Yes peacock bass were stocked in the late 80s early 90s to control the Oscar population. All the other species not native were dumped by people.

Agreed but when I said this a while back I got screamed at by the few on here that will not be named!
When the play is in front of he, he’s a monster - otherwise not so good.

Romeo is going to be a hero or goat in this game I think
- taggart knows he can’t go deep too often because of our pass rush so Romeo is going to get his chances on the quick short passes

Canes4life,
I remenber catching Peacock Bass by the Miami airport before almost anyone had ever heard of them.
Once Jimmy Houston caught a couple monsters in South America the word spread like wildfire that you could catch them in Dade County and as they say "It was on"
Oscars on yellow Beetlespins are hard to beat when nothing else is biting

Go Canes!!

Yeah those peacock are completely invasive and pretty much the kings of the hill.

About six years ago we had a bad freeze down here and it seemed like thousands of them ended up belly up in all the local lakes. Thought it would take forever for their numbers back to how it had been.

But they are back stronger than ever.

Go Canes,
I moved up to the very north part of Georgia 14 years ago. South Florida had a lot of Peacock bass and Oscars plenty of feral hogs.

My son keeps me posted about all the newer invasive species. Pythons, iguanas, weird aquarium fish.

Growing up in the 50s all we had to bitch about was Australian Pines, Bamboo and maybe a couple New Yorkers.

raizecane,
