On this Memorial Day 2021 we would like to offer a sincere THANK U to all of the incredibly brave men and women who have risked their lives in combat or have been killed in the defense of our freedom.
For all of those men and women who have served in the U.S armed forces and who have literally put their lives on the line to protect and defend the United States of America this blog is for U.
For all of the courageous men and women who recognized that freedom isn't free and found it necessary to put themselves in harms way we thank U.
For all of those Army soldiers who have fearlessly risked their lives to defend our Country in World Wars, regional conflicts and in battles against the war on terrorism, we honor U.
For all of those Navy sailors, who save the free world on the open seas, without concern for their own safety to defend the world's oceans we recognize U.
For all of those highly skilled Air Force pilots and their support crews who defend our airspace with their incredible talent and ability we salute U.
And for all of those who served as a Marine like my father who faught in Korea and served as a Staff Sargent in Camp LeJune, NC may God bless you and keep you safe and well. It's not easy being first in and last out.
We wish all American defense personnel and all U.S. citizens across our great Nation the peace, freedom and security that all sovereign Nations deserve.
We would like to take this opporuntity to recognize all who served and all who paid the ultimate sacrifice to defend our freedom. And we wish all of our bloggers, their families and friends a safe and happy Memorial Day.
Miami Hurricane fans salute the armed forces and ask that God Bless America!

We are all blessed to live in a country where so many freely put themselves in harm’s way to allow the rest of us to live as we do.

I'll second that as well!

6/4-6/7, assuming the U sticks around, as the 2 seed in the Gainesville regional. South Alabama is 3 and USF is 4.
Hope all here are well, and thank you to all who have or are serving.

My prediction and I hate to say it and hope I’m wrong- we go 0-2 and end this horrendous season in a whimper!
Our only hope is Blake grows a set and fires our ‘interim coach’ and finds the next Jim Morris!

Approximately 27 3,4 and 5 stars will be hosted by manny and other coaches and key players tonight for a cookout! Cross your fingers we get good vibes and set some guys up for early commitments!

My prediction, is that this 22 class won't be as good as the 21 class.
I hope those hamburgers & steaks turn the tide for those big boys on the fence.
The baseball team has been hot and cold all year. Dimare won't get canned. Most all his pitchers will be back next year but quite a few position players (Starters will be gone or can leave).

Some guy named Larry Coker is on the college football HOF ballot for the first time this year . . .

😳
HOF O Coordinator... SURE!
Head Coach? Not so much...
Posted by: roachcane77 | June 03, 2021 at 11:05 AM
"A coach also must have been a head coach for at least 10 years and have coached at least 100 games with a winning percentage of .600 or better."
Ed Reed is already in and didn't do any of these though, so, explain that, voters?
Posted by: orange 'n green in the vein | June 03, 2021 at 11:55 AM
Orange- Unless I don’t understand what you’re saying, I doubt very seriously that Ed Reed is in any HOF as a coach; he’d be in as a DB!

Hi everyone! Received a call from UM ticket office:
"What are your plans for the upcoming season?"
Me: Not renewing
"Why?"
Me: Need an athletic director who knows what he is doing. Until that happens my money stays home".
Sigh

Canes up 1-0 in the 5th over S Ala
Gators lose 5-3 to USF
Just an FYI
Posted by: AeroCane | June 04, 2021 at 07:40 PM
Canes win 1-0
Rosario, 6 plus innings, federman and palmquist with the Shut out
Play USF to be in the drivers seat of the tourney

Great baseball day. Still no O, but found a way to win with good pitching while FU loses. Maybe, just maybe...

Aero and JCane...well done.

Bunch of punch drunk hitters. Yes they won BUT unless these hitless wonders figure it out, this thing will end quick.
Posted by: HerbieIbis | June 05, 2021 at 11:55 AM
Agreed, Herbie. Even advancing out of Gainesville would be a short trip without hitting in college baseball. Even the sole run was all the U brought in with the bases loaded. However, getting to face USF next is all they could have asked for, in spite of USF playing good ball the last few weeks. FU was down to S Ala 2-1 early. Would love to see FU eliminated early. UM vs. USF is scheduled for 4. Can only hope a win today and then hitting vs. depleted pitching staffs can help our hitters. USF won't be a pushover.

SA now up on the Crocs 19-1 in the 7th, with a delay now in place. Guess the better seeding (#15)and earning a regional isn't looking so great for FU at this point. Barring a miracle, FU will be the first school eliminated from the regional. Winner of USF and UM will have to win 1 more to advance. Loser will have to win 3. Just glad SA wasn't lighting anything up yesterday.

