More Manny: Told internally #Canes feel like they have a 50/50 shot to get Hurts.

AfriCane

It’s a valid comparism. U must be dumb not to see it. My point is because u started an entity does not mean u can really use it anyway u want. It’s a very valid point.
But whatever man! This back & forth leads to nothing.

Go Canes!!

This is why Clemson is going to be nearly impossible to beat with Lawrence. They retain all their coaches and their high end juniors stay more than any other program.

David Hale: So in the last 2 years, Bama has said goodbye to 12 underclassmen entering the draft and 8 assistant coaches (not including the support staff that's departed).

We preety much had the same team on offense that we had the previous year. So they were mentally strong one year and sucked the next?

Yup.

Same reason the players tuned out Folden because He wouldn't dump His $h!tty, ineffective scheme, is the same reason the players tuned out Richt.

Anyhoos, I hope He has fun getting His face kicked in by Texas for the next 3-4 years.

Coach Stubblefield new wide receiver coach I don't know the guy

Air Force assistant Taylor Stubblefield is a name to watch out for to fill the Hurricanes’ WR coaching vacancy. Stubblefield worked under Miami OC/QB coach Dan Enos at Central Michigan in 2011.

Well Jason basically said the same thing as Travis Homer did but oh well. hopefully a few more rotten apples will leave. Most have already left need a few more to leave and let's get going. Wiki

Taylor Evans Stubblefield (born January 21, 1982) is a former American football wide receiver for the Carolina Panthers and St. Louis Rams of the National Football League (NFL). He left Purdue owning the most receptions in NCAA history. Stubblefield was most recently the wide receivers coach with the Toronto Argonauts. A three-sport athlete at A.C. Davis High School, Stubblefield committed to the Purdue University to play football for the Boilermakers. In his collegiate debut in 2001, he had five receptions for 65 yards. He led the team in receptions and was named to the All-Freshman Big Ten team by Sporting News. During his sophomore season, he finished with 77 receptions for 789 yards, but didn't record a touchdown catch. As a junior in 2003, Stubblefield earned second-team All-Big Ten honors at the conclusion of the season. In the 2001 Sun Bowl, he had nine catches for a Sun Bowl-record 196 yards. During the 2004 season, Stubblefield was a Biletnikoff Award finalist, earned first-team All-Big Ten honors and was named a Consensus All-American. He finished his college career with an NCAA record of 325 receptions which he held for seven years, 3,629 yards, and 27 touchdowns. He was named to the Purdue Athletic Hall of fame in 2015 and was also named to the 75th Anniversary Sunbowl Team.

Damn Miami snake bit.

We get the “ cancers” and “divas” but everybody else get the ballers.

When ‘onofrio was here, the cancers were on defense.

When Richt was here, the cancers were on offense.

We have to find ways to use those guys, implement them and get them on the field and do things that help [show] their abilities. I think we’ve got a good, young offensive line group. I think we have some good backs from what I’m hearing and investigating. So, I do think there’s a lot of core pieces there. The Spread Coast Offense

My background is really with the West Coast [offense], which a lot of guys are. I think there’s a West Coast element in a lot of offenses. But certainly with today’s day and age and the experiences I have, the spread offense is certainly mixed in there big. At Alabama, we did just a tremendous job with our RPOs last year. That was a whole new world for me, opening up that avenue and getting into some of the creative things we did with that. Certainly, we’d like to be very versatile. Call it the ‘spread coast,’ or whatever you want to call it, but hopefully we’ll get the personnel in here, figure out who we have and hopefully, we’ll get very creative in how we get them the ball. Certainly we have to be really, really good and fundamentally, technically first. We’re going to be an offense that plays with great effort, great toughness, but then, let’s try to use our tools and let’s try to put them in the best place we can. … and get the ball to our playmakers.”

Herb I respectifully don't even look at him as a Goldenite considering he redshirted that freshman year and he was in Richt system for 3 years. I guess it's semantics and technically you are correct but one a coach has been gone 3 years or more at that point they have been transitioned. Now if it was just a year I would be more in line with that thinking. Not saying you are wrongbecause you are technically you are correct but that was a while ago now. Just like by January 2014 i stop calling peeps Shannonites, or January 2010 calling them Cokerites, or January 2004 calling them Butchites, etc. etc. Of course I could be very wrong though lol.

