On behalf of all of the many great people and talented bloggers here at Canespace we want to wish U a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
As you know if you have been around here for any amount of time this blog is more than just a Miami Hurricane sports blog.
It is a family. A family that at times can be a little dysfunctional but still a family of fans like no other blog on the Internet.
We would also like to thank the many good folks at the UM Athletic Department for their on-going support of our blog as well.
As we make our Christmas wishes, we ask U to join us in the Holiday season in wishing peace on Earth and good will towards all. Well, everyone except Florida State and Florida Gator fans of course.
Here are our simple Canespace Holiday wishes for 2018:
1. That UM wins their bowl game against Wisconsin.
2. That Mark Richt turns out to be the best coach any Miami fan could ask for.
3. That the Watsco Center and Mark Light Field are filled with 'Canes fans.
4. That UM baseball makes an early season statement on their way to Omaha.
5. That UM basketball comes on strong in ACC play later this season.
We would like to wish all of U a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

The Dude on High... does your real name happen to be Ahmad Brooks???
--------------------------------------------------------------------
ESPN’s Ahmad Brooks said the spread “fits N’Kosi Perry’s skill set better. It fits the skill set of your recruits in the state better. If Miami is running the spread, look out — Talk about stacking up some Coastal titles. That’s easy money for them....
“In a spread offense, more people touch the football. When you are out selling your program, you can say we’ve got plenty of balls to spread around. We will give you your touches and we can match what you were doing in high school. This is the offense that fits the U the best. This is the right system for [Perry].”

Damn... Richt sucks
Posted by: CoCane | December 27, 2018 at 08:29 AM
I almost don't even want to watch tonight. I will, but I honestly never thought I would see Rosier again. Probably rotate QBs, manage to score 10-14 points and lose a close one.
Posted by: UMike | December 27, 2018 at 08:43 AM
Richt better play Williams some today!
Posted by: thirstybuzzardcane | December 27, 2018 at 08:46 AM
After reading that article, how does Richt consider his offense a pro-style offense? This guy is senile!
Posted by: thirstybuzzardcane | December 27, 2018 at 08:51 AM
Happy Holidays my friends!
My heart says we click on all cylinders on both offense and defense and we win 27-13
BUT my gut and reality says: we have richt as our HC and Willis isn’t playing (their RB is a beast) so I say we lose 27-13
Richt is so bad it’s pitiful; let’s all pray he has a calling after the Game and retires!
Posted by: AeroCane | December 27, 2018 at 09:43 AM
I think we win today. Give the points and take Miami.
Miami 24
Badgers 10

Agree.
No one dimensional team can score on this D consistently.
Canes 27-10 with one defensive score and one TD pass for Dee Jay!
Posted by: Go Canes!! | December 27, 2018 at 10:42 AM
I am hoping for a Canes win! My bruh is a Badger fan and I can't take another year of him gloating.Go Canes!
Posted by: YooperCane | December 27, 2018 at 10:44 AM
If we are gonna see the Richt offense flourish we need to be reminded that there is only 4 downs to go ten yards.. if you are successful then you can march the ball down the field until you get to the red zone. When you are in the red zone you can score points..thats right...score 3 points or up to 8 points. The goal of the offense is to get across the goal line every time you get the ball...can we see a lot of this and less of the boring s stuff?
Posted by: mi@mic@ne | December 27, 2018 at 10:45 AM
Can I remind the corch that the qb should pass to the receiver so that he can put his hands on the ball and if the receiver touches the ball he should catch it...just sayin
Posted by: mi@mic@ne | December 27, 2018 at 10:48 AM
Heart vs. Head... AHH YES!!! Same old dilemma.
I suppose we'll lose... Run, run, pass, punt... Run, run, pass, punt... And in the process, make another backup untested QB look like a Heisman candidate.
BUT, I HOPE, (with my heart), that we come out on FIRE... USE our TALENT and SPEED, and DEMOLISH the Badgers!
A few more hours and we'll see.
Posted by: roachcane77 | December 27, 2018 at 11:04 AM
The guy will never change, that's what the Georgia
fan I met on the plane ride back from that horrible
game in Texas said. He is suborn as a mule and makes a mule look smart. Thinks his way is the only way, doesn't the game has passed him by and we would be sick of him soon.
Guess what , He was dead on.
Posted by: Harry Miller | December 27, 2018 at 11:29 AM
Go Canes...I would rather not see our RB throwing a pass in a cold weather bowl game again lol
Posted by: UMike | December 27, 2018 at 11:42 AM
Need I remind U:
Miami 34 - Wisconsin 13
Posted by: SOUP | December 27, 2018 at 11:48 AM
PLEASE BE ADVISED:
Game Day blog will be up at 5 PM.
Posted by: SOUP | December 27, 2018 at 11:49 AM
I don’t blame Richt for starting Rozier, when you think about the options that presented themselves:
Perry: Social media snafu, but there is the other issue that was mentioned here and elsewhere that if true is presumably being appealed right now, but if upheld would make Perry unavailable in next seasons opener
Williams: Eight days ago he was ready to transfer. Do you hand the keys to the job to someone who was ready to abandon his teammates as they were preparing for the bowl game? You can make the argument that Jarren now has to prove he wants this in the coming spring. Just giving him the start now potentially sets bad precedent and possibly morale issues
Weldon: Suspended numerous times
Rozier: Probably the least gifted athletically, but by far the best teammate and leader.
VA Cane...you’re a coach. When you have those dynamics in play what would you do as a coach? It seems like they are all bad options.

