VA Cane

Clemson has created a strong football and athletic culture. The BOT/Pres were smart when they hired Terry Don Phillips as AD 2002; he was a coach at VT when I was there. He promoted Dabo. Those kids love Clemson, Dabo...I went to a couple games and met Clelins boys....great kids who love Clemson and Dabo....whole team does.

Saban rules with fear; the man is a jerkoff person. Very good coach but everyone is afraid of him....sad. The media loves him losing....i love him losing. He bulls**ts kids into coming, then they find out hes an ass. Coaches kids leave because they want better places to work in...he wins but he is selfish, all about him. How did he work out with Dolphins...he sucked!

We let bad ADs Dees Kirby James and a jerkoff BOT....and Hag Midget Pres let Clappy be promoted by kids who were wrong, then hire 3 bad choices without any search. Look at the culture...negative coaches and ADs, scandals, certainly a biased president totally against sports.....what do you expect? Name a kid who has said God I love Miami....its great here....it aint great there at all. Its sad to see the adults influence the kids so badly.....the kids have a role....but I cannot imagine playing for these people....or being under them...or even respecting them as people. Manny is trying to create something new and positive.....

This AD BOT are really bad....this new prez well you read his resume...he may be smart....but his resume tells me all I need to know....sports do not matter.
It is hard to create a positive football in this negative biased culture at this time.We have allowed a monster to be created here....Education is a great thing no doubt....but when sports do not matter and the people that are in charge today have certain views its a negative culture that is biased against sports and postive influences.

VA Cane

I think so many people let Donna Shalala implement the Harvard of the South BS, and it has ruined the sports programs, especially football. That old dirtbag is 77 years old and you guys cannot get enough of her....she is a old hag.....way too old to be making decisions and yet there she is in office...

HillviewCane

There is actually video of the Weldon and Richt convo.https://youtu.be/KUXb7do9C-w

Terrance Sullivan

Yea Like Tad Foote was all that Great of a President when it came to Football he only BS'd around Howard, Jimmy, Dennis, and Butch but people stay giving him a pass lol. BTW Tad was the one who wanted Miami to be Harvard of the South, Now Donna Carried that on no question but lets kill that noise like it was only her doing Tad didn't give a damn either and we all know it. So Spare us the BS.

VA Cane

No doubt Tad was even worse sorry I left him out.....they all have been major reasons for the negative culture...they all have done this over time....and it gets to a point where it is so bad that it makes it a terrible uphill battle for the kids.....I paid for my niece to go to UM....and she is smart and educated.....but at the same time, ignoring the great attraction of UM football is a very bad policy.....dont know how much that can be changed....but winning and creating a strong positive winning football team is a start....

Terrance Sullivan

Its' all good VA. Brotha U are preaching the gospel. Total Facts.

thirstybuzzardcane

Williams will transfer if Miami Martell comes here.

Here's my prediction:

We get Martell.
Hurts goes to Oklahoma
Williams transfers
Perry is our starter against Florida

VA Cane

TSully, I remember meeting Foote once.....after he treated JJ like hell. I want education for kids....but to sacrifice our program....it brought a lot of different people and cultures together....something to hold onto believe in......CMR got some of the feel back credit due.....but we need young dynamic people I think MD is going for that....i thought they would search harder....but MD appears to have a clear plan.....action.....I look forward to see how things develop.....
Thirsty....let them come compete like to see what Williams has....but no Perry...cannot rely on him any longer....

Terrance Sullivan

Exactly VA.

solarcane

BetOnline’s odds for Jalen Hurts to land at Miami: 4/1. Odds of Hurts landing st Maryland: 1/2.

They have Hurts 9/1 odds of winning Heisman next season — after Trevor Lawrence (3/1) and Tua Tagovailoa (4/1).

So according to this logic it doesnt matter what the Brand value of your team is if you are a Heisman guy.

Like how Paul Hornung won the Heisman while playing on a losing team.
The losing team being Notre Dame had nothing to do with it.
He would have won the Heisman playing for Kansas State too.. yea sure

CaneRock

Those 4 DLmen staying at Alabama was an anomaly...you'll have a better chance at stackin' talent like Alabama than getting that to happen.

And BTW, Alabama's not going anywhere soon...they had 12 players drafted last year, including 4 1st rounders, and they looked more dominant than 17'.

And they have the #1 ranked classes for 19' & 20'.

But anyhoos, phuck both of em'.

CaneRock

Correction...Those 4 DLmen staying at Clemson.

Maybe I can make it to the Wisconsin game. Not too far from Michigan. When I was in school, Tad Foote was the head guy. Thought he was great. BUT,never realized that he too, along with other big shots never cared about the football program. Then came Donna, and she never gave a damn either.
Amazing that we won championships, despite all the negative coming from the top.
Get rid of all of them, and let CANESPACE U ALUMNI run the show.
We need a revolution at the U.

VIPHurricanes see FSU commit on Monday
VIP Notes: The latest on Miami's pursuit of Martell, Hurts

Miami has had two high-profile transfer quarterbacks on campus over the past 72 hours: Alabama's Jalen Hurts and Ohio State's Tate...

This is good stuff guys

Tight end tradition will continue
The Miami Hurricanes have a rich tradition at tight end.

It has become the premier position for the UM program in terms of developing elite players and sending them off to the NFL.

The pipeline at the position has been impressive since the late 1990s: Bubba Franks, Jeremy Shockey, Kellen Winslow Jr., Greg Olsen, Jimmy Graham, Clive Walford, David Njoku, and Chris Herndon.

