We came, we saw, we got massacred Texas Chain Saw style.
That was the story of your Miami Hurricanes visit to AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas on the Sunday before Labor Day.
The stadium was as beautiful as advertised but the LSU Tigers mauled Miami and won convincingly 33-17 in a totally lopsided affair.
The game was basically close until the end of the first quarter but was never in doubt beyond that as Miami simply could not score.
Blood and guts were everywhere and it was not pretty as the Hurricanes got sawed up big time in "The Big D".
The same old UM offense under Mark Richt showed up and stunk up the place in another hapless and pitiful performance. They had no clue what to do or how to do it and looked lost and confused. Every phase of the offense was poor.
The Miami defense also did not hold up their end of the bargain as they got beat physically and mentally over and over again. The vaunted and often feared turnover chain never made it out of its carrying case, and as a result, the momentum never swung for the Hurricanes.
It was a horrible game and a horrible way to waste a couple thousand dollars on supporting what has now appears to be a bad investment.
Based on this performance, here is what we think about the current situation and what should happen now:
- Richt is an average head coach and has not lived up to the hype (his team was completely unprepared).
- Richt is a below average offensive coordinator (his play calling and the offensive execution were awful).
- His son should be fired at QB coach tomorrow. He hasn't done anything for anybody.
- QB Malik Rosier is not good. He is inaccurate and inconsistent at best and has regressed since last year.
- The offensive line is itself offensive and their coach should be fired yesterday. Weakest link on the team.
- The Canes should go for it on fourth down and whatever because their punter and special teams are embarrassing.
- The defense needs to go back to basics and stop telegraphing their blitzes before the snap.
- The fans, cheerleaders and band are the best part of this "team".
This nonsense needs to stop and stop now. Otherwise this season will be lost, and this team will regress once again.
And that is simply too much to take for the Hurricane faithful who spend BIG money to celebrate their team, not to suffer humiliation.
Sorry, that should have been 76 not 78 yrs old.
TrueCane I agree with your thinking.

Dont post much anymore, but reading Harry Miller's comment made me smile.
Very rare to see comments from someone that puts college football in perspective.Enjoy each others company, take in the event like soup does use each of your senses.
South Florida Miami fans live in the
greatest place on earth, unfortunately the University of Alabama isn't located in Coral Gables. We aren't an elite team, we were an elite team for a very short portion of colege football history, we may well never be an elite team again. Enjoy watching the kids, support the school.
Tom,mad props for keeping the doors open,I will drop by more often.

Nash from USF bout to beat Georgia Tech by himself.
Dude has run back two straight kickoffs.
Look like another Dante Hall.
Posted by: TruCane81 | September 08, 2018 at 12:39 PM
Damn autocorrect. Kid name is Horne.
Manny better get his shyt together. Georgia Tech’s qb got blazing speed and is a surprisingly good thrower.
We rely on miracles, it will be an L for sure.
Posted by: TruCane81 | September 08, 2018 at 12:43 PM
Their kick coverage is suspect, but Horne is a 10.3 100m with good vision and decent wiggle.
He will run back a lot of kicks for Strong.

They have to do away with that targeting call. It's such BS! Watching GT, and GT player just got ejected. His helmet hit the shoulder pads of the receiver.
Posted by: thirstybuzzardcane | September 08, 2018 at 12:48 PM
It’s complete bs and they try to use safety as an excuse.
If you gonna eject for targeting, it should only be for launching and throwing elbows at the head.
No player should be ejected fore incidental contact.

Go CANES! Wish I were there with all of you.
THANK YOU TOM for giving me the setting when I was with all of you at the game. I made one of the photos as my screen saver.
The game today is critical. I look forward to reading all of you EXPERTS tonight.

Im just saying - if Lincoln Riley or Kirby smart we’re our coach - would feagles or rosier even be on the team?
Richt is such a bad OC that he can’t put together a more dynamic game plan for a more dynamic qb!
I’m just pissed - still - sorry
Posted by: AeroCane | September 08, 2018 at 03:16 PM
It appears that South Florida starting QB Barnett is better than Rosier
Posted by: BigWindyCane | September 08, 2018 at 03:28 PM
Francois at FSU, Milton at UCF and Barnett at USF looked better. Even Franks at UF looked good in the opener. None are 5th year seniors. It’s time for Rosier to play a lot better, or it’s time to look to the future with Perry, Weldon or WILLIAMS.
Posted by: BigWindyCane | September 08, 2018 at 03:42 PM
The Canes are a 63.5 point favorite for the game tonight. Crazy!
Posted by: BigWindyCane | September 08, 2018 at 03:51 PM
Richt has had two 4 game losing streaks in only 2 years

There... FIFY!
Posted by: WWIN | September 08, 2018 at 04:20 PM
Georgia and South Carolina... two teams that ruined it for us!
If South Carolina had not been in a hurry to hire Kirby, Georgia would have kept CMR and we would have brought Butch back!

This is either the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard or a joke. Can we not get it thru our freaking heads - rosier sucks! And richt sucks more for having the skills and balls to move on
Posted by: AeroCane | September 08, 2018 at 04:49 PM
Sarasota is in the house!
Posted by: 86Cane | September 08, 2018 at 04:54 PM
I would not play Rosier at all this game. Instaed start one of the other QB's give him a chance for at least 1 qtr if he plays well leave him in for the first half then give another QB some playing time in the second half. We need to know now if we have another QB that can play before it's to late. We can't wait until the Fla St, game to find out. It's now or never.
If one looks good play him in the next game, give him some experience, Let's get this show on the road. Rosier is Rosier weather he plays or not.

The parking lot is full but the stadium is empty. I'm just saying.

Travis Homer just fumbled at midfield. Savannah State ball.
Posted by: TonyCane | September 08, 2018 at 06:11 PM
The way we play on O is making Savannah State's D look like 'Bama.
Posted by: VfB_Cane | September 08, 2018 at 06:22 PM
Keep this in mind. Savannah State has done so poorly as an athletic program that they are moving down to Division II football next year.
Posted by: TonyCane | September 08, 2018 at 06:25 PM
They are literally not throwing downfield on purpose because they don’t think Rosier can do it.

I found it on tv. I spoke into my remote U of Miami vs. Savannah State, and pictures of games came up. Low and behold, there it was!! Internet game being televised. I made the mistake of channeling up and down and lost it. But I tried again and found it. It isn't a channel; it's televised internet.

Rosier done for the rest of the game. Perry getting some work with the 1s
Posted by: BigWindyCane1 | September 08, 2018 at 07:30 PM
I would agree Solar you have it about right. The last really good team was 2001-03....no doubt the best ever in my mind. since then its all been tough. Competition for players is really intense and it hard to beat out the big schools based on on a team from 15 years ago; kids were babies then and that is long ago....ahh #9 Dream John Lennon.
I just do not see that every day intensity that physical style up front on both sides of the ball..the DBs...even the backs...not like the big teams.
I think last year they were good, but never #2...the last 3 we saw who we really are.
We peaked vs ND....since then Wisky and LSU physically pounded us.
Will we ever get back there....no telling but that start tells me not this year...but take 1 at a time and we will see.
Hope you all are well!
