We came, we saw, we got massacred Texas Chain Saw style.
That was the story of your Miami Hurricanes visit to AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas on the Sunday before Labor Day.
The stadium was as beautiful as advertised but the LSU Tigers mauled Miami and won convincingly 33-17 in a totally lopsided affair.
The game was basically close until the end of the first quarter but was never in doubt beyond that as Miami simply could not score.
Blood and guts were everywhere and it was not pretty as the Hurricanes got sawed up big time in "The Big D".
The same old UM offense under Mark Richt showed up and stunk up the place in another hapless and pitiful performance. They had no clue what to do or how to do it and looked lost and confused. Every phase of the offense was poor.
The Miami defense also did not hold up their end of the bargain as they got beat physically and mentally over and over again. The vaunted and often feared turnover chain never made it out of its carrying case, and as a result, the momentum never swung for the Hurricanes.
It was a horrible game and a horrible way to waste a couple thousand dollars on supporting what has now appears to be a bad investment.
Based on this performance, here is what we think about the current situation and what should happen now:
- Richt is an average head coach and has not lived up to the hype (his team was completely unprepared).
- Richt is a below average offensive coordinator (his play calling and the offensive execution were awful).
- His son should be fired at QB coach tomorrow. He hasn't done anything for anybody.
- QB Malik Rosier is not good. He is inaccurate and inconsistent at best and has regressed since last year.
- The offensive line is itself offensive and their coach should be fired yesterday. Weakest link on the team.
- The Canes should go for it on fourth down and whatever because their punter and special teams are embarrassing.
- The defense needs to go back to basics and stop telegraphing their blitzes before the snap.
- The fans, cheerleaders and band are the best part of this "team".
This nonsense needs to stop and stop now. Otherwise this season will be lost, and this team will regress once again.
And that is simply too much to take for the Hurricane faithful who spend BIG money to celebrate their team, not to suffer humiliation.

I agree that Perry by far has the most arm talent. Having a chance to watch all four play, it’s obvious that Perry is an elite talent. Perry still stares down his receivers and probably needs to learn defenses and adjustments, but his ceiling is very high. There is no comparison between Rosier and Perry from a talent perspective. Perry has the best arm talent for a Canes QB since Kaaya left. And his teammates know it.
With 3 TD passes, Perry did a great job in his first-ever college football game. The QB position is a complicated and isn’t easy to step in and play at a high level right away. But CMR can find a way to make him effective.
I would not object at all to see Perry play more. If Rosier struggles, I would like to see Perry get a chance.

3) Our offensive line is borderline putrid.

So now that we’ve seen Searels’ body of work so far, should CMR have kept Kehoe?

Hi there all. Out of the 3 back-ups I like Williams and Weldon. But it was Savannah State so who knows. Fun to see everyone at the game.
How about that hit by Amari Carter? In an interview Jeff Thomas said 'I heard it" when he was running. LOL.

Actually Williams has the best arm talent on the team

Damn we need 5 star linemen to knock Bumfuq State off the ball?
We can’t absolutely physically dominate a fcs school that is so bad they are dropping down to DIVISION 2?
Something is wrong with this picture.
Wish I could have caught the game.
Way y’all talking about Thomas, would it be safe to say he is a Steve Smith type?
Lingard looked more explosive than our very, very good upperclassmen?Who would you guys compare his running style to?

Agree with the majority of this post except...
1) Even if the freshmen aren't ready it's pretty much too toxic to play Rosier now... from the fans and players perspective... you have to show them you are trying to do something. Shout to my client HMTDH so his trademarked "toxic"
4) We always go vanilla against cupcakes anyways... no need to show your hand against these guys.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
And I'll add...
You can obviously tell that our QB's are not being developed... they are playing on natural talent ONLY!
Deejay Dallas should start over Homer.

Searels still hasnt signed an OT, just putting that out there. All Gs and Cs, no OTs.

I would love to see Kehoe back!

Think they project Scalife as an OT and they do have one of the top guys in the country committed.

Interesting:
“I will say N’Kosi throws it pretty hard, but he has such a good spiral that you don’t have to really adjust your hands,” Jordan said. “You can just make a dime and catch the ball. Malik is a good passer, but at times you have to adjust your body in certain situations.”

Jordan said what all the players are thinking. Players catch Perry’s ball and can still get YACs. Everything is easier. Perry has a lot more upside in this offense. The playmakers like a QB like Perry

Stoutland was our best OL coach in the last ten years, IMHO. Kehoe was not very good under Golden, and the talent Kehoe recruited on OL was actually not as good as Searles .
Posted by: BigWindyCane | September 09, 2018 at 12:09 PM
I would like to see what Lingard can do once he learns the playbook. Lingard looks like an elite RB talent that the Canes haven’t seen in a while. Lingard is not only super fast, but he follows his blocks, has good vision and is more of a pure runner. Lingard should move up the charts and get some touches.
Deejay Dallas probably needs more touches, and looks a little better than Homer.

