It is over.
Yes, it is finally and officially over.
The 2018 college football season is over for your Miami Hurricanes.
The fat lady has sung and all that is left is the crying among UM fans.
With yet another embarrassing loss to an ACC opponent on the road, Mark Richt and company have sunken once again to new lows when an opportunity to right the ship presented itself in the game against Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
This ship has been taking on water for a while, but is now run aground and has sunken to the bottom of the abyss. The salvage crews will be out in the morning to recover what is left of the wreckage of the churning hunk of burning junk.
Richt is not right; he is simply wrong.
His once hopeful song has faded away like so many others over his first three years of trying to write a ballad worthy of the Miami Hurricanes glorious past.
There is no more hope or joy or vision for the future other than more of the same old misery we have endured over the last three regimes.
The sooner it ends the less painful the breakup will be. Trust me.
End it now or carry the burning torch of pain with you for the next three years like the last guy did. The misery and malfeasance now carry on like a contagion into our DNA from our once lofty perch among college football greats.
It seems like the pain will never end for the Miami Hurricanes football team.
and unpredictable with smart humor.
The championship coach I played for was ALOT like this.

TS Mike Bradley needs a new screen name to try and hide his moronic ass when I say going into the game GT is about four points better at home unless teams play up or down and they end up winning by a whopping six. Yes that extra safety difference in the final margin once toe met leather sure is as embarrassing to me as your fatso slurp filled posting history on here and your sleeping at daddy's feet in the bedbug nest well into 'adulthood.' Smart TS there.

It was dead as a doorknob when they "cool dad'ed" it into the grave in record time by handing out the redesign against the FBS cupcake payout scrimmage once they got done ruining the season by no showing the opener this year. Perry's next social media post should be him introducing the captains on the defense to burn one in an empty oil bin, say it's back winning football games without shiny objects distracting them, then don't bust it out until somebody gets a TO in the finals of the playoffs. So at this current rate, it'll never be seen again!
WWIN, that avatar, Halloween was last month!

All the weak ass bug insults in the world won’t make your boy Richt a decent oc.
It won’t make junior a real qbc.
Neither will it make any of the shit show units fundamentally sound at all.
But hey, at least you are here to tell us none of the qbs can read a defense. Didn’t even need a magnifying glass or Watson to figure that out, Sherlock.
Good news is, even good coaches have flushed seasons down the toilet. Richt sent this one down the sewer praying Malik would figure out how to hit 30 yard fly patterns. If that ain’t idiotic, I don’t know what is.
But Dabo and Kelly saved their asses with some top notch adjustments to the staff.
Your crush could potentially do the same. Only time will tell.
But if he shows back up in 2019 with the Richt and Son bargain basement offense, panicking when his young qb hits a rough patch, all that Richt juice you been guzzling will all be for naught.

Leach definitely should be considered, especially if its a Leach/Diaz combo. Not saying Miami wins a title, but it wins the Coastal in year 2 & 3 & 4 I think. Maybe Miami catches Clemson slipping and then all bets are off. I cant stress this enough, Mark Richt has failed beyond comprehension, firing him should be on the table. His negligence in not hiring an OC can not be understated.

Another de commitment 2019 CB Demarius Good from Lake Brantley. The Canes now only have 16 commits in the 2019 recruiting class. If the Canes can’t start winning games, This could be one of the worst recruiting classes in a while

I think Florida guys would respond to his demeanor. He is a hard ass that will drop a flurry of f bombs when needed, but can also be a little lighter

No doubt!

You hire Leach right now, you're going 10-2 next year, possibly 11-1. We have the talent on this team! Leach made every QB he's coached look like studs!
Posted by: thirstybuzzardcane | November 11, 2018 at 07:07 PM
Richt is way too laid back for the fast pace that is needed to bring back that swagger ....nothing personal ...we cant play guys who are not good enough to be in the program...if you have a freshman who is better ...then the other guy is not good enough to see the field....especially at the qb position...got to weed out the players who are not good enough

In response to criticism of his offensive concepts and play calling, CMR said that this offense has been working for him for 30 years.
However, CIS and ESPN posted a stat that CMR has had only ONE top twenty offense in 18 years! Apparently, his offense hasn’t worked that well. A new OC and maybe a few more offensive staff changes are a must.

Kosar and Dorsey both were both red shirt freshman's who took over immediately ....both came in because the older qbs were not good enough

its the bots fault for not looking at his record and only focusing on his philanthropy and life skills...football is about stats and winning.
Posted by: mi@mic@ne | November 11, 2018 at 07:28 PM
He’s having a good season but I have zero desire to hire Leach.
After six years at Washington State he had a .495 winning percentage.
He’s never won 10 games there. He got blown out in their last two bowls 42-17 by a terrible Michigan offense last year and 17-12 to Minnesota the year before.
What has he done there to deserve our HC gig again?
Don’t want to hear about what he’d do with S Florida athletes. Peterson has managed to load up his roster with NFL caliber guys in the same state. Why hasn’t he gotten them?
Hard pass.
In a game with Lincoln Rileys and Matt Campbell, why commit to a guy who’s been nothing but a side show “genius”.
We’re better than that.

