We make walking and chewing gum look hard.

I have said time and time again on here that if you watch an entire Saturday of college football and then watch the Canes play it looks like a completely different sport.

It is not that complicated.

LOL, Joey and I had this conversation during the FSU game.

Happy Birthday Raize!

BTW - I like all the Fisch talk on the other blog, but is he even interested - LOL

Hopefully The Tennis teams will roll out theiR spRing schedules soon lol.

HAVE NO IDEA IF HE IS INTERESTED BUT...

Fisch got his break in coaching when he was named a graduate assistant coach for the Florida Gators football team under Spurrier from 1999-2000. During this time, he earned his master's degree in sports management.

Pro and college coaching career
After Florida, Fisch moved on to the NFL's Houston Texans, where he served as Assistant to the Head Coach (Dom Capers) from 2001-2003. Fisch then moved to the Baltimore Ravens under head coach Brian Billick, where he first served as a general offensive assistant for the 2004 season before being named assistant quarterbacks coach and assistant wide receivers coach for the 2005-2007 seasons. Fisch served as the Denver Broncos wide receivers coach under Mike Shanahan in 2008.

He returned to the college game in 2009, serving a single season as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Minnesota Golden Gophers football team under head coach Tim Brewster. Fisch then returned to the NFL, serving a single season as quarterbacks coach for the Seattle Seahawks in Pete Carroll's first year with the team. Then it was back to the NCAA, where he served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Miami Hurricanes football team under Al Golden from 2011-2012. Fisch then returned to the NFL once more, as the offensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars for the 2013 and 2014 seasons.[6] He was terminated from the Jaguars on December 30, 2014.[7]

On January 9, 2015, Fisch was hired by the Michigan Wolverines to serve as the quarterbacks coach, wide receivers coach, and passing game coordinator.[8] Fisch stated that he was drawn to a job at Michigan despite not having ties to incoming head coach Jim Harbaugh, the University, or the area.[9] However, he does have a long-standing coaching relationship with Vic Fangio, Harbaugh's defensive coordinator for four years with the San Francisco 49ers and one year with Stanford.[10]

On January 5, 2017, Fisch was hired by the UCLA Bruins as the team's offensive coordinator.[11][12]

On November 19, 2017, Fisch was named head coach at UCLA for the remainder of the 2017 season after the firing of Jim L. Mora. With the Bruins at 5-6, Fisch guided the team to bowl eligibility, as they earned a 30-27 win over the likewise 5-6 California Golden Bears.

As interim head coach, UCLA lost to Kansas State by a final score of 35–17 in the Cactus Bowl in Phoenix, Arizona, on December 26, 2017.

On January 24, 2018, the Los Angeles Rams added Fisch to their deep group of offensive coaches, when they hired former UCLA offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch as a senior offensive assistant. Fisch operates as the Rams' clock-management specialist.[13]

Per twitter - "Richt believes N'Kosi Perry has developed enough to play in a game when it counts. Feels Malik Rosier gives canes the best chance to win as a starter".

Either Perry really screwed up or CMR landed on his head and not feet the last time he took a dive from the high platform.

There is more to this Perry thing that we don't know about. It's the same thing about Richards "knee"!

Ah, GD tries to keep the narrative on sid-tard talking points rails, the more things chinge, the more they stay the same:

"Me too Epi.

We have such a good young talented squad, the thought of this staff failing and having to start over makes me ill.

We've had a few minutes of lapses in the last two games, but the overall product has looked absolutely dominant at times.

If this staff can get this team to play with that kind of focus and avoid self inflicted mistakes, we can and will have a hell of a season.

There is no doubt this can be a springboard to a great resurgence if that happens, because the 16 class is LOADED.

A large slurping sound was heard that day, and Fake Lame's willingness to lie about anything for any reason grew by three sizes . . .

Dude on a Pale Horse

I am still supporting MR going into next season IF and only if he loses no more than 1 more game AND hires a smart OC, not a yes man.

Unfortunately I think The U is behind him 100% no matter what happens this year, even if we miss out on a bowl. I dont think we will miss out on a bowl, Im just saying how much I believe Miami supports him. Miami admin are very incompetent people when it comes to football. They allow coaches to make glaring mistakes, like bad hires. For example, Randy Shannon should have had an all star cast around him, and Miami should have fired Mark D'Onofrio, but alas, Miami always gives a HC enough rope to hang themselves. IMO, this is terrible management. A HC failure is the worst thing that can happen to your program outside of real sanctions, you have to ensure that these highly paid HCs do not run your program off the rails. The only way that MR could possibly maintain play calling at this point, is winning out with an O that looks great, he has zero margin for error now.

Gin & Tonic

How much of the o-line struggling to make holes on running plays stem from the RPO? If the line doesn't know if it going to be a run or a pass, the blocker has to stay around the line of scrimmage and there is no blocking of linebackers or safeties downfield.

In the National Football League, if an offensive lineman advances a single yard toward the defense on a passing play before the ball is released, he will be flagged as an ineligible receiver downfield.

