It would take Jesus Christ at least two seasons at FSU to have a winning team.

"I talked to God because I knew he'd understand. He said stick by me I'll be your guiding hand. But don't ask me what I think of FSU because I might not give you the answer that you want me want me to." Apparently, Jesus doesn't want the job, he has his hands full with those of us at Canespace?

Oh silly blobber, you forgot, concern trolls have a very narrow range of concerns they can troll about, lest they spread their concern trolling too wide and give up the game plan about why they're 'here' in the first place. Like at the end of the blob a few blobs ago where the mask slipped because GD got blown out, for example.

Fake Lames needs to take notes as just because you're in a better position still than an irrelevant program spiraling down the toilet pipe, it doesn't mean shit unless you keep winning.

FSU WR Warren Thompson's mother blasts Willie Taggart in note
ByBRAD CRAWFORD 39 minutes ago

The aftermath of Florida State's weekend decision to fire Willie Taggart following Saturday's loss at Miami is wide-reaching, including one detailed diatribe from Cherokee Grace-Thompson, the mother of Seminoles wide receiver Warren Thompson.

Taggart flipped Thompson to Florida State from Oregon in January 2018 after initially scouting the talented pass-catcher from Seffner, Florida, during his time at USF. Thompson's mother expressed distrust with Taggart — notably with a redshirt season — in a lengthy Facebook note posted on Monday, a day after his firing.

*Warning* This post contains material that may not be suitable for younger audiences.

"Dear, Coach Taggart....How you Treated my son was completely & utterly INSANE He was your Number 1 Recruit & made headlines with you," Grace-Thompson posted on the social media platform. "Topped charts with Warrenj signature & mine in the 2018 recruitment-stats And then, you all got to FSU 1st qtr The NIGHTMARE BEGAN and it didn’t stop!! Warrenj Red Shirted himself not Taggart right after the Miami game 2018. Taggart & I had it out about that (All season) 2nd season the NIGHTMARE begins again-now it’s increasingly unbearable by 10-26 Coach Dugans called and said Warrenj refused to dress out."

Grace-Thompson says Florida State's staff told her that her soon "quit football," so like any mother would do, she made the trip to campus.

"I drop everything- immediately go to my son’s aide. And once I got to Tallahassee. My son said this: Im refusing to dress under him anymore, & I’m on Strike...He said I will not go back to Football until he is FIRED Momma," Grace-Thompson wrote. "I’m saying to myself- Warrenj is really tripping right now & flipped out So I said ok. I’m not here to pressure you just wanting to support your decision-Son I had 4 meetings last week At FSU & one was with Coach T & Warrenj refused to attend all 4 meetings & still refused to dress for this pass- Miami game that ended with a loss & Coach Taggart firing.

"I said to Coach T last night in a text: YOU TREATED MY SON LIKE S*** and he said...I still Love Warren."

Grace-Thompson didn't accept Taggart's response to her text message.

"No I Love Warrenj & the Other Boys you consistently lied to," she wrote. "You said no more favoritism- nothing but the Best Players- you made every excuse not to do this and now look- Coach Taggart you let everybody Down!!!! I met with him 6 days b4 his firing. In his Big Beautiful office & he was still LYING Kool & Smiling GOOD BYE TAGGART.

I want this to happen so badly, so it won't. However just for fun, he's got Butch's FIU at home this week in Boca, a winnable road game against San Antonio and a tough home game against Southern Miss to end the year. Marshal owns the head to head tiebreaker as they're both tied with a 4-1 conference record right now.

He's going to find a way to fail back upwards again eventually and him doing so while STILL not winning even his division would be the funniest coaching search outcome since Fake Lames bungled two of them in a row at Miami.

Posted by: solarcane | November 04, 2019 at 11:20 AM

We had a lot of momentum going into the GT game as well. If the Canes come out and take care of business and run the table, then I will give CMD and this staff some credit for keeping the team together and moving them toward success after a 3-4 start.

IMHO, CMD and this staff are still learning on the job, but they did get the Canes to play their best two back-to-back road games since 2017, so right now, I rank CMD above Taggart and in the Al Golden territory as far as my coaching scale is concerned.

The Canes did lose at home to VT and GT and had an underwhelming performance against Central Michigan, but has since won two solid back-to-back road games against Pitt and an underwhelming FSU team.

A win against Louisville at home (following two road victories where the Canes were underdogs), and a win where the Canes are favored, would go a long way and I would then move his ranking slightly ahead of Golden. Running the table puts him comfortably ahead of Golden and closer into the CMR territory.

IMO, after next season (after CMD's recruiting haul and his final record in year two), we will have a better assessment of what kind of coach CMD will be. After 15 years of disappointment, I will be in a "wait and see" mode before I pronounce CMD as the guy to lift this program.

WTXL - Tallahassee, Florida

Sources: FSU nearing deal with Bob Stoops to become next head football coach

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Bob Stoops could become the next head coach of Florida State football in the near future, according to sources. We've heard the announcement could come as early as the end of this week or early next week, and that a deal is really close to being done.

Stoops coached at Oklahoma from 1999 to 2016, winning a National Championship in 2000, a 13-2 win over Florida State. Stoops won ten Big 12 Championship titles in his time in Norman, and was a six time Big 12 Coach of the Year. He retired from coaching in June of 2017, but has since returned to coaching, as in February of 2019, it was announced Stoops would be the head coach and general manager of the Dallas Renegades in the XFL.

Along with Stoops taking over as head coach, sources said that Kendal Briles will remain on staff as offensive coordinator, while Jim Leavitt would be retained as defensive coordinator. The source went on to say that with keeping Briles on staff as offensive coordinator, it could turn into a head coach in waiting role. Stoops is 59, would want to groom a successor before he retires.

This is a developing story. We will update this story as we learn more information.

I've heard the announcement could come as early as the end of this week. With keeping Briles on as OC, it could turn into a HCIW role. Stoops is 59, would want to groom a successor before he retires.
Bob Stoops' name has been floating around a while as the potential new coach.

I've talked to some sources as well, and they confirm everything that JP has reported.

Time will tell, but I was also told that a deal is imminent with Stoops as Florida State's new coach.

I hope you are right about Stoops, Briles and Levitt. In the past, these guys have proven that they can flat out coach and win. At least we know that FSU doesn’t mind spending 💰 💵 💷

We will see if that money is well spent.

TonyCane

Bob Stoops quit OU because of twenty years of seven day a week work, coupled with the fact that his father died at a young age despite being in otherwise great health. He specifically did not want to be coaching at 65. I doubt the XFL poses the same workload commitment.

Aside from money, why would Stoops go back? Especially to a dumpster fire that has an entrenched culture problem.