The only two coaches who left the cupboard full for the Canes are JJ and Butch...the two coaches who were given the keys to the Rolls and left us empty were Erickson and Clappy ..we need a guy like Butch who can recruit..a guy who has that nastiness the attracts the miami guys

Fair point. We could get any number of Leach-like offensive coaches to HC, and much younger.

Machome's came from a coach that was part of the Leach coaching tree. Some other players off the top of my head from Texas Tech....Crabtree, Amedola, Wes Welker, Jakeem Grant.
Posted by: thirstybuzzardcane | November 11, 2018 at 07:51 PM
I would take some of Leach's proteges in a heart beat over Richt. The more I search about Leach, the more I come impressed
Posted by: thirstybuzzardcane | November 11, 2018 at 07:54 PM
Like I said, could you imagine him with that Broward and Dade county athletes!
"Mike Leach didn’t fight hard to recruit at Texas Tech and has never made it a major component of his formula for success, which is perhaps a part of the reason why some of his successors have had more success. Leach has always had better things to do (in his estimation) than try to ingratiate himself with teenage boys and their families. Like learning about history or drawing up a new way to run a passing concept on a diner napkin."

I want to take a shot at this one.
Over Butch, nothing. But... IMO there was reason to believe he could be decent at Miami, enough to stack blue chips and perhaps get us over the hump, or at least make it so the Coastal would be a 2 horse race, us and sometimes VT. I always thought he'd at least be the guy that stocked the cupboard for the next guy, won 9 to 10 games every year and won bowl games every other year. But I can see now that I was wrong about his motivation. Seems clear to me now that he should have retired, or taken a job at the HS level (like IMG) so he could call plays and groom young men, hanging out with his family. He's not a serious enough person to put Miami first. In my defense, I said from the get go (86 & I both did as a matter of fact) that Richt should not call plays. I knew it was a huge mistake. Also I didnt like him hiring his son, although you have to give these guys the benefit of the doubt. IMO, Richt should have to win the next 2 games to keep his job, period. No hiring of an OC should save him if we go 6-6 or 5-7. His pride cost us hiring Mark Helfrich, a program changing OC. He cant follow that up with 6-6, it just proves he puts his feelings ahead of our 18-23 year old kids and their futures. I couldn't have that as the AD.
Posted by: His Majesty The Dude on High | November 11, 2018 at 09:35 PM
Say it ain't so another 3 star decommit. No big loss. Here again, with all the talent in The state, who play CB, why recruit a kid that plays offense only and has rarely played the DB position?
Say it also ain't true that we are still batting around the wish list of Butch (can't get him out of my head) David and the Surly Mike Leach?
No matter how we finish, Right he won't be leaving, at least not this year. Will he have to make changes to his staff, he better if he wants his career extended. I'm sure his stubborn ass is thinking that if we win these final 2 games plus the dog bowl, all will be forgotten. If he does then he is one stupid s.o.b.

The only way Miami can retain most of their season ticket holders for next year is to hire a big time OC. Otherwise, Miami will be losing a lot of money. I hope they make the right business decision.
Posted by: thirstybuzzardcane | November 12, 2018 at 01:10 AM
Look at television revenue versus ticket revenue and then note where the real business decision lies. At most schools it's at least 5 times more for television.

Issues on offense aside, for the sake of not losing all hope altogether I think that there are some examples of notable coaches having absolutely horrible years and then rebounding. Didn’t Notre Dame having a four win season just two or three years ago? Question is, what did Kelly do in response to that?

we are gonna half to rename the U ...the new Miami projects after Richts 2019 recruits report to school.

Mike Leach 131-82 in 18 years as HC in PAC 12 and Big 12 and 1 big 12 south division championship
Mark Richt 169-63 in 18 years as HC in SEC and ACC, and 2 SEC championships, 5 SEC eastern CHampionships, 1 ACC coastal Championships and 2 National Championships as an OC
I know...stats are for losers!

Without going back to confirm for sure, lol no. nemo is a realist poster going back to the opening of this blob and doesn't change screen names every few years to try to avoid the embarrassment of being found to fake flounce a decade ago when his dad wrote mean lies about 86 on 86's blog while they hid behind their dad's skirt. They're nothing like TS Mike Bradley.
"Posted by: NativeCane | November 12, 2018 at 09:48 AM"
This is a valid point. But pirate captain might get a Pac 12 division title in a few weeks and if he does, he'll be likely to beat whatever the south can offer up for the first career conference championship. Plus, Texas Tech and Washington State are second tier at best schools in their conferences, more like third of lower actually you can argue, while Georgia is supposed to be an SEC power regardless of division. I think they're both good coaches but the biggest difference between them is one was a marginal player and the other never played the game so they manage egos on the roster much differently as a result.
