Coker posted a 60-15 record as head coach at Miami, including an astounding 35-3 record in his first three seasons. He led the Hurricanes to consecutive BCS Championship Games, winning the 2002 Rose Bowl and becoming the first rookie head coach to lead his team to a national title since 1948. Coker led the Hurricanes to three BIG EAST titles and orchestrated a 2001 offense that set the conference record with 475 points scored during the regular season.

GOD WHAT I WOULD GIVE FOR THAT RIGHT NOW!

Kyshawn George actually picked by Washington as they traded up to select him. Kyle Filipowki not going in the first round from Duke has to sting when he was a good player for two ACC season years on two good teams, and George was just ok for a single one on a bad team.

Herbieibis

Oh lineman Max Buchanan is a Cane. The center from Bishop Gorman is crystal balled to us as well.
Dam near a quarter of our team will be oh lineman.
My question is where are the WR's, oh we have none as of yet. Need to be loading up on corners, like at least 3 or 4.

CGNC

Happy for Kyshawn!

#1 verbaled for you today, Herb, with Chaminade Madonna pipeline largely continuing by way of Chris Ewald picking the U today. I never fully trust verbals, or I guess anyone in this era of free agency, but he's a huge get for a position of need. I like the Buchanan OT verbal from yesterday. They only go after very big fast OT targets nowadays.

Herbieibis

Like Bama, big oh linemen that don't need to add 30 to 40 lbs.
Ewald a big get, especially a position that we tend to forget about or it has seemed that way.

Say Hello to Mr. Scroggins. The DE just committed.

Offensive line makes sense - we have up to 4 linemen leaving next year due to graduation and/or NFL.

The defensive backfield is thin. We have 1 corner and 2 safeties who will likely be gone due to graduation and/or NFL next season.

Wide receiver will need to be addressed - we have at least 3 who will likely be NFL bound after this season.

To add to Tony, a big, although was mostly expected, pickup of Gavin Nix tonight, verbaling out of IMG. This should likely complete the LB corps, assuming all stick

TonyCane

I agree, JCane. We could be losing up to three LBs after this season; this replenishes the room.

Happy July 4th Canespacers. Don’t drink too much and stay safe. On second thought, just enjoy, relax and get ready for some fall football.

 JCane

Derion Coleman, 26 qb, verbaled yesterday and 25 Hylton Stubbs, 4 star safety out of Jax, today. The Canes have been on quite the run. Will be interesting to see how all plays out with DJ Pickett, now planning on announcing on the 17th.

Happy 4th, all.

Herbieibis

Need Pickett fo show. Mario is cooking with some serious grease.
Got to look good on the field to keep what we got and add the few right ingredients we haven't picked up yet. Hint they will be catching the ball and clogging the middle up.

The most interesting comment regarding the Stubbs commitment was that he said one of the reasons for choosing Miami was it was a large market to build his brand. Sounds like that's a reason he may have committed to USC (Los Angeles) in the first place.

Nonetheless, that relates to an earlier discussion we had on these pages regarding NILs and media market size. If the guy's going to be posting regularly on social media, Miami offers a hell of a lot more things to do and opportunities for media amplification (going viral) than Gainesville, Tuscaloosa, Athens, Tallahassee, Clemson and every other small market, land grant University. Hope he does very well

 JCane

SJ Alofaituli, top 100 IOL, likely C of the future, out of our western feeder school, Bishop Gorman of LV, just verbaled to UM. Quite the roll for the U thus far. Like Herb said, still need some slots taken by wideouts and DTs, but looking good so far, and IF wins happen this season.....

Can I get some WRs to throw to PLEASE!

The recruiting looks good and it needs to continue to roll. I am a very big non fan of NIL money.....I do not like what I see and it is not good for college football...that being said it is here to stay so we must accept it ....maybe not embrace it. Its like being in the desert and the camel wants to put his nose in the tent to get it warm....pretty soon he is in the tent with you!!!!

I think this could have been avoided if college football would have eased of being too strict...and decided that you could give each kid on the roster...star or reserve a monthly stipend to help them out. Pay their tuition, feed them house them give them books....and give each player say $3,500 to spend on themselves....it would be better than millions!!!!

Mario and staff are doing a good job recruiting....but after 2 years overall we are below .500....its time to get moving its time to build a testimonial on the field.....this year its time to stop making excuses and get to the task of winning. If we can have a really good year, the recruiting will spiral upward and we can start building a real program again. I am optimistic or try to be....we need to have a good year....

Hope you all are well...hot hot here...in VA....looking forward to the season!!!!

Nice info Tony! The 3 additional are all solid 4 as well and 247 has us in the top 10! Again as you and Herb have stated, big Joe needs to step up and help JT land some huge DT’s; and KB needs to get us some 4 or 5 star WR! I’m going out on a limb, but I do think we land Jamie Ffrench, a 5 star wr out of mandarin in Jax and 5 star safety, dj Pickett out of Zephryhills

100% agreed VA Cane!

It's time to stop making excuses and get to the task of winning.
