Soup,
Watched on TV, we didn't get stomped. LSU offense stinks. Good defense but with a legit Qb or coach their ass could of been ours. I think u might of been up in da nose bleeds and having one to many. Granted we had a bad first half defensively sort of like BC.

We just might take this dog bowl. The Herb sees, at this early jucture retribution for the last two less than impressive performances against Wisky. Although it will be a tough sled, I actually see us grinding out a 24-23 win. Why not the same score I predicted against Pitt. Their TE's will probably torch us again and we will cough up a couple long runs but in the end the fee will be the difference again and no thanks to the offense.

Soup made an early Christmas wish to close out the Canes 2018 season with two wins and a bowl victory. Since then, the Canes stepped up and man-handled two bowl eligible ACC teams. I predict Soup will get his Christmas wish in NYC, with another big blowout win over a bowl eligible team, Wisky.

Miami not expecting Tarquin now...
Be patient... "lets see how this plays out."
QB: 0
RB: 0
FB: 1
WR: 1
TE: 0
OL: 0
Hopefully that kid from Butler commits.
So smart of Miami admin to do absolutely nothing about the clear problems on the awfense. Theyve shown great leadership and football IQ and we are reaping the benefits. I can see this all the way from Idaho. Lmao at this pathetic excuse for an administration.

Preseason 4 vs preseason 8
In the ultimate underachievers bowl
Cold weather, a team that beats us in every bowl they show up in, receivers that can't catch footballs in 80 degree heat, a coach that would rather be Christmas shopping
special teams that should ride in their own little bus.. Sounds like a great day to go fishing.
Posted by: solarcane | December 03, 2018 at 12:48 AM
Soup,
An ass beating is what OSU did to Michigan. LSU didn't go up and down the field on us. I don't need no shrink to figure that one out.
Recruiting:
No QB = grad.
No rb = Richards last opp. For supposed elite.
One O-linemen = Tarquin decomitting, which = a couple reaches.
One WR = maybe 2 more with Jones and Hazelwood or just one if all goes South.
TE = one so far but at 6'1 is he really a TE, well at 235, I guess yes!
Looks like a great year for the offense. It looks like a lot of rock flipping to find somebody that wants to play in an elite offense.
Posted by: Herbieibis | December 03, 2018 at 01:00 AM
These baseball stadium games are often some of the worst games during bowl season due to the shortened out of bounds area in the back of at least one end-zone every time they set the gridiron up.
One ACC team win in the last four Pinstripe bowls when Cut's Blue Devils got out with the W in OT against noted football power from the Big 10 Indiana in 2015 . . .

Maybe 3 times is a charm.... Cold weather, very bad season that was bad from day 1, cannot score, no QB, no OL, No ST, great D that is worn out from many minutes on the field, kids tired just want to go home and be with family and friends and forget about football, and a HC who has no clue what he is doing due to burnout, game passing him buy, and from playing in The Sweet Bowl rather than any real bowl....
I swear I would take a vote with the team suggest we just call it a season and not bother going to play in a bowl. These kids are not interested in more practice with a staff that has no clue as to what they are doing or how to coach....I say chuck the bowl, give the kids some time off, get your azzes on the road and recruit..try working for a change because the program is in shambles...Again!!....
Oh yea...and as Chief says in Apocalypse Now....I paraphrase for the UM grim situation...
"Mark, knock it off. Give it a break. What do you think I
said ? And give your jaws a rest. This ain't FSU,
you are Hurricane. Get off that grizzly Georgia looking shit
and stop smoking dope, you hear me".
sometimes when its grim ya gotta laugh....

No matter what happens in the bowl game doesn’t change the fact we have a bad head coach and a horrible OC!
Let’s hope he catches a terrible cold and doesn’t make the ny trip and manny gets to be interim for the game - at least we’d see some passion and excitement on the sideline.

Posted by: Go Canes!! | December 03, 2018 at 09:40 AM
Go Canes...I get your point above, and I for one remain hopeful that the ship will be righted. But for some the ship has already sailed and to be honest you can't blame them. We have all been burned before and some are just more protective (preventative?) on being burnt again. We are all Canes fans and want what is best for the team but for some after year three there is enough evidence that things are simply not working. Nobody can claim that things are going according to the plan. Sure, winning the ACC division was nice last year but the regression on offense and the manner in which it happened this year was very disheartening.

