It is over.
Yes, it is finally and officially over.
The 2018 college football season is over for your Miami Hurricanes.
The fat lady has sung and all that is left is the crying among UM fans.
With yet another embarrassing loss to an ACC opponent on the road, Mark Richt and company have sunken once again to new lows when an opportunity to right the ship presented itself in the game against Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
This ship has been taking on water for a while, but is now run aground and has sunken to the bottom of the abyss. The salvage crews will be out in the morning to recover what is left of the wreckage of the churning hunk of burning junk.
Richt is not right; he is simply wrong.
His once hopeful song has faded away like so many others over his first three years of trying to write a ballad worthy of the Miami Hurricanes glorious past.
There is no more hope or joy or vision for the future other than more of the same old misery we have endured over the last three regimes.
The sooner it ends the less painful the breakup will be. Trust me.
End it now or carry the burning torch of pain with you for the next three years like the last guy did. The misery and malfeasance now carry on like a contagion into our DNA from our once lofty perch among college football greats.
It seems like the pain will never end for the Miami Hurricanes football team.
It’s ugly.

And getting uglier.

It’s official. Miami is a basketball school.

Blake still waiting to "see how this plays out."

Her fat azz has been singing. When Aretha left, so did we.

Maybe we lose the game to VA keeping Kosi in there, but I think we bounce back against BC & Duke, perhaps we beat GT as things are starting to click better and we are in a nice spot for the ACC CG. Id be feeling confident going on the road to VT and eeking out a win, and finally punishing Pitt. Miami imo would be 10-2 going into the game with Clemson. Stick with your QB.
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | November 11, 2018 at 12:56 AM
This GT game was Perry finishing the UVA game. Now we can see what he does next against VT.

TD I’ve read so much unconfirmed stuff about Perry off the field I honestly don’t know what to think about why he hasn’t been in there.
The kid had a really nice game today imo. Hopefully he can build from there and give us a reason to watch.
Cause good lord the turnovers, predictable play calling, embarrassing o line play and penalties make watching games impossible to stomach.
Posted by: Go Canes!! | November 11, 2018 at 01:07 AM
I had a better time in the rain at Animal Kingdom that day

If we had an offense, we would be interested.

Perry going forward is our only option.
Watching the Richt conference when they brought up the OL and it penalties and its play, Richt said, "I'm not gonna tell yall how I really feel about that." Me reading too much into it: Stacey Searels is the reason my offense isnt working. This also tells me at least Searels is gone and we'll be looking for a new coach. I highly recommend Eric Wolford from S. Carolina. I watched his team today create very clean pockets, and his guys moved the DL. After this loss, I dont think Richt has the option to call his plays next year. I think Thomas Brown or Jon Richt could take the L for the new OC. Lastly, he knows Hartley isnt the man for ST, that could cost him his job, but he's super valuable as a recruiter.

Time to give Williams a shot!

Last night's sunset was beautiful. Hope today's' sunrise is the same because what happened last night in Atlanta was definitely not something to behold.
Posted by: Old Skool | November 11, 2018 at 05:09 AM
Under Richt's leadership, we've learned the team's blood type: O negative. Now who's going to apply the tourniquet?
Posted by: Old Skool | November 11, 2018 at 06:31 AM
The WHOLE country... (or anyone who happened to tune in to that clusterf#¢k) watched a well coached team vs. a poorly coached team.
Players did not execute. Players play in games how they are prepared in practice. We are not preparing our players properly.
The fat lady is wrapping up her part...

Searels has to be gone, like today, if there's going to be any chance of having a halfway decent OL recruiting class this year.
Think the new December signing period has changed when HCs have to fire and replace guys.

We were ranked #8 and now we aren’t even going to make a bowl game. We suuuuuuuuuck.
Posted by: BEERicane | November 11, 2018 at 08:54 AM
No matter how you slice it, the reality is that Richt has proven to be a massive downgrade compared to Golden. He should be embarrassed AF. Richt is the guy who officially killed off Miami football. It’s over. We play in the garbage half of a garbage conference and can’t score any damn points. Honestly, I think right now there are probably some decent D3 teams that would give us problems. It’s that bad. We have the single worst offense in the nation and there is no arguing it’s not. THE WORST. Our special teams are even worse than that...
Posted by: BEERicane | November 11, 2018 at 09:02 AM
Lol maybe FSU vs Miami can rematch in Orlando on December 8 after the Army vs Navy Game in the We Suck Piss Poor Bowl on those Football Practice Fields next to Camping World Stadium lol.
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | November 11, 2018 at 09:20 AM
I don't know when or why it happened, but Richt has lost this team some time ago.
The Canes now play sloppy (turnovers), undisciplined (penalties) and uninterested (taking plays off).
In a situation like that, only a total makeover of the coaching staff will help.

