“When I was a child,
I caught a fleeting glimpse,
Out of the corner of my eye,
I turned to look but it was gone,
I cannot put my finger on it now,
The child is grown, the dream is gone,
I have become comfortably numb”
Surely Pink Floyd's David Gilmour must be a Miami Hurricane fan.
Every one of us deals with reality in different ways.
You might find yourself in denial, cursing the television, throwing stuff all over the place. Maybe you are the type that suffers in silence and just shake your head in disbelief. I used to be both of those type fans, sometimes even during the same game.
Now nothing horrible the Canes do on the field upsets me or even surprises me.
I have become comfortably numb.
Fortunately I was able to move on from denial a long time before most of my Canespace pals were willing to let go. I was in the minority a decade ago when I predicted the Miami Hurricane football team would dwell in the eight wins four losses neighborhood for all eternity.
Nobody wanted to believe me back then, yet here we are.
Sure, the Canes continue to tease us and win a couple notable games in spite of themselves, but they never look like "The U" is Back. I don't really believe we will ever be back. We are the football version of the Chicago Cubs. I don't know if we can pull off 108 years between championships, but we are giving it a hell of a shot.
Remember when you were a kid and fell off your bike and how bad it hurt for awhile and how you hated that bike? Then in time your bruise became numb and you realized that you still really loved that bike after all.
Rooting for the Miami Hurricanes is something like that.
We all have become comfortably numb.
Dallas posted too soon as somehow Dallas forgot about GD trying to flex blob cop muscles he never had on here once Eliot triggered GD from getting high off his owner Fake Lames' farts, brain and otherwise.
Predicting a loss isn't cheering for one but you can't expect a blog name changing sockpuppeteer sid-tard to be able to figure that out, he's got talking points to distribute after all!

Good morning,
I encourage everyone to enjoy time with their families today. We need to come together and show the University of Miami we demand change! Question for those of you that are in the know with the program. When we lose all of our remaining games except FIU, is that enough to get Manny fired in year 1? A record of 4-8, will that get him fired? I hope so because that's what our record will be.

The continued intensity of your feud and the tenacity with which U pursue “GD” is actually awe-inspiring, OGV. I’m not sure I understand WHY but I do give U points for consistency and dedication.

Stop your crying and start rooting for another team if your demented logic is somehow wanting a loss.
I already have! Easy to transition to a Georgia fan her on the coast of GA! Thanks for being so concerned about my feelings. You are just mad because your TEAM sucks balls and you are in for mediocrity the rest of your life. Face it Miami is the WORST team in the power 5 conference and your QB is a broke man's, Jamarcus Russell. Garbage play, garbage coaching, and garbage players. Miami has 5 good players on the entire team. Have fun not bowling this year all because Blake won't take his big head out of his ass and realize that he should fire himself and the whole staff! Somewhere Mark Richt is sitting in a recliner eating cheese puffs laughing at all us!

Here we go. Another game day. My heart says the Canes can win this game, but my head tells me that it will be a tall task just to look respectable.
Right now, my assessment of CMD is that he is the least qualified HC MIAMI has had in the last 50 years, but with some breaks, he can maybe become as good as Al Golden. With the Canes sitting at 3-4, following a loss at home to the worst Power 5 team in college football, this Pitt game will tell me a lot. If the Canes play well and win, I will put CMD on par with Golden for the time being. If the Canes lose, then I would rate him lower than Golden for now.
That is what is at stake for me today.