Soup Big Facts
Posted by: Terrance Sullivan | December 03, 2018 at 10:38 AM
Nothing against Money Boy Perry....but he has completed 51% of his passes for 1,089 yds, 15/5...there have been some bad drops....and some really bad misses...he is at best average Rozier is at 53%, 1007 yds, 6/5 worse. combined they are just bad QBs.
Neither QB has ever played well...they are not good qbs and they have a bad OL, play on a bad team with a bad staff and a coach the game has bypassed.
I really do not think the kids do not want to practice any more, play in a game in front of few, that does not matter in the cold.
We have a way of embarrassing ourselves in bowl games...always....we are 19 and 19 all time....
Again, chuck the bowl game, chuck the practices they will not help, let the SRs prepare for the draft, let all the kids go home for Christmas....The BOT AD Staff Head Smoker need to get together and make some decisions...time to get it right here....maybe ev3een think of dropping to a lower division so we can finally compete again....look at that Top 25...we are nowhere near it....unacceptable by any terms

Big Facts Native. Beyond a disgrace. We solved half of the world's problems from Halftime until 4th quarter at AT&T stadium in Arlington. We got embarrassed by LSU. All fair points. Next season will seal his fate. Perry will be in his third year
competing against his hand picked QB in his second year (or QBs if they sign one). All those freshmen running around at WR and TE will be sophomores.
We’ll see how it turns out.
Posted by: Go Canes!! | December 03, 2018 at 11:18 AM
That’s a key thing. We’ve all been burned before by Golden, and to an extent by Shannon. There is now a tendency to think that every failure fromthis point forward is indicative of a prevent defense on goalie situations, all leading to a 158-0 blowout at home by Christian coach D’Abo of Clemson. Hence the willingness to get rid of Richt. We presume that he will be as reluctant to make changes as Golden or DNo. Maybe yes. Maybe no.
Posted by: TonyCane | December 03, 2018 at 11:42 AM
I think you just watch CMR, his body language and his pressers....nothing will change here.
We have to change now; the secret of Manny Diaz is out now....we cannot lose him....but he is well known seeing the success of the D.
CMR has got to get out the slump he is in....get modern.
Thats not to say spread 110% but damn you got to score points play D and have good ST.
If Saban can pass it....god anybody can!!!!

Go - no because richt doesn’t have the ‘it’ factor to get us to the next level - and that won’t change
If we win and play well, all it will do is get us excited for next year only to be let down. I do not like nor think much of richt as a head coach
Posted by: AeroCane | December 03, 2018 at 01:44 PM
I agree Aero, I like him as a person, no problem.
He just is not the fit for UM. Yes he went here, and I know he loves the school. He has been generous; nothing can be said about him as a person at all.
The search process was hasty; the BOT needs to appoint football people to look and search for a real fit. Academicians get in the way; they may know academics but certainly not football. Richt was available, he fit the profile of what the BOT wanted, not the program. AD is spineless he ran with it.
That being said, as much as I like Butch, he had far too much baggage. He left here after 2000; from 2000 to 2003 UM was 46-4...they were BD players winning 92% of their games. Both sides were wrong when he left.He had a lot of controversy at UNC and face it, the shine was gone 54% win. Bad time manager bad game day coach....and BOT held grudge. Butch Davis was great here...great fit then...no way was he getting another shot.
So we got CMR...another lame choice just like Clappy, Onion, AlPa....easy quick choice, cheap, safe. Terrible HCs....but safe fit the form.
Its time to break out the $, do a real search by real football people and get a real AD HC and staff...either get relevant and back on top....or drop to FBS or FCS....or worst case scenario....drop football altogether.
It has become obvious we cannot and with the current BOT, AD, and HC/Staff cannot compete in Division I; look at the Top 25...and some of the names in it....major embarrassment to the once proud program.
Got to solve this now.....too long too lean for relevancy!!!
Posted by: VA Cane | December 03, 2018 at 02:16 PM
I see college football changing from the old days.. the spread offense has made it possible for teams to win with an average defense who gives us plus 20points a game.. back in the day it was seldom seen on the field. Im not sure there was a better qb to run the spread than Kelly when he played in the USFL.And then we had erickson run something like the spread with the one back offense. But I think that the Pirate took the spread to another level. So along with Riley and Frost the only other coaching tree that I would trust would be the Pirates...we need to get a coach who has learned it from one of these three coaches. The U has the speed to even take the spread up an notch...we get a Head Coach from these coaching trees and we will be relevant again.

I could go for that. Dillingham is young but his offense at Memphis put up some big numbers this season, 40+ points. His record at Memphis is the exact opposite of the Canes OC. If they make the announcement early enough, Dillingham can also help us try to salvage what is left of the Canes recruiting class on offense for 2019.
