Spoken like the actual head coach of the 2001 Miami Hurricane football team . . .

VA Cane

CGNC getting on the ticket people...telling em fire James!!!
Tell em CGNC....thats awesome.
Nice work regarding ER20....we should have had that attitude years ago....by not doing real coach searches, allowing Coaches in name only....all of them were poor choices...even CMR....he was burnt when he came...this is what you end up with after 15 years...Winning has to matter...ER20 sure thinks so.

I agree with King starting...I cannot see Pornboy or Hip Shake Martell starting....the other two have no experience...green...I hope he will pan out...seems most logical choice.

Looking forward to seeing the changes in real time.

Ed Reed's message to recruits and their parents: "If you don't want to compete, don't come here. Not while I'm around."

Posted by: CGNC | February 05, 2020 at 02:38 PM

I heard the whole interview live.

We will never lose another game.

Period.

The Word From The Herb

Let The Herb heap praise, where praise is deserved, Manuel, Manure, Manalito, Manhole or whatever but at least the mug had the Jewels to make significant changes, where the last couple coaches, Golden and Richt wouldn't.
It's not easy to admit failure and has in not so many words but in the changes he has made.
Berry, Enos and Stubblefield had no business being here. I could name another but he happens to be a piece of the stubbornness Manny has left. He will eventually cut his own throat.
Make no mistake, Manny loves this job and it remains to be seen, what the product on the field looks like. For his sake it better look good!
The recruiting was surprisingly above average. We got some nice pieces but we are still short at Cb in numbers, don't have an elite LB that I've seen yet and we don't have a dominate DT, that has shown himself.
We all know how bad the offensive line has been but the new system should mask a great deal of insuffientiencies.
Getting Easy Ed Reed is the icing on the cake.
Truth be known, that is probably what got us Avante in the end.
Don't want to hear about no Spring A-A, want to see production during game time. We have more than enough talent to bust everybody but Clemson. Now if we can get over the hump of losing on the road and losing to teams that have no business being in the ballpark with us, we can start our climb out of the abyss.

alpine

bradley jennings STILL injured and probably misses spring
. . . shouldn't he maybe try golf?

Coach Lashlee on the receivers

“At receiver, we’ve got a lot of guys who haven’t really done anything but they’ve got some ability.”

Which is coach speak for King is going to be plenty pissed these guys got him dropped from the Heisman watch 5 games into the season.

solarcane

anything less than a National Championship and an on site stadium will be unacceptable.

Herb speak for we should be able to beat somebody in the ACC before the season is over.

HerbieIbis

Lashley telling like it is about our WR'S. How about finding a receivers coach who can teach them to run routes, to get separation. Half the time it looks like siamese twins running routes.
Oh we do have Likens, hopefully he'll finally be the separation answer.

Terrance M Sullivan

Herb Mark Richt First Season we Went 9-4 finished on a 5 Game Win Streak and Ended Decade Long Bowl Win Drought and Finished Ranked. What Did Palmetto 57th Manny Do In His First Season Here as Head Coach Oh Wait I will Tell you 6-7 Has The Worst 3 Game Losing Streak IN Miami Hurricanes History losing to FIU, Duke, and Louisiana Tech so to even make that comparison is so off based. I love what Manny is doing this offseason but comparing him to Richt is a bad take.

solarcane

sully,
you didn't mention your favorite Mannyism,
managing to be the only bowl team in the nation to not score a point...
How is that even possible? lol

To Manny's credit he has made the necessary changes so good on him there. What the changes mean remains to be seen.

Terrance M Sullivan

Solar Yes Sir haha but I love the offseason moves and is encouraged that we will have a pretty good to good season. I would be happy with a TaxSlayer Gator Bowl Appearance in Jacksonville in January 2021.

Glug, glug, glug... chugging down the KoolAid in BIG GULPS!!!!😂😂😂
12%ers ALL THE WAY!!!💯💯

Go Canes!!

We just finished with a rock solid, Top 15 ranked recruiting class, topped off by humiliating the Turds by pulling perhaps the top safety in America right out from under them. All after what was without a doubt the worst season since the first time I ever even thought about being a Canes fan.

