Can UM head coach Manny Diaz deliver on his promise to bring "The New Miami" back to prominence?

Most Miami fans seem to think so. Most Florida fans seem to doubt it.

In one week we will know whether "TNM" is just another cute slogan or the real deal.

Me and all of my Canespace friends just can't wait to find out!

I am one of them and I am coming from California Thursday. I believe we are going to play a great game. I believe we can beat the Gators if all goes right. I believe we are greatly under rated by most of the country. I am looking forward to seeing some of my canes family. Saturday can't get here fast enough. What's good Legion/Canespace? Top 3 reasons why the U should run table and play in a New Year's Day game if not the college football playoffs.

1. 9 out of the 12 games this year will be played in the State of Florida.
2. Great opportunity to be the true Florida State champions (4 teams on the schedule are from the state of Florida).
3. The only possible cold weather game on schedule is Nov. 30th against Duke in Durham, NC.

There was some good preseason games this weekend at Traz. Booker T. Washington beat Apopka, and Miami Central beat Cedar Grove, a Georgia 6A champion. Lots of D1 talent all over the field. Talent in South Florida is incredible this season. Miami Hurricanes won’t get them all, but hopefully, they will get their fair share.

I've looked around the net and can't find any rumors other than some guy named the truth posting something on the last blog after midnight about ped's and suspension of a couple of players. So either this guy is cia or a troll trying to start rumors. Does anyone else know of anything?

He could very well be a troll, and I have no sources, but there have been a lot of comments about it on various other Miami sites. So more and more people are hearing about it or at least it seems.

A PED suspension would t be close hold info that CMD what be allowed to disclose at the time of his choosing. A PED suspension would come from NCAA and be announced loud for everyone to know.

Team rule violations CMD may announce a day or two prior to the game. Hope it doesn’t happen but it’s pretty common before the first game as it is covering all team rule violations for the entire summer.

Jon Richt was Williams mentor at that time , so yea with the Richts coaching him Williams was probably hitting receivers by pure talent and not troubling himself with learning the 4 plays Richt devised. So it probably did look to CMR that Williams was just flinging it.
I think Williams knows Enos can get him into the NFL, so he has motivation to be the guy now.
I am rooting for him. I thought Martell was gonna be a whole lot better than he is at qb.
But I still hope Tate plays somewhere here.

Good thing Brevin Jordan told Richt to go get Williams or we might be in deep doo doo this year.

Cedar Grove had a good dual threat QB. They had some weapons but Central was just too talented and turned up the heat on offense and defense in the second half and the game was over. He was solid high school QB though, but I think the Canes have other QB targets in mind.

Central can be very good. They changed the FHSAA classifications, so Central won’t have that Northwestern, Carol City, etc., playoff gauntlet to run through for a State Championship. Northwestern won the state championship and beat Miami Central in the playoffs after going 5-5 during the regular season. Central and Northwestern are now they are all playing in different classifications. There is a lot of talent. I don’t expect the Canes to get all of them, maybe just 1-2 might be great.

Central still has a tough schedule and they still play rivalry games, but they also have a couple of cupcakes too, like other teams

Right on with Pope, after seeing his high school hilites I thought he was gonna start for sure.
I'm not sure how much Richt and his staff undermined a bunch of players.

Solar its not all on Richt. Perry and Pope didn't know the playbook that's on them and not surprisingly neither of them are starting and Harley was high profiled as well and this is dude 3rd year in the Program he has 0 TD's. This is Pope 2nd Year and he has one more catch than any of us in our UM Career. Both Harley and Pope were 4 Stars from Powerhouse Programs in Fort Lauderdale and Miami respectively. Coaching was a Issue but Players also not doing their jobs was a issue as well. Right Now they are in the Bust Category its up to them to shed that label.
