Game Day Blog: Miami vs Louisville

The final home game of the season is today at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. Miami will host Louisville in an ACC showdown.

We will see what the Hurricanes bring to the field as Tyler Van Dyke will be starting at QB once again. Will it be turnovers or touchdowns?

Only time will tell.

You are right Old school, it's all about Tyler.
He has been through a lot and never complained about the hand he was delt. Played with injuries and bad play calling.

He has a chance to pull us through a good finish.
that being said I will be saying a prayer asking the Lord to help him to play to the best of his

Dude was seriously injured earlier this season and was hurt pretty bad last week in a rivalry game. I’m gonna reserve any evaluations at this time given how well he played early in the season.

Little over 4 minutes left in the second Qt we stop them, get the ball back and generate maybe 3yds, punt with a little over 2 minutes and naturally they slow walk us down the field for a TD before the half. They come out second half kick a FG. To me that's where the game changed. Van Dyke has a good game finally and the dee stunk. We were clueless in the first qt.
We've been in every game and the record could be 11-0 as easily as it could be 4 & 7.
Bottom line is we are still mediocre at best. We are 5 to 6 players away from flipping these close games, into routes but that's if Mario can figure out how to coach like he can recruit.

I think the inconsistency and close score losses are indicative of 2 things: a) 3 years & 3 OC’s/3 different systems; and b) crucial injuries. A veteran team that has played the same system for several seasons can overcome critical injuries. An healthy talented team can succeed in a new system in Year 1. It’s rare that a team can overcome both to have a championship type season unless the talent level is so over the top to be like Bama or GA. CANES are in like Year 20 of the rebuild and didn’t get the Luck or the zebra calls to overcome A & B in 2023. We got a glimpse of a team playing at top 10 level several times, but can’t close the deal. SUKS for us but I don’t think the Program is “that” far away. The talent is trending up. Many of U may hate to hear it, but we need consistency in coaching (& recruiters) now.

Another tough loss that if you watched the game, knew it was coming.
Guidry (love the guy and what he’s done) but, today he got schooled consistently.
Offense had a decent day
QB no picks
Run game- looked good early but again a trend of either we don’t change or defenses catch up and adjust

Predictable play calling on offense again
Defense was biting all day on misdirection and paid dearly over and over

I like others love this team for over 40 years now and always will root for them

We have some good players and this year’s team is tougher than most in the last 20 years

But our coach plays not to lose rather than playing to win

Very frustrating

So sorry for our loss today. Love my Canes so much, and everything the U stands for. Every year, I wait for football, and every year, I end up dejected, longing for a win. BUT, I feel worse for the players and the team. They play the game, we don’t. And , we must cheer for them. They deserve our support.🟩🟧💚🧡