Everyone sees it - we’ve seen it since last year’s pitt game - but why doesn’t the bot and bj see this is beyond me

Don't be surprised if CMR resigns at the end of the season, soon after our sixth consecutive loss.

Posted by: WWIN | November 11, 2018 at 02:23 AM
Yes, definitely! Why not?
We ought to use the remaining two games (albeit likely losses) as "double secret" preseason practice for 2019.
P.S. Incidentally WWIN, how's that turnover chain working for U these days? Are we getting the top recruits? Are we getting lots wins against D-1 teams? Are we even getting lots of turnovers? Are we getting ANYTHING other than embarrassed?

What's good Legion/Canespace? First, Happy Veterans Day to my fellow veterans everywhere. Second, it is time for a massive overhaul of this coaching staff and a complete purge of this roster (Coaches: J Richt, Searles, Hartley, players: Feagles, Spicer, Knowles, G. Brown, Hillery, Milo, Martin, Polendey, etc. Third, there need to be an influx of JC players on the roster for next year. Fourth, some players should be asked to change positions for the sake of having more explosive players on the field (i.e. Travis Hormer possibly moving to corner, etc.). Last, U need to stop being cheap and being to fill their roster with scholarship players and just sit on scholarships. Just my take, enjoy your day Veterans Day!

There is disconnect among the team. He has lost them. I agree 100%

Shout out to Alex D!
Nemo - the turnover Chain does not bother me. It was meant to motivate the defense and it does that. The media blew it out of proportion. The defense has its flaws but it is not the reason we are where we are. Blake James needs to wake up and do his job and lock up Diaz or get fired.
What an ish show we have been seeing. Shat football and empanadas for everyone LOL.
Belated Happy Veterans Day to those who have and are serving. Enjoy your Sunday!

I nominate His Majesty The Dude on High as AD

What, everybody isn't on the edge of their seat today to read the next Fake Lames talking point report with GD and his tl;dr blob sharts about some underage teenage boy's jock he's huffing for the rest of the year harder than he gurgles the over-promoted ticket distributor in the AD office's choad? Well, that counts as progress then!
Anybody just deluded enough to actually pay to travel to see this tale of two teams going in opposite directions has my sympathy. The good news is this next game is a tale of two shitty teams going in the same direction, down the drain with the rest of the attempted football playing nuggets in a circle. Special teams finally got to hand away their third loss this season, has the corch in charge of not doing that with that third of the game been sent out of the football office in shame after being fired yet? Hahahahahahaha, just kidding we all know there's an excuse being crafted right now to deflect from the thief on the payroll instead of action being taken to correct the problem! That's GD's boo for you . . .

He doesn't see the field good at all! I said that when he played the first time and nothing has changed. He is missing wide open receivers.

It is obvious that the Canes weren’t very good this season. But remember ND lost 8 games two seasons ago, and ND was smoked last season. Ian Book looked horrible in his play last season at the Rock. ND fans weren’t too happy with Kelly, and there were calls for his ouster.
HC Brian Kelly made a few changes on his staff, the players have been developed and now two years removed from an 8-loss season, Brian Kelly is a hero.
CMR will have to make some offensive coaching staff changes, and he needs to recruit more talent. CMR also need to stop playing favoritism to certain players, and play the best people. At WR, there are two many drops, poor routes and stupid penalties. At RB, Cam Davis showed us that he could be the best RB on the team (with Lingard out).
Deejay, Cager and Mahoney should play a lot less this season because their backups are better. I like Jordan, but he didn’t play well. I wonder if by next season, Mallory will be the true playmaker at TE because he showed me something last night with his size, speed and agility.

So much for TS knowing what a one score margin of victory implies regarding execution versus preparation. Actually, TS Mike Bradley never did, so nothing was lost by him after all except some sleep on the roach motel floor!
"Posted by: WWIN | November 11, 2018 at 11:38 AM"
Can't make award winning omelettes from breaking gold-hen eggs. But you can get a tidy bowl date by locking the doors and opening up with dual wield on a garbage load of chokies just like everybody else has this season! Their special teams are just as putrid as Miami's so finally it's only a push there instead of the reason why UM will lose 75% of the time.