The Hurricanes have two young players in Brevin Jordan and Will Mallory that have the potential to join the group of talented UM tight ends that make an impact in the NFL—and UM’s new offensive coordinator Dan Enos has shown in the past that he is willing to showcase the talents of a tight end.

At Arkansas in 2015, Enos built a passing attack that highlighted the ability of Hunter Henry, who finished that season with 51 receptions for 739 yards and three touchdowns. It was his most productive season at Arkansas. Also in 2015, Enos utilized the number two tight end, Jeremy Sprinkle as a red-zone threat who totaled 27 receptions for 389 yards and six touchdowns. He followed that season up in 2016 by catching 33 passes for 380 yards and four touchdowns.

As the head coach at Central Michigan in 2011, Enos directed an offense that threw 34 passes to tight end David Blackburn for 479 yards and five touchdowns.

Even though he was not the play caller for Alabama’s 2018 team, you can probably expect Enos to use Jordan in a similar manner that the Crimson Tide used Irv Smith, who caused a lot of problems for defenses with his athleticism and route running in the middle of the field. Smith lined up all over the field and finished the year catching 44 passes for 710 yards and seven touchdowns.

Jordan is a player with a similar skill set to Smith. He’s a smooth route runner with an explosive burst in the short area. Enos likes to attack the middle of the field in the passing game, so a talented tight end like Jordan (or Mallory) can have a big impact on the offense.

Jordan finished his freshman season with 32 receptions for 287 yards and four touchdowns. As one of the focal points in Enos’ offense in 2019, you can expect even bigger numbers from Jordan this year.

Sorry about not clipping the top start at the tight end stuff

I will be at the UF game in Orlando come Hell or high water. Contact me after that for further details.

Reading the tea leaves and tweets, it looks like Tate's gonna be a Cane.

solarcane

For what its worth Manny posted a gif of a category 5 hurricane less than an hour ago. Now lots if players are retweeting it and sending it to other players.

Is this the white smoke from the Vatican chimney?

Go Canes!!

There's definitely something going on at the U.

It's looking like Martell is going to commit.

Would be a gigantic, game chaning pickup for us.

Can we get Tim Tebow?

Hearing lots of positive things about Jeff Thomas & Miami reunion but will wait until UM confirmation to report definitively because of Thomas' penchant to change mind. As we noted yesterday,Thomas was never given no by Diaz after asking to return; just wasn't given immediate yes

solarcane

Ok I gotta migraine from jt4
I don't care where he goes for a few hours guys

I'm out
GO CANES!!

thirstybuzzardcane

Diaz liked Hartley's Tweet! I'm almost positive JT is coming back! Big news if true!

I also heard JT was waiting to see what Martell was going to do per "sources" at Illinois. Thomas wasn't thrilled what Illinois had at QB.

Dude on a Pale Horse

Im done trying to follow this sage. He's gone, he's back, he's gone, he's back. If I wanted this kind of drama I'd watch a soap opera.

Willis went from being talented but
a pure dick, to team MVP under Manny.

Manny gets Thomas head Right no telling what we see.

I got a feeling Thomas coming back was met with mixed emotions in the locker room.

One thing for certain our receiving and return team just got 100% better

TonyCane

We back!

And so is Jeff Thomas! Best of luck to him next year. Surest way to make it to the next level. Kudos for taking responsibility (I hope) and showing the fortitude to return.

Dude on a Pale Horse

Jet. Sweep. Motion. 2019.

Herbieibis

Be nice if we got him back but ain't all that and a box of chocolates. Looks to be that he needs his ego stroked and a little pampering. Must be one of them dudes that likes to pout when he don't get his way.
The Herb can do with or without him. I'd let the players vote on taking him back and if he is let back on it comes with a no tolerance policy.
We ain't got but one football to around and 7 mouths to feed. We already have Pope who was disgruntled.
Aside from these grad. Players who are we even going after, besides Bogle. We have to have a booty of ships. At one time we had at least 11 or 12 left and that was before a few have flew the coop. After we got blanked by it seems everybody, I quit keeping up.

Like sands through the Hourglass so are the Canes of our lives

It's been a unique ride with plenty of stops along the way for UCLA graduate transfer DT Chigozie Nnoruka.

The Nigerian native moved to the U.S. as a toddler, then went back with his family to Nigeria as a teenager. He returned to the States for his final two years of high school, taking up football at Sacramento (Calif.) John F. Kennedy High but not earning major offers - as a senior he had 54 tackles and 10 sacks.

So he spent a year at Sacramento (Calif.) American River Community College, working under the tutelage of coaches with DI experience. They helped groom him into a major prospect - he had three sacks and eight tackles for losses as a freshman - and UCLA took a chance on the powerful big man. Nnoruka earned a starting role in 2017 - he had 10 starts and finished with 49 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and two sacks. But this past season, in a new system, he came off the bench in 11 games and had seven tackles.

Hence the transfer.

And now Miami is in good shape to land Nnoruka.

NEW BLOG IS UP!

BigWindyCane

JT4 and Braxton Berrios are polar opposites. If the Canes had a few more players with Berrios mentality and attitude on the Canes offense this past season, the Canes would not have lost six games.

If JT4 is back, then I will cheer for him. I am not a fan of the drama though. I hope CMD knows what he is doing by taking him back. I will have to give CMD the benefit of the doubt
