Since this got no response the first time, let's try this again? Who was the last guy we got from Temple? What was his name?

Posted by: SOUP | December 31, 2018 at 02:42 PM

Alfred Golden!

solarcane

I'm liking Diaz better by the minute

KYcane

Larry Fedora, Anyone?

Posted by: UnderratedHats! | December 31, 2018 at 06:09 PM

for some reason I kinda like this better than Applewhite.

KYcane

I’m never wrong, I know so much because I was alive when JJ coached, I’m a bad azz that doesn’t tolerate losing, I was a bad azz in high school, and I still jazzercise to this day OPINIONS.

Old Skool

Makes sense. The master of the blitz is conducting a coaching blitzkrieg. I imagine the new hires will come aboard before the bodies are cold.

solarcane

Fedora would need a competent Qb like his first rounder was, and a couple guys that could block,

so will anyone else, I wonder if our
qbs wakeup and smell what The Diaz is cooking?

solarcane

kycane
I got it lol

TonyCane

He took care of all of the family business today.

Kidding aside, you do have to feel for these guys. There are families affected by this, and a few days ago most of not all thought that they had jobs in 2019.

Dude on a Pale Horse

I like Fedora as an OC... Manny making some moves.

solarcane

Tony I feel for them, but if they were doing their job they would have a job.

solarcane

Soup eyeballing his season ticket conformation

If they don't I'm betting CMD will not hesitate to replace them.

Herbieibis

Hell yes Manny, The Herb had posted all of them had to go except maybe Hartley but hit the dam brix.
That's half of the problem solve and I even cracked a syht eating grin.
Now let's go get us an innovative OC first and get a smile on the fee few croots left for us to possible get before we start turning over the rocks to get those words I hate: under the radar.
By the Brian Monroe sucked as a punter too.
Wright also had 3 OC'S while he was here.
Started last year with 11 WR's then Harris transfers, Richards is done, Thomas quits, Langham grads. Thankfully, Cager transferring, brick hands and now we have what 6 or 7 left. Finally had depth BUT. Now we have about 15 ships to hand out the only problem is who we going to hand them too.

ThankYouMark

Canes fans need to extend a major thanks to CMR. He is a class act who could have taken us to the bank, but he didn’t. He let us off the hook financially, realized what was best for the program even though it conflicted with his personal interests. I can’t say I would have done the same. He is a good man, and I thank him for what he did and leaving with the utmost dignity and reverence for the U.

If bible study and Jazzercise are out then I am going to have to find a new team. Can I still blog here? Tough crowd!

AeroCane

This is great news on the firings!
The Only 1 I would of considered keeping is Hartley - our TE’s were improved and he was a good recruiter!
Cager was asked to leave I bet! A cancer that couldn’t catch, couldn’t care less whether he caught it or not and manny probably said ‘take a hike’! I bet if rosier had another year, he’d be told the same thing!
It’s a Shame Thomas left!

I agree... A good man... but too stubborn for his own good.
Best of luck in your retirement MR.

GREAT JOB on the 'O' housecleaning, CoachMann!

BigWindyCane

Hartley can recruit, especially north and central Florida, and he definitely coached up the tight ends, but special teams left much to be desired.

I think Fedora has some knowledge of special teams, but I think he will get that offensive line situation straightened out, has head coaching experience to help DIAZ and he has knowledge of the ACC.

I like Fedora as an OC, and he can bring a lot to the table to help Diaz, who has his first HC job.

Herbieibis

Thomas had a dude. Had one in high school. Manny needs to be hitting the dusty. I think k it's a dead period until next Monday, so get O-coaches in here, give a pep talk a cheeseburger and beer and tell to lost and find some croots and ones with talent. That might take a rocket scientist to accomplish that.

AeroCane

Agree bigwindy
Btw - huge news is pickney staying
More important than any jr on D staying imo

Dude on a Pale Horse

Rumph head is on the chopping block but the Godfather hasnt decided his fate yet. He got Rumph tied up in the basement.

Rumph is a good teacher... but you cant recruit like he has... total failure given where he is recruiting.

solarcane

Brevin J and Will M probably having toughest mixed emotions on staff shake up I would think.

UMike

Solar I'm thinking they both want to play in a offense that actually scores and uses them properly. So they will get over it lol

ColaCane

Is Fedora really the new OC, or is this just Canespace chatter? Haven't seen this statement anywhere.

solarcane

Umike
That's why I said mixed emotions, love their coach, but want to win. Brevin will be gone as a junior and a millionaire either way

KYcane

ColaCane

Thanks KY, WOW just 86'ed the WHOLE crew! Gotta question letting Hartley go though, and maybe Dugan's, but I get it!

solarcane

Anyone follow any players on Twitter?
Anything going on?

AeroCane

Fedora is being strongly considered but not yet hired. Maybe working on a deal hopefully.
Cola - Hartley - I’m with you - I would of kept him. Dugans could recruit but a poor wr coach
Our WR’s did not improve in fact they digressed - so good move by manny

Old Skool

Whatever Manny is cooking I'll bet it's blackened. No wine reductions for him. Spice it. Sear it. Flip it.

solarcane

After the New Years Massacre Manny might wait till Wednesday to start announcing new staff members

Old Skool

The players are good with Richt leaving but then the fallout occurs and the shyte gets personal. Michael Irvin II has already tweeted that he's hurting after Hartley got canned.

