Canespace Prediction: Miami 34 - BC 13
Comments
I remember going to Cane games on Saturdays in the 70’s and my dad saying ‘where do you want to sit’?
Then going back Sunday and being a packed sardine for the Fins!
So all I’m going to say is ‘we are back!’
Back to the effing 70’s! Thanks Blake James and Mark Richt!
So let’s start dreaming - who is our next HC?
If butch was 5 to 10 years younger I’d say him;
Diaz has no experience;
We are torn on cristobol but he does have HC experience;
Matt Campbell - Iowa State?
Neal brown - Troy?
Someone asked the question of how many catches did Dee Wiggins have LN and how many times was he thrown to? Also, take a look at Quarterman our Mike LB and tell me how he played. Why is a freshman being targeted on so many plays only to come up with nothing? Our Mike LB the heart of the D looked like a rookie and someone who might have been disinterested in mixing it up with a 250lb back JS. The key to beating us is to have a power run game on O and a scrambling QB. On D stop the run and limit big plays. Put it on the OL and QB.
We knew what we were getting. We got a ship builder alright. Not championships but relationships. Why we hired an UGA reject in the first place shows the BoTs are out of touch. 14 year resume in the SEC lEast wasn't enough?
The wifey and I always wondered how he even lasted as long as he did at UGA. Time to find an up and comer. The UGA reject project is over. []_[]
P.S. Word on the streetz is Perry was pulled for changing plays not performance.
Our best option is to bring back Butch and let him coach for a few years while he grooms the up and coming assistant coach that he picks...i dont trust the egg heads.
In addition to that sideline solar system we had on the sideline, I'm surprised I didn't see our players sitting around a campfire roasting marshmallows telling scary stories.

Ha, well the school had their chance. We wanted him (alot of us, me included) and he wanted to come back. Instead they hired Georgia fired coach.
And Aerocane - Butch Davis is 66. Same age as Saban. Just a number really. The numbers to be concerned with are interceptions, time of possession, yards allowed, yards after catch and turnovers to name a few.

I agree on butch but when I said a while ago go Canes ripped me as he was too old. I will say this in agreement with Go - saben can do what he wants and will Hand pick his successor - butch at 66 will be used against us - for this reason, yes he is too old but if he came on with Mario or Diaz as his asst HC and coach in waiting - that would be my first and awesome choice
Tony - I agree
I said this earlier - I think he transfers and in my gut, and I hope I’m wrong I think lingard does as well. Richt should of been playing him from the LSU game forward. But because he is explosive, richt doesn’t like or use him; lol
Now he’s injured
If I were AD I would have hired Jedd Fisch last night and demoted Jon. I would give Jedd some power to decide the O staff and this job would basically be a HC try out. Manny would be given a raise also. Jedd would have clear instruction to implement as much spread O as possible. When this year is over, he can help in the job search for a new OL coach, and a new assistant to take Brown, Dugans, or Hartley's spot if he needs to. I'd prefer he finds someone that was a WR or RBs coach in a spread system. The other guy on my list is Mark Helfrich, but he's probably past us now. They both would have been called a week ago, but thats just me being proactive.
He still thinks that all we need to do is make a QB change and we'll be good instead of the logical... WE NEED A NEW HEAD COACH to be good again even though CMR has proven to him time and time again that "he ain't it chief"
Scrimmage the rest of the season, throw out the playbook, truly see who the best QB is under center.
If we don't bring in an OC next season then my money is staying home. That's the only way to control what's going on at a school that is historically tight with the purse.
I'm still groggy from the World Series last night. My intent was to watch the last two innings like a real Dodgers fan not knowing I was actually tuning in to a "double-header"!
Butch had about a 5 year window IMO and Richt will have used them all up by the time they start looking again.
If nothing changes we should form a tailgate group that shows up and watches the games on bigscreens in the parking lot, but never enter the stadium. Kind of a protest tailgate.

Perhaps a more effective protest would be to enter the stadium, and then turn your back.
After watching last night’s game, I am convinced that either PERRY was secretly suspended or CMR has moved on. With the new redshirt Rule, Maybe we will see Williams at the end of the season in last two games

The QB situation is already a complete cluster fvck, so who'll even notice and he can still save his redshirt.

