"I would say pump the brakes on it a little bit because he had one terrific season and I don’t know—as a graduate transfer, some times they work out great and some times they get underwhelming,” Feldman said on The Audible Podcast.

PUMP THE BRAKES?
1. The Canespace bus has NO brakes.
2. We can't stop so we just steer.
3. To down play King's transfer to Miami is like raining on the Rose Bowl parade. It is completely unacceptable to Miami fans.
To Negative Nancy Feldman we say: CHOKE ON IT!

The King is coming.

William Moise ain't here yet and may not get in. Grades
Current roster ain't bad, unless you look at our putrid numbers in the cornerback room and you look at the Oh line room and look at all the flops and question marks.
The rest of our ships, need to go to Oh linemen. Springtime bring in a portal CB, OL and WR.

From the previous blog:
Big windy - don’t worry, Kirby could hire a monkey as OC and still out recruit politician Manny!
Go, Lincoln had Bob Stoops as his HC, poor Lashee has you know who.
Posted by: AeroCane | January 24, 2020 at 10:00 PM
As for the composition:
I feel we should have at least 1 five star stud at:
RB was a check until we ran LL off
WR check
LB fail
Safety fail
CB fail
As for qb, if the right one is recruited, I don’t care what the star ranking is
OL - we’ve got plenty of 4 stars - the question is: are they the right ones?
Those are my thoughts
Posted by: AeroCane | January 24, 2020 at 10:31 PM
If this OC is a young Lincoln Riley we are going to win a ton of games this season.
I like to think this and other changes are improvements....but subject to seeing what happens....on the field in a game...not spring practice not Wagner or UAB....
I always say IF is the middle word in lIFe......there is nothing certain or carved in stone. I am interested to see results not wishes or hopes.
He has some good ideas, and King has some good numbers. Hard to say the competition quality he faced.... Hope he runs well, as he has the worst OL in the country up front....

William's left Miami without telling Diaz, now ain't that rich!

Herb
It’s the great respect politician manny commands! Lol
Posted by: AeroCane | January 24, 2020 at 10:59 PM
Well if the dude is getting the ball out in under 3 seconds, it don't matter the comp. The question i have can our no route running WR's get separation.
As far as our numbers go
Our Dee line looks pretty good minus a stud DT.
Our LB's need a stud and our numbers are about 2 to 3 short.
Db's, we're ok at safety but about 3 short at CB.
Qb's, aside from King, not sure we have anyone close as dynamic as King can be.
RB, We are short a Rb. We have some talent. I like Burns, the dude runs hard.
Wr, we are short 2 or 3 and don't really have a go to guy. Don't have aside from Wiggins any big WR's.
TE, we are Ok but will probably need to add 2 next year.
The Oh Line, where to begin, when, we need some talent. Next year can't be no flop. No bringing in 2 guys and one being a project, have to hit on 2 big time players, preferably tackle.

Williams sneaks out of town...a crybaby snowflake....yea he digs everyone getting a trophy for [;aying ...and losing...just like the free and gentle flower Sheriffs...these guys will fail in life...its too hard

Kings biggest problem
NCAA football stats
"Miami's receivers couldn't catch, is the simplest way to put it. Of the 130 FBS teams, Miami's receiving corps ranked 117th nationally in on-target catch rate (number of catchable balls receivers catch) at 80.2 percent. Only seven Power Five schools had a lower rate, with Michigan coming in 129th nationally at 75.2 percent"

Great job Tony/Soup. Not sure if it’s appropriate to add the new commits to the list:
WR Keyshawn Smith (3 stars)
CB Isaiah Denson (4 stars)
Posted by: BigWindyCane1 | January 25, 2020 at 09:36 AM
We ain't never catching up to the 85 limit.
Kids that jump in portal, should not be allowed to until after or before season, not during the season. Should be able to play without sitting as long as the have the necessary credit hours.
Should be able to add players to compensate for those jumping into portal, regardless of scholarship limit but only after Spring practice (May 1st).

Tempted to, but let's wait until ink is on paper...or the commitment comes in on that 1986 Toshiba fax machine.

It's why I would be tempted to bring back Hightower under the right circumstances. He was one of the better receivers and...
1) No matter what, we can't hit 85 scholarships this year
2) In this offense, we'd ideally want 10 receivers
3) A Hightower return doesn't require giving out one of the two remaining scholarships that we can give out in 2020

Patchan to the portal....slow white guy portal
Posted by: TJL | January 25, 2020 at 12:33 PM
Yeah a little slow but good depth and experience.
Posted by: The Herb | January 25, 2020 at 01:18 PM
If they let Hightower back on it would be the last time someone quits and wants back

Agreed, and he starts at the very bottom of the depth chart and has to earn his spot back.

I wonder where Virginia Tech is at now?
Posted by: TonyCane | January 25, 2020 at 01:54 PM
I do not think he is All American or anything, but losing people to grad and portal....never hurts to have a guy who has played some reps....even as back up or rotation guy....we lost a lot of the D....and its supposed to be our best phase of O D and ST

▪ One web site, bovada.com, lists King with the third-shortest odds to win the 2020 Heisman Trophy, at plus-1000. Ahead of him on the list: Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields (plus 225) and Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence (plus 400).

I realize it is still very very early in the offseason, but it’s been almost two decades since the Canes have had a Heisman candidate at any point in the season or offseason
Posted by: BigWindyCane1 | January 25, 2020 at 04:15 PM
here we go again?
New UM running back Don Chaney Jr. underwent minor shoulder surgery and isn’t expected to participate in contact drills during spring practice.
That will leave UM with three scholarship tailbacks for the spring (Cam’Ron Harris, Robert Burns, newcomer Jaylon Knighton), plus fullback/H-back Michael Parrott, who was recently given a scholarship.

Big windy - IJS but you’re setting yourself up for a huge let down!
Manny is still the HC!
