The New Miami found old ways to lose a football game in their 24-20 loss to the Florida Gators in Orlando on Saturday night.
Numerous penalties, a few dropped passes and one costly turnover can do that to a young and developing team.
We had predicted a final score of Miami 34 - Florida 17. And if not for the above mentioned mistakes it very well could have been.
The Hurricanes certainly look much improved over last year's debacle in Dallas when UM was out-manned and out-played decisively by LSU. They were always in this game and had their chances to steal a win but could not manage to come up a big play when it mattered most or score enough points to change the outcome. Simply put, twenty points is not going to get it done against the big boys in 2019.
This very young Miami team has a new head coach and a new starting QB but clearly still lacks the confidence or play makers (or both?) needed to pull off a road upset against a top 20 team.
The Florida Gators are not likely to win the SEC or the National Championship but had just enough talent and coaching to beat Miami in the college football 2019 season opener.
It is very likely Miami will be much improved by the end of the season and the results will reflect this as the Hurricanes chase an ACC title game date with likely opponent the Clemson Tigers.
Until then we encourage UM fans to be calm and Cane on. There is hope in Coral Gables again as The New Miami shows signs of being a work in progress.
Jarren completes 65% of his passes for 260 yds, is sacked 3 times throws 2 tds and no picks Im good.
Dallas and the Rbs are good for 3 scores. throw in at least one fg.
I dont see our defense giving up 24 points, I think we are good to go.

Canes by two TDs.
That is all.

The Miami HEAT have signed guard Davon Reed. Reed played four collegiate seasons at the University of Miami, appearing in 131 career games (99 starts)

Im not ready to move on from those guys just yet. We don't even know if williams is the guy yet. And I think Tate will add something to the WR group, especially if other guys continues to not step up.

The Bloodmobile should be in Coral Gables Sunday morning.

U got that right. Let's hope Go Canes' 2 TD win prediction is true. If not could get pretty dicey for Diaz and TNM in the blink of an eye.

☝️🤔 I don’t know anything about Clark, but Scaife will definitely solidify that RT spot.
I hope the Canes can run the football effectively. Old fashioned football against UNC - run the ball effectively and stop your opponent from running the ball. The Canes have had two weeks to prepare for UNC. A solid win against UNC will go a long way in helping the Canes reestablish themselves as the elite of the ACC Coastal
Posted by: BigWindyCane | September 05, 2019 at 09:11 PM
Another true Freshman starting. Doesn't say much about our upper class men. Moving Scaife, is a good move.
LB's got to be better than last game and tackling as a whole better be better.
Da (U) 27-17. Good to take a while for us to truly be clicking on all cylinders. S lot of trial and error to get the parts in place.

1. We will see what improvements and game planning (if any) will be implemented.
2. A solid win would be nice. Anthing else will open the flood gates of negativity.
BIG game on Saturday night.

Message to myself after watching Stephen King's original "It" again.
Please kill myself if I ever even consider reading or watching anything
That has Stephen King attached to it.
We all float.

Does say a lot about CMD’s timeline IMO. He’s looking 2 years out. Don’t make any bets on our Canes getting past Clemson before then. Fighting for a Coastal div champ is best to be hoped for.

Hi Tony,
Is that the one about the flu?
I never read it.
I admit Stand By Me,Christine Shawshank Redemption are pretty good movies that I enjoy.
I'm sure if King has over 50 or 60 novels out he has some more gems in there.

I don't think Jarren made one throw beyond 20 yards, but the plays might be there on Saturday night. I also think that there might be some running lanes for DeeJay, CamRon and Lorenzo for some more explosive plays.
Posted by: BigWindyCane1 | September 06, 2019 at 02:11 PM
King has over 60 books out now with the release of new one. The guy is nothing if not prolific and profitable. He's rumored to pull in $60 million per year.
Posted by: Old Skool | September 06, 2019 at 03:07 PM
Bolden our a few more games! This sucks as I feel he’s the answer at safety and carter has shown me nothing in his year and 1 game! He could of and should of been there to help Gilbert on the long pass play!

"King has over 60 books out now with the release of new one"
Jeezuz skool,
what did Jane Austen write like 4? 60 Kings = .005% any Austen book to me. Jmo
Windy,
I am concerned we get burned deep at least twice.
I do think we are gonna see a lot of new offense from Enos.
I think our running backs make Williams night a lot easier than last game.
I think Thomas redeems himself on special teams.
Soup,
I'm very happy for you and Maria, that was awesome.
I was looking through my closet at my Cane, outdoor, hot rod tee shirts and came across the very first gift you gave me years and years ago.
It is a tee shirt that simply says ,"No Hate" on the front, meant a lot to me then, even more now.
Keep on keeping on.

I am on Comcast and there is no ACCN on it yet. I do not watch anything but football so i would never pay for it. Hope to pick it up on some wacko channel online. Watch on the computer think TX vs LSU will be a great game as well.

Solar, will you be in NC tomorrow? Any other spacers besides TSully and myself going?
Posted by: UMike | September 06, 2019 at 04:53 PM
Mike,
Sadly no.
I had planned to visit my grand kids in Hickory then come watch the game with you Sully and the guys.
There was a change of plans Tuesday night with my daughter. I didn't want to put my wife through a hassle about last minute hotel, and I didn't want to drive back to Georgia after the game.
We are going to Pigeon Forge next Friday and Saturday for the Fall Rod Run so Im being cool about pushing my luck with the boss lady.
Have a great time!