Herbieibis

Terrence,
By my meaning of a Goldenite, he wouldn't of been someone Richt would have recruited and then what happens, he goes out and recruits the same kind of oh line talent that Golden would of gone after. U know we didn't get one oh linemen from Flo. To The Herb that speaks volunms about the Road we were heading down with Richt and Searles.
Glad Manny could see the problem, now it's time to croots and elevate the talent across both forward walls.

Here are some of Diaz’s changes at UM, and another top QB to visit Hurricanes
BY BARRY JACKSON

JANUARY 14, 2019 02:16 PM

Some Canes notes on a Monday:

One takeaway from players at Manny Diaz’s initial team meeting Sunday night: This is going to be different from the Mark Richt regime, with less tolerance for missteps. And players will be more accountable for their teammates’ behavior than ever before.

Some of what we’re hearing, from close associates who were briefed by players after the Sunday evening session:

Diaz named a bunch of designated leaders — primarily respected upperclassmen — and those players will look after the players that they select to join them in their groups.

Players who commit violations — tardiness and far worse — will be subject to discipline, with pushing a weighted sled the most minor of the disciplinary consequences.

The appointed leaders are expected to carefully watch over those players on their “teams,” monitor their missteps, make sure they’re not slacking in their workouts or anything else and take ownership of their groups. Ultimately, the group leader will be held accountable if there are repeated missteps by somebody in their group.

Each leader and his group of players will be situated close to each other in the locker room and, ideally, work out together.

This all feeds into the belief, held by some coaches, that the best locker rooms are the ones where players police their teammates.

It was made clear to players in the meeting that nobody has won a starting job for next season. Everything will be a competition.

Another takeaway: These coaches are “very serious,” as one player conveyed. One UM person predicted there will be greater respect — or fear — of Diaz’s discipline than Richt’s.

Enos:

“We have talented tight ends, wide receivers, we have to find ways to use their abilities. We have a good young offensive line group, good backs from what I’m hearing and investigating. I do think there’s a lot of core pieces there.”

He also shared some thoughts on his offensive philosophy.

“I’ve been a guy that always wanted to be multiple,” he said. “I have the philosophy of `look complex and remain simple.’ … I want to be multiple, let’s shift, motion, let’s go fast, go slow. I’ve been a guy that wants to give defenses things they have to practice against week to week, get prepared on and spend time for. My background is with the West Coast (offense)

IMO, JT4 leaving is best for all parties involved. As far as I am concerned, JT4 made up his mind when he stopped attending practices prior to his suspension. Most of JT4’s teammates will never truly trust or accept him back, and CMD would risk losing the respect of his players if he allowed JT4 to disrespect the Canes.

This isn’t the first time JT4 quit on his team, as he had similar issues in high school. As a matter of fact, if JT4 continues to go back and forth, his indecision risks upsetting his future Illinois teammates by showing a lack of true commitment to them. JT4 is talented, but seems to be immature basket case. Enos will get a group of committed guys, and this Canes offense rolling without JT4. I wish JT4 luck in his new ventures, and hope he finds happiness in Illinois.

DallasTX Cane

Kinda surprised this hasn’t really been commented on much....

The NC game commentators made a big deal about the entire Clemson DL making a pact and coming back for their senior year. Unfinished business, all the cliches. They also mentioned that the young skill players would have an experienced, senior heavy OL next season.

Compare this to all the early departures the Canes have experienced over the last 15 years. Not only sure bet stars, but borderline guys also. I believe one of the major item not typically discussed is that how many guys stick around a program is a leading indicator of the success the HC is having building a winning atttitude among the players & staff. From that positive attitude comes success which attracts better recruits. The first step is convincing guys to stay and help build success.

