So when you think about all of the Miami Hurricanes fan blogs you have to consider Canespace as one of the best.
Over the years we have won some and lost some games, and some fans, but the reality is that in the end we have held it together as best we can. And better than most other sites who have tried to do the same.
Sarasota Cane recently demonstrated his love for the bloggers here by donating his time, effort and money to recognizing two bloggers here at Canepsace: VA Cane and myself. The results are very rewarding.
While we do not always agree, in fact, we probably disagree more often than not, we all have much more in common than we think. And we all have the love for "The U" in our hearts and bleed orange and green.
The relationships that have formed here over the last twelve years have been tested and tried over time. Like any good family, we have been through good and bad times, have fought for what we believe and have left our scars on each other from time to time. But that does not diminish our loyalty to Canespace.
Yet still, here we are in 2019 cheering on our team and helping each other find our way through the maze of life and sports. We are rooting for new head coach Manny Diaz to lead us to victory in games that are ahead.
And we remain hopeful for what is yet to come in the long and storied history of Miami Hurricanes football. Go Canes!
First, in a long time!

What a wild ride these last 3 weeks have been.

JT4 and Braxton Berrios are polar opposites. If the Canes had a few more players with Berrios mentality and attitude on the Canes offense this past season, the Canes would not have lost six games.
If JT4 is back, then I will cheer for him. I am not a fan of the drama though. I hope CMD knows what he is doing by taking him back, and can manage all of it. I am pulling for CMD to be successful, so I will have to give CMD the benefit of the doubt.

TonyCane,
Great predictions so far. Tate is also a strong possibility. Hurts is 50/50. This would be a great week

We need to pull out the “sec” benefits for JT4.
Move the fam and baby girl here Tua style.
Might help him keep it together better.

Damn Sota those are nice.
Where mine at?
Posted by: TruCane81 | January 15, 2019 at 11:24 PM
Was JT brave for recognizing bad leadership and making an effort to get out? Is it drama or recognition. I guess it depends but hell, he essentially did the same thing Manny did, at the same time too. Manny was abandoning us to go to Temple. Then things changed and he came back.
Hopefully JT makes the team better but Manny probably get's where JT was coming from. Clean slate but more accountability going forward is not a bad play.

Sota has always been a class act.
I have enjoyed his blogging from the get go
Posted by: solarcane | January 15, 2019 at 11:44 PM
I think the team leader/group thing is going to help JT4.
He gets in a team of his peers in the locker room and has to walk the walk or have them all pushing the plough, he will grow up.
You already know DJ Dallas and Shaq will be two of the permanent captains, they won't put up with missing meetings.
We will know, the first time he is 15 yrs behind the defender and the qb sails it five yards behind him.

Martell is going to have to sit out a year. I heard rumors he might graduate before summer which will make him eligible to play right away.

He's got ability. He looks like Rosier off the hoof, perhaps a bit faster and certainly more agile. I think this means we are gonna see a QB transfer though.

Various sports writers
" Martell is hopeful to graduate from OSU this spring with hopes of gaining immediate eligibility."

I have one question about Tate Martell.
If he stays at OSU this Spring in order to graduate in May (and therefore qualify to play for UM immediately next season as a grad transfer) can he truly emerge as our #1 QB with so little practice time (with our team) before the start of the 2019 season?
Posted by: nemo2002 | January 16, 2019 at 01:32 AM
It's clean and a new system, either get with it, Perry, Weldon and Williams or get out! Somebody will leave.

Posted by: WWIN | January 16, 2019 at 12:36 AM
From what I have seen of his play in quick reviews of his HS and OSU footage is leadership and situational awareness. The ability to direct the receivers and elude the defenders while the play is underway is rare to my knowledge. Granted the coach may have given him leeway to do such things whereas Richt could have kept the clamps on.
Posted by: Old Skool | January 16, 2019 at 04:20 AM
Thinking about next year ... if Manny and Enos can't loosen defensive sphincters with an offense of Martell, Lingard, Davis, Brevin, Mallory, Pope, Payton and Thomas, it's time to turn in their coach cards, go sip Shirley Temples and carry their wives' purses.
Posted by: Old Skool | January 16, 2019 at 04:34 AM
Don’t understand the hype around Martell...Fields transfers to his school and he leaves....Why do the Canes need this guy again? Seems mentally soft and afraid of competition.
Posted by: dg | January 16, 2019 at 05:47 AM
I thought you could get a waiver and not have to sit out a year if you're transferring due to a coach leaving...
Posted by: CoCane | January 16, 2019 at 06:25 AM
Martell is a known quantity with a skill set that the staff can have some confidence in. Otherwise, we are entering the season with N'Kosi, Jarren and Cade. Two of whom have serious questions surrounding them and the other is a complete unknown. Also Manny's riding a wave of momentum and a significant opportunity to make a big splash next fall. why not do everything to ensure he makes the most of it.
Moving on may not always been a sign of weakness but a recognition of opportunity or at least a willingness to step into the unknown.
Was Brock Berlin mentally soft and afraid of competing with Rex Grossman? How about Steve Jobs and John Sculley? I"m sure there are arguments both ways, but that's my take.

When you go 43-0 and win 3 Nation Championships in high school you must be doing something right.