That moment when you realize who the real loser in the stadium is.
Any wing joint anywhere
20 lemon pepper wings, seasoned cheese and bacon fries, a couple adult beverages, heat or air 20 or 30 tvs
For a 10th of going to watch a true classic trash edition of the Canes in person.
I remember back in the JJ days and before that we had a priest who consoled and counseled the players as he roamed the sideline. Maybe we can make Richt the guy who carries the bible like the old days and appoint Butch as the coach....
Remember this: It is NOT the fans job to fix this.
We all want to be part of the solution, I get that, but it is NOT our job to make coaching changes, decide who plays, or which plays are called.
That are the millionaires' jobs. Now, we do pay their salaries and can demand changes but whether they happen or not is well above the average fans' pay grade. If the suits can't fix it nobody will go to games. If nobody goes to games (I am skipping Duke) then the suits will be left no choice but to do something.
If things do not change I will not be buying season tickets next year or donating to the Hurricane Club. Speak with your wallet. In today's college athletics, that is what speaks loudest. Not some fan's opinion on some blog somewhere.
Big Windy, that is EXACTLY what I expect. Williams gets significant time in the last two games and the bowl game, without losing eligibility. Richt will spin it that he now knows the offense.
Mondays practice will be full of energy, lots of positive plays from both quarterbacks.
Running game picks up lot of traction,
Defense is flying around.
Lot of progress on special teams
Gold-hen-gurl-loser-for-life-against-the-primary-rival-dude was a 6th round fatso favor selection. He's losing control of the Fake Lame's talking points even worse than Tom lost control of his Typepad security layer on his blob.
The guy in front of the 6th round loser on the field in throwing for yardage in program history is the 7th round selection at the position, in what is now ancient program history. Stupid GD, slurp thirstier you useless sid-tard . . .
With JT, brevin, langham/cager (big guys), Pope, Hightower etc we have the tools; it’s hard to imagine a HC with richts experience has absolutely no clue as to use this talent consistently
Really sad
Richt is starting to remind me of the Dolphins when they fired Shula for JJ. I was one of the idiots who wanted to fire Shula thinking JJ was the answer, not knowing at the time that JJ just wanted to retire to Florida. I love JJ, but there's no denying he turned our beloved team over to Wanndstedt and promptly went fishing.
There doesn't seem to be any urgency with Richt and it doesn't have anything to do with his being a "good guy". "Good guys" can be "great coaches". See Don Shula, Tony Dungy, and many, many others from Pop Warner to the pros.
Richt seems burned-out, lazy, and lost with his game planning and play calling.
FSU looked very bad...they are a mess.
Yet i watch them, and we do the same stupid things; we are better but not that much better.
FL getting slapped right now...we will see if they implode.
Sad, but UCF and USF may be the best teams in the state.
Damn that sounds crazy...but maybe true.
we just cannot get out of our own way...or pick a coach that is really in touch with the game.
Last 2 games have really been bad football; I learn each game how not to coach.
I do a lot of different stuff on O and D....I try a lot of things....I want to surprise you confuse you keep you guessing...people think i am crazy i guess....but we win...that matters most...and my kids are passionate...they love to play!
I feel bad for the kids.....we have talent...but the staff in many areas does not know how to use it....and the kids seem miserable.
We have to do better!!!!!
I was at the USF game last week against UCONN. They're a fun local team to watch if you live near the stadium, but they would get smoked by UM, FSU, and UF. Zero pass rush coupled with zero run defense. UCF is gonna BBQ USF in this years iteration of the "War on I-4"!
I do concur that UCF is likely the best team in the state.
Hell it's a better time if the canes ARE playing...
LOL Sarasota....but you may be right.
UF may be the only team that could beat them...and I hate UF....but us and FSU are just terrible teams....we have looked so bad the last 2 weeks...and clemson would kill us....a laugher or crier....
There is nobody in the ACC that can get on the field with Clemson...I talk to Clelin Ferrell weekly...he played for me....they just have great talent....he brought his DL guys home this summer and they came to our training and workouts...those kids are monsters yet very smart...they love playing for Dabo and Clemson... we do not want to play them...let them beat somebody elses azz....we have had 3 this year do not need no more......
Your contort other people's statements, completely make up stats like good offense for 4 of 13 games and failing passing grades, then talk down to us like we're dumb.
No one said the offense was clicking. But it got better as the season progressed. It was as obvious as the wins they kept getting.
Since the day Kaaya left you argued non stop about how Malik was better than him. Now you've shifted and squirmed to God knows what position.
All I said is an average QB like Kaaya made even Richt's offense good enough to score what they needed to in order beat two teams like the ones we just lost to. He never turned the ball over, ever, and generally hit guys when they were open. ncluding a pick six every start.
That's all we needed to get out of Charlottsville and Boston witht Ws.
Saying a guy like Lawrence wouldn't make this offense substantially better is just stupid and ignorant so please, give it a break.
Alright now Solar asked us not to turn on each other today and I concur. Butch, Kaaya, JJ, etc. are gone. Tip your hat if you see them out. They all gave us their all regardless of their shortcomings.
Posted by: Go Canes!! | October 27, 2018 at 05:17 PM
All you need to say is richt needs to go... don't even bring up Kaaya... he's long gone... how about that? What the hell does Kaaya have to do with now besides the fact that you wanna make up excuses for richt???