No. These guys are poorly coached, plain and simple.
If they were being overpowered physically (which does happen) that’s one thing. But they also have terrible technique and poor mental performance.
Searles is stealing money and there is no excuse for how bad these guys look so often.

TD they have him at second team LT. Do remember reading about
him dominating at that position in the all star games he played in.
They are also recruiting a must get in Evan Neal who is one of the best in the country.

I hear you, what I am saying is, just because you play a guy at T, dont make him a T. Neal is a must get, along with about 4 or 5 more T types. We should take 6 OL.

I'd like to see more Lingard, Silva, and Gaynor; less Homer, Bethel, and Jones, plus all the backup QBs again. I'm also intrigued by Steed.
Posted by: Old Skool | September 09, 2018 at 02:38 PM
Like to see Perry do a lot more run pass options...he was the most accurate of the qbs and he has the physical tools to keep the d guessing in that dual role .

Read we played 23 freshmen last night. If we don’t do something foolish like let Toledo make it a game, hopefully we’ll see all this guys a ton more over the next two weeks and hopefully even against UNC.
The Heels are horrible (yes. I remember what happened last year).
Posted by: Go Canes!! | September 09, 2018 at 03:31 PM
Start Perry I’m done. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand that his athletic ability outweighs the freshmen excuses. Play him or continue to see balls n the dirt and over throw city.
Posted by: Elliott | September 09, 2018 at 04:22 PM
Go ahead and vault it we will NOT beat Va Tech, Pitt, FSU (Yes the same FSU that nearly lost to Samford) and Boston College IF Malik is taking a majority of the snaps in the 1st half. He will put us n a hole that we can’t get out of. You can call plays to Perry’s strength and I think run the table with out offensive weapons. Lingard should be getting at least 8 touches a game. His speed is unreal.

Williams is better than Perry and Weldon. If anything I would start him, but the kid doesn't know the playbook yet.

Our playbook is a myth... no one has ever touched nor seen it!

Williams completed 1 pass vs Savanna State and now he is better than Perry & should start?
Posted by: Wild-Cane | September 09, 2018 at 07:41 PM
Perry showed the accuracy needed to win moving forward. It's hard to say Cade or Williams cause you have very little to go on. However from what I saw from Perry he is the QB. He needs some work with the 1st team and he’s going to make some bad decisions like the Interception but you can see he has all the tools.

Perry stared down WR's, overthrew WR's, and threw a pick vs Savannah State... so let's not act like he's the truth yet!
Now if it was up to me I would start Perry starting at fsu but Williams is better!

KY my favorite blogger... you ain't never lied!
Posted by: WWIN | September 09, 2018 at 08:19 PM
I just want Richt to keep mixing it up for the next couple of scrub games. Keep playing all 4 QB's and keep messing with the o-line and whatnot's.
I told myself that I wouldn't start to hold Richt's feet to the fire until the 2019, 2020 seasons and I'm sticking to that.
Right now today I wouldn't pick UM to win the Coastal so they might as well stick to a heavy rotation of guys until they find the starters they want.
I had a good time yesterday. It seemed like a Dodgers game as everyone wasn't seated until halfway through the first quarter, then half the people were gone halfway through the forth quarter!
Feagles is a verb at The Rock. He got the loudest boo of the game. To me the kicking game is the biggest disappointment of the off-season. How can UM end up with a crappy punter AND place kicker in the same year when both positions should've been a Top 10 priority? It's really mind-boggling and it will cost us a game or more this season IMO.
Anyway it's gonna be a bumpy ride but I'll watch every minute of it!
Go 'canes!!
Posted by: Sarasota 'cane | September 09, 2018 at 08:23 PM
All four QBs stared down the WRs!! JW complete 1 of 2, the one completed pass to Ezzard was slightly behind him and that pass to Njoku was not the right read and over thrown.
Posted by: Wild-Cane | September 09, 2018 at 08:34 PM
#15 may become all we've been hoping for and more in 2019 or 2020, but right now he is not a starter QB quality for the U.

Big Facts WWIN. Lil Jon is definitely not crunk and his QB Coaching Skills leave much to be desired. Sadly Searles is infinitely worse SMH.

Interesting tweet by Manny Navarro:
“Mark Richt reaffirms Malik Rosier will be the team's starting quarterback vs. Toledo.“
🤔 Why would CMR have to “reaffirm” that?