TonyCane Big Facts. Hopefully we win and Malik makes up for his dreadful OB Game performance 362 days ago.

Now why’d you have to go and put that memory back in my head!
Ok, maybe the Dee Jay pass shouldn’t happen.
Posted by: Go Canes!! | December 27, 2018 at 12:25 PM
And in the process, make another backup untested QB look like a Heisman candidate.

My thoughts exactly when I heard Badgers going with the backup.

VA - I will be up with the horses to visit you on the 300 acres LOL.
Soup - Palm Beach County is my favorite county to live in Florida so far (having lived in Dade, and Orange/Seminole). The real trick is to have a place in both kinds of climates and follow the weather.
Posted by: CGNC | December 27, 2018 at 02:04 PM
As for the game tonight: CMR can start #12 - but I want to see Jarren Williams play - this is his opportunity to make a statement that he is our QB and work towards staying that way.
Go Canes!

Posted by: TonyCane | December 27, 2018 at 11:51 AM
YOU START WILLIAMS TODAY!
You almost lost him and did EVERYTHING you could to get him back and now you don't play him when Perry is suspended... he has better skills than ANY QB on the roster right now... and there is a big chance that Perry won't be available in the opener next year! So why wouldn't you try to get Williams experience NOW??? Rosier doesn't help us in ANYWAY next year!
Bad teammate? NO... bad CORCH! Why would he wanna sit behind players that he is better than???
Posted by: WWIN | December 27, 2018 at 03:34 PM
CenturyLink better be back up and running in about an hour or I'm gonna have to laugh at the Hurricanes from my phone internet.

I only slightly disagree. The most important thing to do is to win... but Williams or Weldon get reps, period. Given what we know about Weldon, it should be Williams. Problem is we have clowns corching this team, so I'd expect precisely zero QBs to be ready to beat Wisconsin.

What would winning the pinstripe bowl vs whiskey do???
Which one would you rather win the most pinstripe bowl or season opener vs the gaytors?
But hold on... hold on... hold on! You actually think we have a better chance to win with Rosier than Williams???
Posted by: WWIN | December 27, 2018 at 04:06 PM
One less student athlete for the d-bags here to kick around.
Punter Zach Feagles not at Pinstripe Bowl and is transferring.

Per Manny:
Rosier and Williams on field for warmups. No sight of Perry yet.

I like my Wiskey on ice and my women on fire.....
But I'll settle for my Canes on fire!
Canes 27-24

1) Winning every game is the goal of every football team. It's never okay to put players at risk for a game you aren't trying to win.
2) Lol, both of them, even though I doubt we win either of them.
3) Idk, but I'm not one of those guys that screams for the holy savior freshman QB whenever things aren't going out way either. Here's what I think... Jon Richt & Mark Richt are QB Coach Frauds. I wouldn't be even the least bit surprised if Williams is the worst QB on the team.

Duke plays like we used to
Posted by: solarcane | December 27, 2018 at 04:31 PM
temple is a place to no where ...hope manny can move on with a better job...maybe the Canes....it would take superman to make temple relevant...duke should have never been in the game against our talent.
Posted by: mi@mic@ne | December 27, 2018 at 04:38 PM
Duke have a competent QB coach like we used to...
Posted by: MDCane | December 27, 2018 at 04:40 PM
and their receivers actually catch the ball so they score 50 points..corch hasnt seen 20 points let alone 50

Like always, I just want then to win. Seems like ages, since I have felt good about our Canes. But today my package came with all my Shirts, vests, etc. with the U on allm and I feel a little better. Richt is a dick and Trump is an asshole. So, we don't have much to look forward to.
Caravans, drug dealers storning our country. What a joke and a farce. Just poor people, women, children, and their babies, trying to escape being murdered.
The head Trumpet and all his trumpeteeres should go to Russia and celebrate with the heaq trumpeteer's best friend. VLADIMIR PUTIN.
I've been to Russia and it ain't pretty.
Happy New Year, Canespacers.