Nothing better than a Canes win and a Gator loss.
"Smells Like Victory"
Posted by: 86Cane | June 05, 2021 at 04:44 PM
3 hits to bring in 1 while stranding a runner on 3rd to close out the top of the 2nd and tie the game at 1 for the U.
Posted by: JCane | June 05, 2021 at 07:15 PM
3 up, 3 down in top 3rd for the U. Bottom 3rd still 1 all.
Posted by: JCane | June 05, 2021 at 07:25 PM
Top of 4th, the U wastes a single and intentional walk by way of 2 Ks. Bottom 4th still 1s.
Posted by: JCane | June 05, 2021 at 07:43 PM
Ugly bottom half of 4th for the U, now 5-1, runners on and in a delay
Posted by: JCane | June 05, 2021 at 08:13 PM
8-1, 7th, but at least we got an error to give us a leadoff runner with only 5 hits so far tonight. Follow that with a K...and looking there, a single. Two men on.
Posted by: JCane | June 05, 2021 at 10:16 PM
A walk to load em up with 1 down. Sac fly, 8-2, runners now on the corners with 2 down. Grounds out, to the bottom of the 7th. Main problem for the team all season hasn't been just hitting, bit hitting with RISP. On days pit ging isn't on, this and aluminum bats can cover a good college team.

Pitching
Posted by: JCane | June 05, 2021 at 10:24 PM
Well, what do u know, another beat down and another big day scoring runs, 2!
Posted by: HerbieIbis | June 06, 2021 at 12:51 AM
This baseball team has tons of talent - just bad coaching from the head person to the assistants
Posted by: AeroCane | June 06, 2021 at 07:11 AM
Well Aero, bad or not as a coach, he sure as hell can't hit for them.
Hey, they may score 3 runs today and that my friends would be an improvement.
Posted by: HerbieIbis | June 06, 2021 at 10:47 AM
No he can’t nor pitch - but as I’ve said many times, coaching matters - he’s not teaching or practicing correctly;
It’s like saying our ST with the same players wouldn’t be better with a ST coach not named patke! Lol

Heading to the 5th
4-0 Not the Canes
Posted by: AeroCane | June 06, 2021 at 01:21 PM
4-1 - canes up in top of 6th
Posted by: AeroCane | June 06, 2021 at 01:39 PM
Toral homers - 4-2 still in the top of the 6th
Posted by: AeroCane | June 06, 2021 at 01:48 PM
LET'S GO CANES!!!
Posted by: 86Cane | June 06, 2021 at 02:29 PM
Top of 8th still down 4-2
First 2 canes single, toral flies out; Perez strikes out, izarra strikes out!
What a disaster this team is
Posted by: AeroCane | June 06, 2021 at 02:31 PM
Aero...they sure seem to strike out a LOT?

The misery is over with. After coughing up 4 bombs, Canes are off to 2022. Maybe by then they can figure out how to hit a dam beach ball.
Oh, 7-2 would be the final.

From inside the U
Fort Worth Brewer five-star defensive lineman Bear Alexander backed off his commitment to Georgia on Monday afternoon and quickly announced that he would spend multiple days in Coral Gables before taking his official visit that begins Friday June 11. 6-3, 325
We NEED guys like this. Not saying we are getting him, but Jess Simpson isn’t playing games!!
Posted by: AeroCane | June 07, 2021 at 03:17 PM
We are also trending upward with 4 star CB khamauri Rogers out of MS. He’s got offers from FL, FSU, LSU, GA, Oklahoma,ND, ole miss, MSU among others
6’1, 168

'Cruitin'
Posted by: 86Cane | June 08, 2021 at 03:13 PM
Well Bear Alexander would be what we need but jumping off Georgia, I don't think he leaves the state twice. Tex. A&M is where he ends up. Would love to be wrong.
I know if we don't have 5 or 6 cruits by the end of June, we might be in trub.
They have put in a crystal ball for 5 star Shemar Stewert for us.
The Roger's kid is between us and Miss at present.
Jacoby Spells is another kid I look for us to reel in.
We need at least 3 cbs this cycle.
2 LBs. With Wesley Bisainthe being the main LB we are after and are sitting pretty good with.
Looking to pick up at least 2 edge rushers and 2 inside tackles.
One to two safties.
Offense 2 WR's maybe 3.
2 to 3 offensive linemen.
One maybe 2 TE's.
I don't look for them to take a RB.
That number of 17 to 18 high school kids should be it unless, some big time kids change their mind.
They have already used to ships forward that will count towards 2022. That would leave about 5 or 6 for the portal.
Posted by: HerbieIbis | June 08, 2021 at 07:24 PM
Want the freshman DL that's in portal from USC-he went thru the spring with them--take the USC linebacker too! please don't tell me we are lining up against Bama with the LB,s we have....