Going to forget about FIU and the debacle to end of the season for now. Today is a great day to be a Miami Hurricane fan.

Going to enjoy the hell out of it.

Not so fast my friend...I want back to back to back titles!!!!!!!!!....3 12-0 seasons ACC title game playoff game NC games......3 seasons 15 games....45 in a row...then the following year we can win 3 more and break the OK 47 game win streak!

Hell i want that bus powered by a nuclear reactor and sporting a railroad air horn...they will know we coming for yall!!!!!!!

Since we can't stop, we steer.

Steering at 150 mph is tough.

Let's leave the Nitrous kit off, OK?

You guys act like a new 21st century offensive coordinator,a new offensive line coach, a new receiver coach,
a Heisman watch qb,a Groza finalist kicker,a legend high school coach,
the number one high school safety in the country recruit, and a UM legend and NFL Hall of Fame advisor is going to make one bit of difference in Miami Hurricane Football.

Oops, accidentally left him out. 247 has his HS rating as a 3 star (same as King). At some point they'll reevaluate them both as transfers and likely upgrade them to 4 star players.

TJL

RIP Spartacus

TJL

Henry Parish signs with Ole Miss-glad he didn't go to Pitt and do a Devonte Freeman on us for 3 years

AeroCane

TLJ
He lived a long life and looked good even at his ripe old age
Spartacus and The Vikings
Both awesome

AeroCane

So I’m excited about everything that’s been going on except:
• lack of elite LB
• Blake still our DC
• Blake still our AD
• Manny still our HC

The Herb

Tony,
I believe Clarke got a bump to 4 star by 247 but not a consensus by all publications.

raizecane

So let me see if I have this right, we are going to go 12-0 with a new OC, new WR coach, new line coach, new QB and implementing an offense Miami has never used???

Go Canes!!

12-0. CFB world is going to be shocked.

TonyCane

Raise, kicking problems alone cost us 4 games last year. It’s easily possible that a Miami team with an underperforming offense enters the FIU game 10-0. Do we still lose that game? Maybe. Or maybe - since football (and sports in general) are driven by emotion - a Hurricanes team with a clear path to the CFB NC tournament prepares and tries harder.

What I’m saying is that the gap between a 10 win and 6 win Miami team was basically special teams last year. This year special teams have been addressed, and more importantly our offense should be significantly better.

86Cane

TonyCane is on da BUS!

TonyCane

Aero, I will say that I’m highly encouraged by Manny’s quick moves this offseason, plus the flexibility when it comes to spending that he (and Richt) have been given. He’s taking advantage of every lever given to him.

Al Golden refused to get rid of D’No after Year 2, and it ultimately cost him.

Randy was given coupons and pocket change to put together a staff.

While I think it will work, nothing is guaranteed. But I’m encouraged that we’re not trusting a process that clearly is not working. Improbably, unbelievably hope exists again in the program, and that’s the most valuable resource a HC and his staff can exude.

TonyCane

Aero, when he was little my younger son liked 20K Leagues Under the Sea and he loved the “Whale of a Tale” song that Douglas sung. Ironically on the way home from a basketball tournament my now teenage son played it on his phone just last week.

solarcane

EVERYTHING hinges in King staying healthy, a sprained ankle could be the difference between a 9-3 season and a 7-5 season.

I'm very optimistic, but not quite squealing the like a little girl on Christmas morning just yet.

AeroCane

Tony
How could I have forgotten 20000 leagues under the sea
Lots of fun
I also enjoyed the ride at DW

AeroCane

I also think Perry is going to be a decent back up in this system
My biggest concern with manny is ‘will he hold these guys accountable’?
He should Never have taken Reed back and if before the fiu game he knew williams was screwing around manny should of left him home and started anyone else
Can’t be elite if the head man is a pussy

solarcane

Aero,
You are right about leaving Williams home. Taking Jeff Thomas back proved a waste also.
I think Reed looking over Mannys shoulder will make Diaz toughen up.
Diaz proved he is capable of making changes,I think he learns from his mistakes.