In college football, linemen can advance three yards on passing plays before drawing a flag. That cushion helps an offense disguise the RPO and allots time to set up a wider array of passes, including midfield slants.

When a linebacker sees a lineman charging directly at him, his instincts assume the offense is running. But as soon as he reacts to fill a rushing lane, a pass sails over his head.

Dude on a Pale Horse

No one expects Ingraham to pick Miami now. Well that was a fun 6 months and a terrible 48 hours, lol. This kid never wanted Miami, another Ft. Lauderdale mercenary.

SOUP

Miami has lost to LSU (7-1) and UVA (5-2) who have a combined record of 12-3.

Miami has beaten Savannah St (1-5), Toledo (3-4), FIU (5-2), UNC (1-5) and FSU (4-3) who have a combined record of 14-19.

The remaining schedule has Boston College (5-2), Duke (5-2), GT (3-4), VT (4-2) and Pitt (3-4) who have a combined record of 20-14.

Miami will be favored in all of their remaining games with GT and Pitt appearing the easiest games (on paper) and BC, VT and Duke appear to be the hardest games remaining.

What are your predictions?

Terrance Sullivan

Well we are not favored against BC. We are a 3 point underdog to them. I would imagine we will be a underdog to VT as well. I think we will be favored against Duke, GT, and Pitt.

Terrance Sullivan

Soup I will say 3-2 honestly. I will pray for 4-1 or even better 5-0 but I can not in good fait say that at this point we will hopefully get to the Belk Bowl in Charlotte on Saturday Decemeber 29th on ABC Hope I am wrong and we can finish 4-1 or 5-0. I also hope we do not melt down like we did in 2014.

Go Canes!!

Think the holy trinity will cost us one more game, maybe two.

Soup...I agree and have said this in the past as well. Some (bad) teams make scoring a touchdown or getting a 3 and out look effortless. I hold my breath every defensive play cause the canes seem to love that new targeting penalty or pass interference or the boneheaded personal foul. On offensive it seems like everyone has cement in their shoes. These canes (and some past canes teams) are not fun to watch.

Yup I agree.

I know that RCCF says a Canes fan should NEVER predict a loss but the confidence is shaky. Just like a great golfer once you lose it it takes a long time to get it back. Just ask Tiger Woods.

Now that's gonna leave a "Mark".

U see what I did there?

Just look at the UM defense and the "Turnover Chain". That is fun. Running the ball with Homer right into 9 in the box? Not so much.

HUGE HUGE line movement. #Canes now 2.5 point FAVORITES on vegas insider
3 point favorites on BetOnline

Thanks Ralph, I never saw any under dog line for Miami by the time I looked at them last night so that tells me most likely somebody knew AJ Dillon's ankle is still wrecked even after four weeks of rest and he won't be effective if available, but Glines is a different type of threat in the passing game if they can exploit a linebacker match up with him anyway.

A couple of guys who had no business here.

A couple of guys the jury is still out on.

A guy who did develop.

It his job to coach them up

BigWindyCane

Canes are now a -4.0 favorite against BC.

BigWindyCane

14 players named as Thorpe Award semifinalists, and two are Canes:
CB Michael Jackson and S Jaquan Johnson. DB-U - the only college football team with two Thorpe Award semifinalists.

Dude on a Pale Horse

Miami has lost five 2020 commits.

BigWindyCane

The news about the Thorpe Award semifinalists for two Canes seniors should help on the recruiting trail.

VA Cane

I like Rosier as a person...he is a very average QB...lots of luck last year not good QB play. The line makes it worse for him....but he cannot pass at all.
We may be favored in several games, but BC will be chilly and VT outright cold.
We cannot play in cold weather we fold up like the lawn chairs you put away in Oct.
We are 25 in coaches poll...about right..that is a gift.
Here we are again the romance is over and nothing has really changed like we thought it would.
Clap Onion AlPa flashbacks...like being on LSD...but worse after some hope.
Just keep playing 1 game at a time all i know!

Nah cuz it's not helping with the wins and losses

BigWindyCane

What Perry did in posting that video is off-the-field behavior that can be forgiven. Perry is obviously very immature, but I can understand why CMR wouldn’t punish Perry for the video. But what DT Odenigbo did at the end of the Virginia game was something CMR should punish because it cost the Canes the game and a possible shot at the CF Playoffs. I have rarely seen anything so idiotic at the end of a close and important college football game.

BigWindyCane

Injuries to both Richards and now Lingard? Very unfortunate. Two critical injuries to players capable of producing very big plays on offense.

Nah we need self-made players that don't require coaching

Herbieibis

It don't matter what the line is, we suck playing on the road and that is our 5th biggest problem, aside from our punting woes, our sorry offensive line, our inability to hit open WR'S and the sorry ass play calling. The offense is nothing but a goose laying turd.
Even if we get an OC next year and can Searles, u can't have but 10 coaches (paid) on staff, I believe.

mi@mic@ne

Our best chance to win is with Perry....never should have taken him out....on another note,,Rich played qb and is too sensitive about that position ....on another note....smallwood scored last weekend..