While I firmly believe staying or leaving is a personal decision that each player must make based on his individual situation, it’s significantly more difficult to turn a losing or mediocre program into a winner when experienced players continually leave. Any positive culture leaves also and it’s much harder to pass that on down player to player. Not to mention the on field impact. If players don’t place team & program ahead of individual (or perceived) gain, the team will stay stuck in 2nd gear - good year followed by disappointment followed by average followed by good followed by disappointment... sound familiar? You’re always chasing something - experience, talent, health. Once you get it fixed in one area, you lose it in another.

Manny - get em to stick around & commit to U. U’r odds of making Year 4 or 5 will go way up.

Herbieibis

Isaiah Walker OT finally offered by the U. Just another reason we aren't getting some of these guys. Miami Norland product is committed to So. Carolina and offered by FSU, Flo. & Penn. St. Among others. Naturally we were late and have a lot of ground to make up. Not Manny's fault. Previous offensive coaches just dam lazy.
Basically told Mahoney thanks but no thanks on another year.

Herbieibis

Dallas,
Golden had a revolving door, one because he brought in quite a few who had no business being here. He took way to many reaches. He handed out ships at his camps like pop corn.
Thomas may have been right about the coaches not using him the right way but he went about it the wrong way. He had a problem at high school. He quit on his team.
This ebb and flow has got to cease. We needed a stabilizer and I think Manny is the guy. I just hope he gets some guys on offense that can recruit. We start getting guys to stay home the winning will come.
Some of the guys that have left needed to go. Cager, Thomas, Feagles, Mahoney. Thomas hurts but his attitude hurt the team worse.

TonyCane

I agree with others that Jeff Thomas will never play CFB again. He’ll go pro after sitting out the 2019 season. With his track record, at best he’s a 6th or 7th round pick. More likely a rookie free agent. In either case, a long shot to make an NFL squad.

Had he not quit, stayed at Miami, and been healthy he was a 2nd - 4th rounder in 2020.

TonyCane

Herbie, some of Golden’s classes (and Shannon’s 2010 class)has truly absurd attrition. When you lose a third of your class after one year it’s no wonder that the teams depth fell to its lowest level since the 1990s a few years ago.

CaneRock

Bad advice has contributed to mass attrition more than coaches not being able to get those kids to stay. Those 2011 kids, & Norton & McIntosh, got some horrible advice.

But I also feel like the NFL needs a process in place like the NBA so these kids can use better due diligence.

CaneRock

Kaaya's another one that had no business leaving early.

Old Skool

I asked an insider whether Jalen Hurts was coming, who was going to be the new wide receiver coach, whether Diaz would take JT back. He said "Shut up and quit asking so many questions."

orange 'n green in the vein

If gold-hen-girl-loser-for-life-against-the-primary-rival-dude doesn't punk out like the teary eyed bitch he was going into 2018's offseason UM is still losing to felonious sexual-assault university going on nine in a row heading into 2019's season.

All ganes garbage era losers with scholarships must be flushed down and out the door before the cancer can even be considered to begin to be treated in the football program.

What Clemson is doing right now is the result of great talent, great coaching and just as importantly, great culture.

HillviewCane

It's much easier to comeback when there is a reasonable chance of success. Coaches need to put the team first also. Coaches shouldn't
refuse to fire their best friend or son. I definetly understand why players wanted want to return for that. It exposes Hypocricy. You look up the ladder and the people above you are pantless and exposed.

Jalen Hurts would be a great one-and-done acquisition, and Tate Martell (who has to sit out a year) seems like a realistic transfer option to compete for starting QB in 2020.

Next season, Hurts would be a RS senior, Martel a RS sophomore (sitting out), Perry and Weldon would be RS sophomores and Williams would be a RS Freshman.

If there are no transfers, this is ideal QB depth. In the real world, however, QBs at Power Five Schools transfer all the time. As a matter of fact, I think I read an article that said about 40% of 4-5 star QB recruits transfer in their college career.

VA Cane

The QB situation looks weak; I am adamant the Porn and Pot boys got to go.....these 2 guys are a cancer; they got their head up their AZZ, are self centered, and cannot add positives to the program.
