Great coaches (players too) usually do have a reputation of classy or decent man because they focus on winning and wining only. For the same reason, they do not bother to talk about details of the game either. M. Richt enjoys talking about his thinking on line formation, route running, etc. He always wanted to show that he has the football knowledge, which matters little in winning a game. But his biggest problem is the decision making. His hire of unqualified son as the QB coach sets a low standard for his coaching staffs. How can you demand good results from any staff when you got the least qualified personnel on the most important position?

I really do not believe M. Richt has the right judgement needed to sack himself from the laughable play calling and his son from coaching staff. Thus, it is almost certain that he will end up as a failure at Miami, i.e., no ships. If Blake James cannot see what a casual fan can, then he lacks good judgement too.

I mean "usually do not"

As I recall we wanted Butch Or Leach ..oh well what do we know....

mi@mic@ne

Thats right Leach was hanging out with Jimmy in the keys when we wanted James to give him a call,...so many opportunities

mi@mic@ne

Instead they pick Goldilox....

mi@mic@ne

could you imagine having leach running our offense with the defense we have now...geeezzz

Those were my #1 and #2 guys as well. Richt was #3 on my list. Leach would've killed it down here.

This is why we play the games. Rankings and pundits don’t win games, players do!

SOUP

I am tired.

Go Canes!!

Bama had not one, not two, but THREE 4 or 5 star QBs transfer after losing the QB battle to Jalen Hurts.

The same Jalen Hurts who struggled to complete a pass thrown more than 10 yards past the line of scrimmage his entire career and was benched in the NC game for ineffectiveness.

That's three elite guys that didn't amount to anything, who got beat out by a below average passer, despite having every possible advantage a QB can have.

Can anyone out there seriously tell me they didn't dumb down the offense for Hurts the last two seasons compared to what they do with Tua??

Same HC, same OC, same QB coach. Three transfers and one starter who never got better later they struck gold with a kid who was a game changing, trancendent player from the first play he took the field.

I've been critical of CMRs play calling on here many times. But it's not just him and using Perry as the sole barometer of his ability to develop a kid is tough to do, especially when there appear to be off the field maturity and dedication issues with him.

Let's get some perspective. Kids like Tua, Lawrence and that beast at OU were going to thrive ANYWHERE they played, including here. Saying CMRs offense would have stunted their development or they would be average here is just digging your heels in to maintain a narrative.

He has his shortcomings, there is no doubt about that. But there is more to it than that.

WWIN

Corch Richt can solve that problem quick just like Saban did... PLAY WILLIAMS!!!

It's CMR not the players... he had no reason to take Perry out the game

Terrance Sullivan

Preach WWIN!

Go Canes!!

https://247sports.com/Player/Tua-Tagovailoa-77451/

TT was a 5 star, #1 rated dual threat QB in the country. He will be a three and done at Bama and will be a top NFL draft pick.

All of a sudden saying Wiliams is the solution just because Tua was is grasping at straws.

Dude on a Pale Horse

Did Mike Leach have a stroke? He talks like someone that has.

Dude on a Pale Horse

That OD vs WKU game was the craziest ending I have ever seen.

Solarcane

Every since Dorsey left, our salvation is always play the guy behind the next starter. It has never worked yet.

Until we get an excellent qb coach or an oc that designs the plays around the quarterbacks strengths and not what his scheme calls for in certain down and distances it wont matter how many 4 star quarter backs waste their playing time here.

We will be 9 or 10 wins and beat maybe 3 power 5 teams a season, maybe.

Diaz will get scooped up or become a gead coach sooner or later and we will still be talking about Kenny Dorsey.

Solarcane

Go Canes!!

Last three years:

Last three years:

Kirby Smart 27-8
Tom Herman 22-11
Justin Fuente 24-10
James Franklin 27-7
Wille Taggart 21-10
Mark Dantonio 17-15
Dan Mullen 20-12
Brian Kelly 21-11
Jim Harbaugh 25-9
Chris Peterson 28-7
Jimbo Fisher 20-11
Paul Chyrst 29-6

AeroCane

So richt sends his son and Searels to see our most important recruit, Evan Neal, 5 star left tackle, rather than go himself and take his best recruiter Hartley; very interesting
If I’m gambling, I’m betting there’s a very slim chance we get him and again lose a top notch talent that could potentially start from day 1

Is Mark Richt making same mistakes with Miami Hurricanes as at UGA?
by Alan Rubenstein

Canes Warning discussed earlier this week if Miami Hurricanes Defensive Coordinator Manny Diaz would make a better Head Coach than Richt. Diaz is in his 14th season as a Defensive Coordinator at the FBS level and is likely on the verge of becoming a Head Coach.

Canes Warning spoke to Allistair Penny the Expert for FanSided’s Georgia site Dawn of the Dawg earlier this week to give us his insight on Richt’s tenure at Georgia. Penny reiterated the criticisms of Richt not being able to elevate his program to the top of college football.

“We won 9-10 games every year and then got destroyed whenever we played an elite team and also lost one game we shouldn’t every season. That’s the Mark Richt experience. It’s awesome for 95% of schools, but if you want to challenge for the CFP, he’s not the guy.

He’s an awesome guy. I can’t stress that enough. Everyone in Athens loves him. And he’ll never let anything bad happen to the program like you’ve seen under some other coaches. He’s so genuine and such a great guy is why he lasted 15 years with us.

He transformed our program and made us relevant again. But eventually, it became obvious that he was never going to be able to push us over the top to being a perennial powerhouse and that is what the fans here demanded.

Fast forward three years and life under Kirby is very different…I just don’t know how he’s going to beat (Clemson Head Coach) Dabo (Swinney) and get you that ACC crown. He could never beat (Former Florida and current Ohio State Head Coach) Urban (Meyer) or (Alabama Head Coach Nick) Saban here and that’s the thing.

He’s better than 98% of coaches out there, but when it comes to the elite, he’s just not quite there

roachcane77

Man, if CMR's offense hadn't sh!t the bed at UVA, we'd be in the discussion today... :(

SOUP

Maybe if Mark Richt had put The U first, and not his unqualified son, then perhaps Miami would be in a position where the plays didnt have to be dumbed down? The guy has 4 scholarship players under his management and none of them are able to function in this offense? If this playbook is being dumbed down, then it falls on MR's nepotism.

I love college football. My buddy sent me this a few minutes ago.

Everybody suck!!!

OHIO STATE FOOTBALL FORUM

This team under Urban the past 4 years post Naty!

2015 - Lost to Michigan State @ home with the most talented team in college football. Fucked up the back and forth between JT and Cardale and made them both suck. Zeke lashed out for being underutilized in a rainy game as we watched our QBs trying to win.

2016 - Lost @ Penn State and went on to be absolutely embarrassed by Clemson postseason. Inept offense that couldn't do ANYTHING

2017 - Lost @ Iowa with an embarrassing loss. Missed playoffs. Same bullshit offense lead by JT who overachieved his entire career in stats, and not in wins.

2018 - Lost @ Purdue with another embarrassing. Will miss playoffs yet again. Lackluster passing game, ZERO run game, the worst defense at OSU I've witnessed in the past 5 years.

One year, ok. Two years, ok. Three years and I'm upset. Four years in a row and I've had enough and I'm furious.