Our offense with richt and Lawrence would be better than it is now but still suck
Clemson’s offense is Relentless and aggressive
Up tempo and mismatches - I heard that a bunch today - something richt has no clue about

Trevor Lawrence makes Rosier wash his underwear after banging his gf all night.

Brad Kaaya, a 7th round talent put up good enough numbers in this same offense for us to be unbeaten or easily 7-1 at this point
Thai kid will be the first pick of the draft in two years and would have lit up BC for 30+ last night.
Posted by: Go Canes!! | October 27, 2018 at 03:06 PM
Big Windy, that is EXACTLY what I expect. Williams gets significant time in the last two games and the bowl game, without losing eligibility. Richt will spin it that he now knows the offense.
Posted by: TonyCane | October 27, 2018 at 03:07 PM
Mondays practice will be full of energy, lots of positive plays from both quarterbacks.
Running game picks up lot of traction,
Defense is flying around.
Lot of progress on special teams
Wash rinse repeat

Go - wrong again - then we lost like 3 or 4 in a row with the same qb and offense
You totally missed my point but go ahead and love on richt and kayaa
Posted by: AeroCane | October 27, 2018 at 03:16 PM
GD is sid-tarding it up again as usual.
Stupid GD, slurp thirstier you useless sid-tard . . .

I will say this for Kaaya,
Jeff Thomas would make All American, and lead the ACC in receiving.
Posted by: canespace | October 27, 2018 at 03:20 PM
With JT, brevin, langham/cager (big guys), Pope, Hightower etc we have the tools; it’s hard to imagine a HC with richts experience has absolutely no clue as to use this talent consistently
Really sad

The offense was better with Kaaya then it is now.
As a matter of fact, the offense has regressed every season since Kaaya left

1. True
2. False... the offense with Kaaya was good for 4 games out of 13
3. Doesn't matter now... he's gone!

Perhaps a more effective protest would be to enter the stadium, and then turn your back.

My vote is to walk out while the offense is on the field and come back in for the defense
Posted by: KYcane | October 27, 2018 at 03:59 PM

Posted by: Sarasota 'cane | October 27, 2018 at 04:15 PM
By the way you can get a $320 Club Seat with Club access for $20-$40 for USF games. It's a good time if the canes aren't playing.
Hell it's a better time if the canes ARE playing...
Posted by: Sarasota 'cane | October 27, 2018 at 04:18 PM
Posted by: VA Cane | October 27, 2018 at 04:44 PM
Clemson's on another level and has already punched their ticket to the Playoffs I believe. I think Bama is a lock, with Michigan knocking as well.
Hopefully they'll let UCF in this year if they win out.
Posted by: Sarasota 'cane | October 27, 2018 at 04:49 PM
I take back my "smoked" statement. USF vs UM or FSU would be a pick 'em.
Posted by: Sarasota 'cane | October 27, 2018 at 04:59 PM
the FL punter is killer.....just nailed a 70 yarder....we get what 31 yarders.....take both the punters schollys away send them home........

Posted by: Go Canes!! | October 27, 2018 at 05:17 PM
/\/\/\/\/\/
Malik is always a multi inti QB including a pick six every start.