ColaCane

I read irvin Jr is bummed because of Hartley, understandable. On D side maybe Pinc staying will start a trend?

solarcane

Irvin won't have 10 catches next year
jmo

AeroCane

Lol
Who cares what 1 nonstarter thinks
As I said pickney is huge that he’s staying; so is mccloud; hopefully Shaq as well (he should) but I doubt joe J stays - go get drafted in a top round and make your money

AeroCane

Happy new year Canespace friends!

solarcane

I think Shaq goes and takes care of his family, but he and Manny seem real tight so who knows, 1st team All America next season would up his stock.

AeroCane

I’d love fedora because he is a proponent of the spread but likes running it in the spread! As importantly, he will have coaching connections to bring in the right assistants And will be able to help manny as an ex HC

AeroCane

Solar - and maybe with a new weight and conditioning coach he’ll get a little faster as well

Herbieibis

Agreed, Hartley is the only one on that side, who I would of kept but his punters sucked and Manny was probably bummed that Beagles transfered. Blamed Hartley for him having the shanks.

solarcane

Two fiery azzed coaches with mongrel beards that don't need no stinking concussion talk, roaming the sidelines is just what we need

solarcane

Aero good point,
a little bit more muscle would help him later in the season.
A couple plays here and there he not only looked out of position he looked gassed.

CaneRock

With the exception of Searles & Richt Jr., Richt's selfishness & absolute cowardice to fire & hire the right OC, QB coach, & OL coach, got Dugans & Hartley fired.

Especially Dugans, dude was a good WR coach at Louisville & USF...here too, Richards broke records His freshman season.

Unreal.

ColaCane

Well in Manny we trust, and with that, hope all you filthy animals have a safe and Happy New Year's!! Go Canes!!!

SOUP

Cola - Hartley - I’m with you - I would of kept him. Dugans could recruit but a poor wr coach

No flogging way. Hartley was dead weight. Special Teams coach? Stop stealing. Child please!

SOUP

Hartley was like a guy who sleeps until 11 am everyday and shows up late. No need for that.

SOUP

Gotta question letting Hartley go though, and maybe Dugan's, but I get it!

Posted by: ColaCane | December 31, 2018 at 08:17 PM

Dugans was the worst coach on the staff. Other than the QB coach. What was his name?

CaneRock

Nah Soup, without Hartley, we don't land Jordan & Mallory. Agree with you on STs though. He'll land on His feet with His recruiting abilities. Richt left that cat out to dry.

Old Skool

In other news 41 year old Floyd Mayweather took care of business in a fight with Tenshin Nasukawa Japanese kickboxer, mixed martial artist, and the current Rise Kickboxing featherweight world champion, former Rise bantamweight champion, and the 2017 Rizin kickboxing flyweight tournament champion. Floyd knocked the 20 year old down three times in two minutes and the kickboxer's corner threw in the towel.

SOUP

he is a proponent of the spread but likes running it in the spread!

CaneRock

Dugans was the worst coach on the staff.

Posted by: SOUP | December 31, 2018 at 09:04 PM

Nah, that would've been Searles by a country mile.

AeroCane

When I think of Hartley I only think recruiting and TE’s. Richt has no right to have Hartley coaching ST!

solarcane

Nah, that would've been Searles by a country mile.

Posted by: CaneRock | December 31, 2018 at 09:0

Jon Richt is my guy, our qbs brought us in at what? 108 on offense?

AeroCane

I think we can all ‘get a grip’ on the bad offensive coaches and ‘come together’ with the fact that the one who will remain nameless (qb coach), searles and Duggans were all the worst!

AeroCane

Question: what if it’s fedora and he wants to bring Hartley back as only the te’s coach? Does Diaz take him back?

CaneRock

Jon Richt is my guy, our qbs brought us in at what? 108 on offense?

Posted by: solarcane | December 31, 2018 at 09:16 PM

True.

ColaCane

How the hell can you be ranked with 5 LOSSES? NW is 8-5 and ranked 22? I mean jeez, there has to be a cut off, like 3 MAX!

TruCane81

Manny is smoking them out...

Felder gone...
Searels gone...
Hartley gone...
Brown gone...

Spring cleaning started early.

Hope we hit it with the s&c. Wanna see some transformations.

Thought Hartley was the ace recruiter? Wonder what gives? Most pegged him as the only guy to keep. I mean he beasted with the signees last cycle.

Oh well.

Collateral damage for a sub 90 total offense.

SOUP

Nah, that would've been Searles by a country mile.

Posted by: CaneRock | December 31, 2018 at 09:07 PM

Tru dat.

And the QB coach, whatever his name is?

Talk about rain, should be here in NC, it's rained almost every Friday the last 4 months and days in between
The Herb hates rain! Down at the beach and in 4 full days I've seen the sun for 30 min. Like 5:30 it came out and sank as quickly.
