For just a minute I ask you to forget about former University of Miami head coaches Butch Davis, Larry Coker, Randy Shannon, Al Golden and Mark Richt.
Sure, we know that you are all excited that new head coach Manny Diaz may be starting to turn things at Miami around but he is just getting started.
Instead, I want you to turn your focus on a great man, a great leader and a long time great coach named Darrell Roach (R).
He goes on the blog by the name RoachCane77.
Yet, he and his coaching legend is so much more than that.
You see Roach is a coach of the women's golf team at Lemon Bay High School.
They just went to State Championships again (not even sure how many times?).
Darrell Roach (L) is a great and talented man, leader, teacher and coach.
And a huge Miami Hurricanes fan and a Canespacer from the very beginning.
He has earned and deserves your appreciation and respect.
He already has mine.

Congratulations on another successful year Darrell, I salute both you and your team.
I can not understate the value you impart to society and these kids (ACTUAL kids in the real definition of the word, not the soft weasel use of the term for the young adults you'll see thrown around on here regarding 18 to 22 year olds in college, mind you!) year after year teaching them about sportsmanship, team work, and what it takes to be a winner in life as well as on the links.
Now, about this shitty university football team that thinks they should get paid to play a game for kids . . .

ESPN Power Rankings is Trash. We should be about 60 and FSU should be about 90. Louisville is about right.

Literally a day before the opening of the basketball season, it destroyed the hopes and preparations of several transfers by suddenly denying them permission to play, for fear that changing schools might lead to a form of free agency.
“We are at a loss as to how this decision aligns with a mission of prioritizing the well-being of student-athletes,” a “stunned” Tennessee Athletic Director Phillip Fulmer said, after Uros Plavsic was told he would be penalized with an entire year of ineligibility for leaving Arizona State when a fellow Serbian coach departed the program.
The NCAA is an entity that has to be restrained by threat of law from abusing athletes’ rights to their own names and likenesses, and that reforms only hedgingly, grudgingly, and deceitfully. It’s a body that has become so universally offensive to the nose that even politicians on the opposite poles have formed a consensus against it. Liberal California Governor Gavin Newsom, conservative Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida, and moderate Republican senator Mitt Romney of Utah are all championing state and federal legislation to curb its maltreatment of athletes.

Although the Canes are not officially eliminated from Coastal Division championship contention, I think it is unlikely at this point.
I think it is more likely that the Canes reach Bowl eligibility. Moreover, if the Canes can find a way to run the table on the last three games, I think it is possible that the Canes will make a decent bowl game (such as Camping World in Orlando), and finish the season 9-4, and ranked in the Top 25, just like they did in CMR's first season as HC in 2016.
Finishing the season 6-0, after starting 3-4, would create a lot of momentum in recruiting going into the off-season and on the field next season.

Why LSU is where they are and why we will stay where we are.
Diaz
He said on offense, Miami football - at its best, during the glory years - features “deep throws, a power downhill running game” and good quarterback play. That’s what he wants here, not an offense that spreads it out, throws most of the time, and doesn’t use much of a power running game.
“It’s been done [very well] before,” Diaz said of that offensive style. “Which means it can be done again.”

Everything points to a Miami won tomorrow, so that’s probably why we’ll come out flat, play down to level of a crappy Louisville Team, and make some scrub look like a Heisman Contender.

Louisville can't defend the pass.
We have the receivers to beat their defensive backs.
Their qb can run,we did a great job against Cam Akers. The D line and Shaq come to play we are OK.
Lead at halftime, tackle, hit the long ball again, play for the seniors.

OSU's DE Chase Young has to sit out the game tomorrow because of an NCAA issue.
Young has 13.5 sacks to lead all of college football, and Rousseau is second with 12 sacks.
This opens the door for Rousseau to take the national lead in sacks.
What an incredible year that Rousseau is having! Go Canes!
Posted by: BigWindyCane1 | November 08, 2019 at 10:15 AM
Louisville can't defend the pass very well, which means we will struggle throwing and Da Ville doesn't throw it consistently, which means we get torched.
It seems, the pattern is when we play teams with equal or better talent, we tend to play close games and when we play teams not on our talent level we struggle. Been this way the whole time we've been in the ACC.
Manny is delusional if he thinks this archaic offense is the ticket to paradise. Power running game with that OH line. He better get with the times, oh he is about analytics and social media but the most important thing his offense, he is still stuck in the 80's.

Yeah, winding down my coaching career, after teaching and coaching at Lemon Bay High School in Englewood, FL, for 39 years. Retired from the classroom this past June, and I'm still coaching Girls Golf and Girls Tennis for the Manta Rays. (Probably coach for another year or two...) I've been very lucky to have many awesome student athletes to work with over the years, and we racked up quite a few titles for a little public school. (Often competing against private "academy" schools.)
Just finished another very successful Golf season with a group of over achieving girls, (LOL), and will begin getting ready for our Spring tennis season now.
BUT, in the MEANTIME, we got some Kentucky Cardinals to take care of Saturday!
I hope our Canes can put together two decent performances in a row tomorrow. I'm thinking we're FINALLY discovering our identity as a team!
Let's Go CANES!
Thanks again, Tom and the SPACERS!
(Sounds like a '50's Bebop band.)

The internet is sadly killing resale values of them now, but Enos is using a significantly more amount of window dressing than Steven's indulged in and less hands on the ground outside at the snap and in deep backfield. Other than that, I can see it. Enos is the best assistant coach on the staff, if he can step the recruiting up another level or two on that side of the ball, the floor will no longer be the program's ceiling anymore!

I think he might have been the best ever at changing into positive plays at the line of scrimmage. It didnt hurt to have Bratton and Irvin there either.
