Our Miami Hurricanes are ranked in preseason USA Today Coaches Poll at 19 seems a bit high to me I would have my Canes at #25. I mean we did lose 6 of our last 9 Games including a embarrassing bowl loss to Rutgers SMH. Hope we actually live up the hype of this year it's long overdue. Go Canes!Congratulations to Dre and Dev going into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame!

AJ = super standup guy for playing basically his entire career with the Texans. A 1st ballot HOF’er if he’d played on better teams.

86 is the best! And, of course, Canespacers are the best in the world!
Love for the U is a lifetime commitment. I’m a 1970 graduate from the University of Miami, and I miss going to the old Orange Bowl, with its leaky bathrooms etc. Roughing it and the fumes of all the buses, was part of the charm. Open stadium that looks to the east, to Miami Beach was awesome.
Went with my parents to the Orange Bowl when they played Notre Dame. My father was a Notre Dame graduate, and they beat us. But it was so much fun. Stadiums are too pristine today and sanitized!!
I’m at the place where my love, Richard is. Still love him to death after 40 years together. We still haven’t gotten married! That’s true love.❤️
Wish all of you the very best.
What’s your thoughts on the first game, against Florida, up in the Swamp? I watched Swamp People this morning, to start to get ready!

Defensive coordinator Lance Guidry said on media day that Daryl Porter Jr. and Jadais Richard are the projected starting boundary cornerbacks, with Damari Brown in the slot. Marshall transfer Dyoni Hill is pushing for a starting job. And freshman cornerback OJ Frederique has impressed everyone.

So our Miami Hurricanes are Preseason Number 19th in both the USA Today Coaches Poll and the AP Media Poll. So it's put up or shut up time coming. We need to be better than 19th by January 21st when the Final Ranking Comes out.

Did pigs fly? Heather Dinich said the []_[] is the most underrated. So did our neighborhood friendly SEC jock sniffer Paul Fingerbaum.

Ready for some football! TSully we seem to have a talented team - but it surely needs to translate on the field
Posted by: CGNC | August 15, 2024 at 03:42 PM
CGNC correct my biggest worry is coaching if the coaching staff can coach 80 percent as good as they recruit we will have a fantastic year 10 wins minimum with a chance at playing for and or winning The ACC and Playoff appearance and possibly winning a playoff Game so we could definitely finish in the Top 10 if Coaching is up to snuff. Of course the only caveat is if we have significant injuries but that applies to all Power 4 Teams. Basically We have the Talent, The Experience, The Infrastructure, Do we have the Coaching to put it all together. Good Coaching puts you into positions to win Games, Bad Coaching puts you in position to lose Games. Ex GA Tech vs Miami last year. Go Canes!

We’re the most underrated because talent level & we lost 4 games last season due to coaching. Yet the coach is the same guy lol. So better keep yo fingers crossed the old dog learned some lessons…
I will choose to have faith and optimism! It makes the season more fun, at least the start of the season haha.
GO CANES

As expected, Ben Hanks Jr verbally commits to UF as UF legacy. Whether UM could change his mind on 8/31 remains to be seen.

Posted by: DallasTX Cane | August 17, 2024 at 11:42 AM
19 may be a bit high...I would rather not be ranked as it is not based on reality....I just want to focus on the UF game....we need to come out of the gate strong. We need to execute our fundamentals on O D and ST....all business no talking or yapping. for once, since 2003 21 years lets focus on having a good season one game at a time.

Well I embraced your idea and philosophy and put my money where my mouth is!
I bet $50 on Canes to beat UF by more than 2.5 points and another $50 that the Canes will make the college football playoffs THIS YEAR.
So what this means is that either I win some $$$ or "someone" in Coral Gables may get a scar!

Prediction for Gators game:
MIAMI 35 FLORIDA 24
Posted by: TonyCane | August 20, 2024 at 01:05 PM
Music to my ears! Thanks Tony Cane for your prediction. As a 1970 graduate from the University of Miami, beating Florida would be awesome. I remember the days when they didn’t want to play us in football anymore.
On a personal note, my sweetheart of 40 years is in the hospital. He fell, fractured 3 vertebrae and got severe Covid from the facility. At 86 years old, it’s a rough one. We went to 2 home games in Florida and I hope we can watch it together next week. At the hospital here in Michigan, one doctor is from UF and the other doctor, from the U of Miami. Small world.

Going to be a long season to be a concern troll.
Oh look, the deadline came and went, once more, for the second year in a row, to announce you're leaving the ACC to get out by 2027 now at the earliest, guess the infantile crying pair of conference disruptive partners are still all bark and no actual bite other than their own tails, as usual again.
Posted by: orange 'n green in the vein | August 20, 2024 at 09:22 PM
They won’t be leaving for at least 5 more years and my guess Clemson ain’t leaving at all they have been mostly quiet, I can see FSU doubling down on dumb and leaving in 5 years because they have boxed themselves into a corner! That being said if the league handles business if our Canes can get back to 90 percent of what we were coming into the League if VT gets back to 95 percent of what they were when they came into the league if the disrupters keep up their end, NC State, Louisville, and I feel SMU will be good as well and one other team either Pittsburgh or North Carolina or Georgia Tech get back to being consistently good which is very possible then you get the 7-8 Teams that lead the way the league will be just fine! Go Canes!

To many middling teams in this conference. We got no excuse this year. With this schedule, they should go u defeated but it's the losing of games they got no business losing that haunts them.

All the best to your husband - I wish him the speediest recovery. And I'm hoping that he's delighted by what he sees in two weeks.
For this season, I think we have to keep in mind how different the college football landscape has become with unlimited transfers and NIL. These have turbocharged the rebuilding process that Mario undertook. Miami has 40 new players this season, including the top transfer quarterback and the top transfer running back. They also added one of the best transfer wide receivers, as well as a safety who played in the national championship game. We're no longer talking about trying to get blue chip high school recruits who may or may not pan out - we're acquiring high level veteran college players with years of experience and time in the weight room.
