22, 2018 at 11:42 PM
Wisky runs a reverse for a TD with 22 seconds left on the clock instead of taking a knee.
Posted by: BigWindyCane | September 22, 2018 at 11:44 PM
keep an eye on ASU & #10 UW. only a 7 point game
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | September 22, 2018 at 11:49 PM
